1. Have patience and wait for a value price
2. Buy simple companies that you understand
3. Make sure that the companies that you do buy will be around next week, even if WWIII breaks out this week. In other words, buy a Conglomerate at a price that YOU THINK is a bargain & then sit back for a couple of decades and watch your portfolio grow

I like to speculate but i also need some diversification for long term retirement. I found some similarity in some young companies. I find many speculators in this blog. Will add some words here on personal opinion.

1980's you have Berjaya group you call him tipu Tan, now turn Tan Sri Vincent Tan and you call him successful businessman. Today you may call TPY all names, who knows all his companies turn successful business later? This TPY is no way as good as Vincent Tan at least still early to tell but even 10% of that is good enough for this boring market. No new blood Malaysia market is going to die, Bursa Malaysia is the few stock market with declining public listed companies over the years. No matter how smart the countrymen's though they were especially let some rookies run the system. The number speaks.

Disclaimer. I sold many stocks except few good ones. I hold Nexgram since below 10cents before bonus and still holding. If market drop even if bear market comes will buy again to add some, better than holding cash. Looking for 3 years investment. Mark my words here when time comes.
