Has got nothing to do with Pharmaniaga.

That is why Dp and Pharma are dropping. If you haven't woken up to smell the coffee, then you can have the booze in the evening later.

Orange168, you still haven't realised that this is not business as usual.

"the only company in Malaysia equipped with capacity, logistics technology and network, reachability to all health facilities in Malaysia." Not true. I suppose Zuellig Pharma should sit there and look pretty.
Note: This deal is cutting out the middle men and third parties. If there is a lot of screaming and pain, they are making the noise.

Way too many con jobs regarding vaccines: https://codeblue.galencentre.org/2020/10/08/malaysian-engineering-company-signs-deal-for-covid-vaccine-with-unknown-clinical-research/

Back in April, it was more honest: https://twitter.com/Khairykj/status/1251050707714584576
Now, suddenly we have human vaccine fill-finish production capacity.

Sinopharm’s experimental coronavirus vaccine, priced at US$145 for two doses, is almost seven times more expensive than COVAX’s all-inclusive price of US$21.10 for a two-dose regimen.

“Fill-and-finish is expected to be undertaken immediately once Malaysia gets access to a Covid-19 vaccine,” said Khairy.
Misleading statement. Having access to a vaccine, is different to being given the task of fill-finish in the manufacturing process. We could have access to a vaccine through COVAX or other bilateral agreement but unlikely that comes with manufacturing deal.

Let's get this straight. There is absolutely no guarantee that when a vaccine becomes available, it will be fill-finished by Pharmaniaga or Duopharma.
Any assertion or statement stating that could be misleading and wrong. If the company involved has made an agreement with the originator pharmaceutical company (e.g. Pfizer, AZ, Sinovac, etc) of a vaccine to do so, then it is possible. Until then, it is pure speculation. For example, if JnJ, Pfizer or AZ were to be successful in producing a vaccine today, they would see absolutely no need to go through Pharmaniaga to fill-finish.

Healthcare is highly regulated. Human vaccines demand the highest level and standard of pharmaceutical manufacturing. Do a bit of research on Malaysia's track record and you find our capacity is at experimental levels. Don't take from me. Just read a bit.

Thank you for suggesting that I digest an "announcement". The proof is in the background of the players. A property developer with no track record of pharmaceutical production does not inspire confidence or credibility.

Reality check: Ministry of Health, especially the NPRA has been very quiet on this issue. Not wondering why? When will the bubble burst?

Reality check: Who has certified any of the companies involved for human vaccine manufacturing? Last check, they were repurposing existing equipment. This isn't rebottling coca cola or even animal vaccines, ladies & gentlemen. Someone has to certify. Previous certification cannot be used. Need to recertify before anyone has confidence to give Malaysian companies to complete the manufacturing process.

Reality check: if Malaysia gets the vaccine through COVAX, it will be forced to not use any of the usual suspect tender agents, and even Pharmaniaga's involvement will be limited to just logistics.

The levels of ignorance and speculation regarding this issue are marked by the soaring unjustified prices of the companies involved. Unbelievable.
There has been no signed agreement with neither Sinopharm or Sinovac or indeed any Chinese manufacturer, yet this misplaced belief that we can somehow either f-f or "manufacturer" a vaccine when we have had no documented or certified human vaccine manufacturing capability. G2G means nothing if the private sector doesn't want to play.

Keep telling yourself that Hafid. LTAT should have sold instead of acquiring more stake. They are going to have either a much reduced concessionaire or drastically changed arrangement. But no more exclusive.

Hafid, the analysis you quoted predates the ongoing monopoly and tender agent controversy in drug procurement. It should be updated to reflect the current status. I do not expect the concession with MOH to be renewed in totality (certainly less than 10 years). It will probably be fewer drugs (much less than 700 drugs). This will definitely affect their revenue stream.
