It is crowded up in the Highlands. GenM will do well in Malaysia but until it resolves issues in USA investments, it will remain a laggard.

Good stock to have in portfolio. Growing business in Malaysia, China and Philippines. Zetrix will bring it to next level.

Thanks Kilalala3188 for the updates. Investors will stay clear of the stock if future plans are not clear. Hopefully this will change.

Is the YTLP Call warrant C39 and C46 which is expiring end July and early August be a reason why the share price is being pressed down?

It is my core investment this year and I am hopeful it will be do well for the next couple of years with so many growth potentials
2024-06-11 09:42 | Report Abuse
What will be the growth factors to YTLP over the next couple of years?
1. Ranhill with his sole water supplier status in Johor and Major market share to power supply in Sabah;
2. The AI DataCenter in Johor. It also has data centers in Sentul and Singapore;
3. The digital bank with SEA Ltd
4. Wessex improvements in profitability with the recent 12% increase in rates;
5. It’s 600MW hydrogen ready power plant in Singapore. It also has stakes in IPPs in Jordan and Indonesia.
6. Others - Brabazon Property Development in UK and YES which needs to improve on his performance.
7. New projects - renewable energy etc
It is a growth stock and will do well next few years.

When the glove mania was in full swing many non-glove manufacturers announced going to build glove factory. Many did not materialize and eventually announced shelved the project. Same here for data centers. Many will announce let’s see how many materialize. At least we know YTLP already completed or about to complete phase 1 of their data center. By the way tomorrow is also the x-date for dividend.

With its expansion plans and entry into new markets, KGB is on a steady growth path which augurs well for its future profitability. I see a gradual growth in its share price too. Yesterday’s 21 cents jump was a pleasant surprise. Hopefully the momentum is carried through to today to achieve a new high.

An extract from KGB’s announcement:-
“Kelington is pleased to announce that its 90.71% owned subsidiary, Ace Gases Sdn Bhd has on 25 March 2024 commenced the liquid carbon dioxide production with an annual production capacity of up to 70,000 metric tons at the second LCO2 Plant located at Kertih, Terengganu.” The quarter April to June 24 results are going to have this LCO2 plant contribution. KGB is heading towards new highs. A gem of a counter.

Let me re-cap what Ranhill has that interest YTLP:-
1. Sole water supplier in Johor
2. IPP with 30% market share in Sabah
3. 50MW solar project in Perak
4. Others - water treatment in Thailand and China
See the synergies with Seraya Power in Singapore and Wessek in UK belonging to YTLP
2024-05-29 10:56 | Report Abuse
Ranhill also has the largest IPP in Sabah with 30% market share. Room to grow.

When everyone realise the takeover of Ranhill by YTLP is GOOD for Ranhill it share price will slowly go up. Don’t believe YTLP wants your share since they plan to maintain listed status

Good deal for Tan Sri Hamdan too. Not easy to find one buyer for all his shares. Negotiations must be going on for some time and probably started when Ranhill was below RM1

Dnex has 3 focus areas - Energy, Technology and IT & Innovation. All 3 have their own CEOs and can actually be independent companies. All play an important role for Dnex.

My wish list is to turn all three biz segments - Energy, Technology and IT - to profitability. Then to IPO list them while Dnex maintains control of the majority shares.

Folks, to make money in stocks, you need to have vision to see them, courage to buy them & patience to hold them. But sadly patience is the rarest of the three.

The lag time between buying into the counter and its entry into KLCI was about 2-3 weeks. It was included in KLCI on 18 December. Similarly there will be lag time between its entry into MSCI and buying from funds. Entry date into MSCI was 29 February.

The share holding issue between Dnex and CGP for Silterra needs to be resolved before the share price can move upwards significantly. There was a massive sell down when this was first announced. If my memory serves me rights I believe Dnex had said they expect the outcome of arbitration know first quarter 2024. Hope it is settled amicably. Than we will see some upward movement.

So if HSR is implemented the same will happen with the SIN-KUL air route. There will some adjustments. And airlines can still survive.
2024-02-21 19:15 | Report Abuse
The airlines are already adjusting to the worldwide situation. More flights to India and China and less to Europe. Good airlines will always survive by reviewing their routes and adding or reducing frequencies as and when required.

I am an advocate of the HSR. When we wanted to build the North South Highway there were many who said expensive and not worth it. Can we live without the North South Highway now? Same with HSR. We need to get the right model and the economic benefits to the country will be enormous. Air travel will still be there. But HSR will give more choices.

Expecting strong recovery post Covid. Good results coming.
2024-01-14 09:08 | Report Abuse
Hence my view is that the Govt must contribute $ to the HSR infrastructure due to the economic benefits. The operator will also then not be burdened by the infrastructure cost. Just my view.
2024-01-14 09:05 | Report Abuse
Building the HSR is not an issue. Ensuring that its operations are sustainable is the issue. The economic benefits surrounding the stations along the route will be tremendous. For JB, the LRT link to the HSR station is a must do. And we will see the economic growth in JB go on an upward trajectory.

Extract from last qtr results:-
The automotive industry in Malaysia recorded a strong performance during the first nine months of 2023.
As reported by the Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA), the total industry volume ("TIV") for the first nine months of 2023 stands at 571,767 units, which is an increase of 11.1% or 57,318 units compared to the same period last year. Based on the trajectory, the TIV for 2023 is expected to achieve the forecast of 725,000 units set by the MAA in July 2023. The upward momentum in the TIV is mainly supported by, among others, high level of backorder bookings, improvement in the automotive industry supply chain environment and new model launches. The Group is maintaining a cautiously optimistic outlook and expects orders to remain strong due to backorder bookings as well as the launch of new models during the year.
