AT Glove production capacity

This morning my friends and I visited AT Glove factory in Chemor, Perak. AT Executive Director Mr Mak gave us a briefing of the factory construction progress. It will start production of medical gloves next month. LKL has been appointed to sell its gloves. We were given the production capacity projection as below.

Mr Mak Executive Director said that the company paid cash for the 4 acres of land, all the construction cost including all the machinery and equipment for making medical glove.

The company has no borrowing.

When its annual production is 2.6 billion pieces annually, its projected profit after tax will be Rm 150 million per year. The total issued shares is 3,250 million. Earnings per share will be 4.6 sen. Assuming the share will sell at P/E 15, its share price should be 70 sen. The current price is around 25 sen.

AT Systematization is the most underrated & unknown glove maker

On 29 June the company said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia that it was acquiring glove maker Pearl Glove Sdn Bhd (PGSB) for RM22 million cash.
It said the vendors were Hai Hong Capital Sdn Bhd, P'ng Sim Guan, P'ng Lai Heng, Hai Hong Holdings Sdn Bhd and Aaron Khoo Teng Soon.
The group noted that the immediate outlook for PGSB's existing business as a trusted and tested OEM/ODM manufacturer of safety gloves is extremely positive as the demand for industrial safety gloves increases proportionally with improving workplace and safety practices globally.
On 6 November AT Systematization signed an agreement with LKL International to sell and distribute natural rubber latex and nitrile gloves. It will start production of medical gloves in December.
The gloves would be mainly distributed to hospitals and healthcare providers, with a targeted volume of up to 2.6 billion pieces per year. 

LKL managing director Lim Kon Lian said AT Systematization would be able to tap into the former’s extensive distribution network within the healthcare industry, both in Malaysia and internationally.

Comparison
AT Systematization’s total issued shares is 3180 million shares X 19 sen = Rm 605 million market capitalization. It produces 2.6 billion gloves annually. Rm 605 divided by 2.6 billion = 23 sen per glove
Comfort Glove’s total issued shares is 583 million shares X Rm 4.22 = Rm 2.460 billion market capitalization. It produces 5.4 billion gloves annually. Rm 2.46 billion divided by 5.4 billion = 46 sen per glove.
Supermax’s total issued shares is 2.721 billion shares X Rm 8.90 = Rm 24.217 billion market capitalization. It produces 26.6 billion gloves annually. Rm 24.217 billion divided by 26.6 billion = 91 sen per glove.

Why Cansino Vaccine is the better choice?
1) Cansino vaccine, named Ad5-nCoV is jointly developed with a team led by military infectious disease expert Chen Wei. It is reportedly the only recombinant COVID-19 vaccine developed in China. It was developed using a mechanism similar to a recombinant adenovirus vaccine developed by the UK company AstraZeneca and Oxford University.

(i) Dosage Required - The neutralization level generated by one dose of Ad5-nCoV is equal to that generated by two doses of inactivated vaccine.

(ii) Validity Period - Ad5-nCoV is estimated to stay valid for two years and should be stored at a temperature of 2-8 degrees Celsius.

(iii) Difference between Cansino Ad5-nCoV and AstraZeneca - Ad5-nCoV uses adenovirus that exists in human bodies while AstraZeneca/Oxford candidate uses chimpanzee adenovirus. The latter may trigger a rejection reaction in the human immune system. Despite the AstraZeneca/Oxford candidate's incident, no severe adverse effects have been discovered from Ad5-nCoV so far.

2) AstraZeneca is fast tracking its plan to obtain FDA approval. It will start discussing emergency approval of its experimental COVID-19 vaccine with U.S. regulators once it has good trial data from Britain, South Africa and Brazil. This should pave the way for Cansino Ad5-nCoV's speedy approval as well.

The decline seen today in the Malaysian equities market was not the case in regional markets.

1) Hang Seng was up by 0.90% or 212.87 points at 23,980.65 points;

Q. Why was Bursa spooked by an announcement to be made by the PM @6pm, ie after the market has closed & not otherwise?
It seemed to be a very well orchestrated move to benefit certain parties...

On 13th Sept 2020, EBI has engaged the services of Roderick A. Comunale II MD Inc (Principal Investigator) to conduct a clinical research study entitled “Inactivated Polio Vaccine in prevention of COVID-19 in high risk population in a Phase IV study, which shall study the effects of Inactive Polio Vaccine-IPV which shall be conducted according to the US Food and Drug Administration approved protocol and to be provided by EBI.

1) COVID-19 VACCINE TRACKER
Globally, researchers are testing 40 vaccines in clinical trials on humans, and at least 92 preclinical vaccines are under active investigation in animals.

China is conducting clinical trials of 11 COVID-19 vaccines, 4 of which have entered Phase III trials, said Wang Zhigang, Chinese minister of Science and Technology, at the Global Science and Life Health Forum in Beijing on Friday (18th Sept 2020).

2) UNDERSTANDING THE 5 PHASES OF CLINICAL TRIALS

3) UNDERTANDING THE TECHNICAL ROUTE FOR VACCINE DEVELOPMENT
Vaccine development usually adopts five technical routes worldwide, namely inactivated vaccines, recombinant protein vaccines, attenuated influenza virus vaccines, adenoviral vector vaccines, and nucleic acid vaccines (mRNA, DNA).

(i) The inactivated vaccine is the most common approach. Its features are simple, rapid development, high safety, and usually used to deal with acute diseases. ---> This refers to EBI’s “Inactivated Polio Vaccine in prevention of COVID-19 in high risk population in a Phase IV study;

(ii) Adenovirus vector vaccine is made by using harmless modified adenovirus as a carrier and loaded into the virus' spike protein gene to stimulate the production of antibodies in the human body. It is safe, efficient, and causes few adverse reactions.

4) CONCLUSION
On 9th Sept 2020, Bursa announced that HWGB BIOTECH SDB BHD had earmarked its production facilities by appointing XKX as a non-exclusive manufacture to produce vaccine.

XKX has the production facilities and is able to manufacture poliomyelitis vaccines, including different strains and formulation and dosage form systems of oral poliovirus (OPV), Oral Poliovirus (liquid) (OPVL) and Inactivated Poliovirus Vaccine (IPV) (“Polio Vaccines”) and the new indication which proposes the use of existing Polio Vaccines for prevention of COVID-19 virus (collectively “Vaccines”).

This was the last piece of the jigsaw puzzle to complete HWGB Biotech Sdn Bhd’s production & sales setup for EBI’s vaccine.
