Conservatively take a historical average PE of 7, (which is still very low), what do you think TAANN's price will go?

The legal framework and infrastructure for carbon trading is aggressively being implemented by the Sarawak state government. Taann's reforestation work stands to gain from credits earned. This is not reflected at all In it's revenue.

To put the valuation of SOP into perspective, Assuming EPS of 30 cents for June quarter, Net Assets per Share will be 5.50 and market cap of 3 billion, hypothetically, someone or company with deep pockets can buy it at book value for a mere USD 750m or SGD 1b for a company with land holdings larger than Singapore.

For long term investors, you need to identify companies that have sound fundamentals and with a 'Moat' before deciding on buying and selling based on technicals. Cannot solely rely on TA. Long term, the 'moat' of the palm oil industry is land or specifically, scarcity of land for cultivation due to ESG activist.

Bonus issue is not just same cake divided into smaller portions, you will get future dividends on the bonus shares. So a 10 cent dividend has the effect of being a 15 cent dividend with the bonus shares as you gained the shares at no extra cost. Given that palm oil prices will still be high for some time, good dividends are likely to be declared.

Cooking oil shortage in UK

My guest is that the ban effected is a negotiation technique by the Indonesian govt to bring the industry players onto a supply formula where 1) quantities of cooking oil supply is ensured 2) supplies are at the affordable prices that the govt wants. As such, the ban will definitely be temporary and the underlying trend of demand outstripping supply and rising prices remain intact .

Some things to note on TSH, the 2021 YE result had 44m loss due to futures contract.
Probably TSH had to sell forward in order to get enough cash for working capital.
With the receipts from the disposal of the Sabah plantation and oil mill, probably TSH had reduced forward contracts and sell spot.
44m extra to add to PBT. almost 20% on 2021 results.

Indonesian workers in Malaysia nowadays no longer look for employment, they work as 'subcontractors'. Plantation companies will pay based on the weight of FFB collected. So the minimum wage is mainly for local workers. You can hardly get any foreign workers working for less than MYR 1800 nowadays anyway.

4 broad trends that will let you conclude the price trend of palm oil.
1) World population grew from 6 billion in year 2000 to 7.9 billion in 2021
2) Worldwide Palm oil production grew from 22.22 million Tons a year in 2000 to 71 million tons in 2020.
3) Land used for palm oil production was 10.39 million ha in 2000, peaked at 20.26 million ha in 2015 and now dropped to 18.92 million ha in 2018.
4) 68% of palm oil is used for food, 27% for industrial applications and 5% for bio energy.
What's clear is that population is growing while land available for palm oil is dropping, and usage of palm has added the bioenergy element.
Make your own conclusion on the price trend.

In times of inflation, or rather hyperinflation (caused by money printing of many countries without equivalent increases in real goods output), resources that are limited will be repriced simply because more money is chasing for the same limited resources. Unless production is increased, prices will simply go up.
One resource (and value) in plantation companies that is often overlooked is the value of the land on their balance sheet.
I'm not too sure of the actual numbers, but from SOP website, SOP has 122,000 hectares of which 88,000 hectares is planted with palm oil.
To put things into perspective, the total land area of Singapore is slightly more than 72,000 hectares.
With Sarawak charting a more aggressive infrastructure drive, thus opening up more remote areas to development (thus raising land prices in remote areas), AND the impending shift of Indonesia's capital to Kalimantan and the shifting of a population the size of Singapore to there, what would the increase in land prices be in the coming years?
Hopefully some learned analyst can provide some perspective on this and how the values will be unlocked into the P&L and Balance Sheet of companies like TAANN, SOP, TSH etc...
My 2 cents

What would be of more value is that Ta Ann or SOP announce plans to invest in, develop and mass produce mechanized drones/robots for the harvesting of FFBs. I'm sure there's plenty of China based technology and manufacturing companies that one can joint venture with that can do this within a short time. That's the long term future as using manual labour will always be an achilles heel that Western nations will always use as ESG issues to suppress Malaysia plantation companies and the Palm oil industry to favour other seed oils.

Heads up to all, always remember the glove run limit down days where those investment platforms have preprogrammed threshold to sell off on hitting certain market parameters. Psychologically be prepared to face the same limit down days and prepare enough cash to take the opportunity to pick up more shares on the cheap if that happens.!

With the likely closing of the disposal of land in Kalimantan and mill/estates in Sabah , tsh is looking at a substantial gain on disposal, coupled with super profits from the high CPO prices, coming quarter results may touch more than 700m profit or more. That's a fact that will bring huge value to the shareholders that cannot be denied.

With Indonesia confirming the move of their capital to Kalimantan, land prices there have only 1 direction to go, and guess which plantation stocks have vast tracks of land on the island of Borneo.

Little known secret of palm oil. Indonesia now producing high quality SUGAR from palm oil.
Presiden Jokowi just launched the first factory producing sugar from palm oil
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rPZYj0HE6VI.
As Indonesia consume more palm oil for itself and sells refined palm products rather than CPO, don't think CPO prices will ever go down.

I have more ESG issues with a US T bonds that's used to fund nuclear submarines that crashes at the bottom of the Ocean, contaminating the sea, military drones that bombs and kills innocent people, that has funded countless wars against humanity. Not to mention a lower yield then the dividends given by genp. Where's the moral standing of this Macquarie analyst? At least the workers of genp are getting a decent wage and honest living.
The value that people missed out is the land owned by genp, if the land value is marked to market, the price of the land per share would probably be worth more than what the share price is today.
