I anticipate that this is just a trick to suppress the price of RHB shares to make the offer at RM 10.80 ~ RM 11.20 (close to 1.6 x book value) more attractive and acceptable to minor shareholders. A merger will always happen in a way that benefit the seller and the management who control the business in the end. If CIMB management is the one that rule in the end, then it must make majority of RHB shareholders happy for the deal to be successful. That's why the proposal is to sell everything back to CIMB Islamic bank finally.

I'm not sure if you all have seen a more than usual capital expenses for property, plant and equipment in the most recent quarter report. Could this mean capacity expansion? Can anyone tell whether or not it is now running at full capacity? If this is true then I think it is worth to hold on to it because this company is as efficient as Public Bank. Check the ROE.

lcng123, thanks for the recommendation. I'll take note.

lcng, me too. My loyalty will stay as long as the price is below RM 5 this 1~2 years. OSK was one of my options but not now. Luxchem could be another one which I already have enough for myself. It can be treated as 5~6% FD, and very cash rich. I bought at RM 1.20 so it is now a diluted honey. However I prefer a growing stock with good defence at 4~5% dividend yield such as Plenitu when it was below RM 3.00 (I already have enough because it is more than 10% of my total assets). Any other low risk medium return stock to buy for now?

Hi lcng123, I don't know why Plenitu wanted to buy Gurney Resort. I guess maybe it generates 7% ROI or maybe Plenitu is going to receive a lot of cash in near future with no new investment option. The 4 Point Hotel seems not making money.

followme1955, how would you know when the land would be re-valued? Thanks

Hi drmehran, my target price is RM 3.00 to RM 2.50 depending on how optimistic you are. The risk is the possibility of having to hold long long with little dividend.

Hi lcng, how many of the room is studio suite and how many is bedroom suite? I use 29% /(100%-25%)=39% to calculate profit margin. The 29% is Shangri-la's net profit margin whereas the denominator is to put back the taxed amount because the room rate on Agoda is excluding tax.

Any news about the joint venture? It spent more than 80 mil last year for property, plant and equipment. Anybody knows what is it for and is that a good investment?

Maybe some people are selling Hwang to buy OSK. Is there anyone got any idea about how profitable money lending business is?

How much return you all think or estimate that Gurney hotel will bring to Plenitude in term of annum profit / acquisition cost?
Stock: [PWROOT]: POWER ROOT BERHAD

It is cheap below 2, but expensive above 2. Because it is making profit, the wealth accumulates over time. Therefore, it is getting from fair to attractive. Base on this situation, I think that chances to go below 2.00 is low and it may be a small volume if it ever happen. Therefore, it is going to be hard to acquire below RM 2.00. It is easy to sell at RM 2.00, but it would be difficult to buy it back at RM 2.00 after that.
