Marina, you sounded very dejected.
In my opinion, the price is not likely to move much from what it is currently since the existing fundamentals of the company does not support a price level that is too much higher than it is today, unless the big boys ‘goreng’ up the share price.
Yes, the public is aware of the proposed major property project development which, if materialized, will positively change the fundamentals of Nexgram by leaps and bounds. Nevertheless, the public is also aware that Nexgram does not possess the experience in property development and neither has it the financial means to undertake such a project which can be considered as massive relative to its small balance sheet size.
For the share price to reflect the potential of the future income, it is in my opinion that the public must be made to feel confident that such potential income is going to be a reality, and it is only likely to happen if Nexgram teams up with a financially able and reputable contractor so as to minimise the risk of non-completion of the project. Teaming up with such contractors will likely increase Nexgram’s chances of securing bridging loan from the banks, or any other financial instruments required to finance the development. Until such time this part of the puzzle is made known to the public, the share price is unlikely to move much due to the expectation of fantastic future income stream, unless as I said earlier, the big boys push up the share price.
I, for one, do not think that the management is stupid enough to try to undertake the property development on their own, and not team up with capable contractors. As such, I will remain invested in Nexgram shares for a few months longer to see who the contractors are going to be and how they are going to finance the project. Once investors are confident that Nexgram can deliver, I will not be surprised if the share price more than double up in a jiffy.

It is very obvious who Alice is working for and her/his intention here. The more you engage with him/her, the more she will write. Just ignore her.

TPY & OKA are selling maybe to raise $$$ to finance their other corporate exercises like MPCORP for instance. Since they are selling at quite a fast pace, the price is definitely affected, but since the company is fundamentally strong, it is likely for the price to rebounce once they are done selling.

No worries Sam. As for Protasco's PP, you are assuming that the placement will be made to only one party instead of a few?

Agreed, and at current prices, selling 4WA can get 8LA, and the holder need not have to worry about having to fork out anymore money to get the mother shares, if they choose to convert.
2014-07-17 11:10 | Report Abuse
I think if all the WA holders were to read the prospectus and understand the LA better, they might just sell off their WA and buy the LA :)
2014-07-17 10:51 | Report Abuse
The LA has additional features as compared to the WA.
1) the LA carries a coupon of 1% p.a. (just like getting a guaranteed dividend annually)
2) the holders of the LA are in fact unsecured creditors of the company, which in the event of company liquidation ranks pari passu with all other unsecured creditors (i.e. after preferential & secured creditors but before subordinated debt holders, preferential & ordinary shareholders). The LA holders can claim 0.075 / LA (which is at its face value). The WA holders has no claim whatsoever, in such an event.
2014-07-16 18:24 | Report Abuse
Yes, topone the conversion price is 0.60, but unlike a warrant the LA has a nominal value or face value of 0.075. As such you can surrender any of the following for one mother share.
1LA + 0.525 = 0.60 OR
2LA + 0.450 = 0.60 OR
3LA + 0.375 = 0.60 OR
4LA + 0.300 = 0.60 OR
5LA + 0.225 = 0.60 OR
6LA + 0.150 = 0.60 OR
7LA + 0.075 = 0.60 OR
8LA + 0 = 0.60
2014-07-15 16:36 | Report Abuse
for those who believe that the mother can fall far below 56 cents, then just wait first, but for those who believes that 56 cents should be the floor, then at 7 cents, it is a safe buy.
2014-07-15 16:32 | Report Abuse
not likely for mother to drop to such level, but just to prove a point that the value of the LA will only be zero if mother is also zero.
2014-07-15 16:30 | Report Abuse
even if mother drop to 8 cents, the LA could still fetch 1 cent.
2014-07-14 20:57 | Report Abuse
It ought to be on the contrary, cytew. Judging by the volume done these past few days, chances are that the major shareholders would have sold off most of what LAs they have, thus reducing the selling pressure, going forward.

Gao, even if there is no further announcement of good news, I see that the potential returns/benefits from what they have already announced thus far, is sufficient to move the company to a higher level in the not too distant future.

Yup Gao, but I'll be holding on to my shares and warrants until the shares price is at least 16sen. Just have a feeling that the price will start to move after CNY if the global market sentiment does not deteriorate further.

Not necessarily so, if investors believe that the expected strengthening of the capital base arising from the rights issue & potential conversion of warrants, and the possible positive outcome of the numerous corporate exercises which will turn Nexnat into a different corporate entity, will augur well for the company.

Well JCool, you have a very valid point about the dilution in EPS due to the conversion, but I personally am not unduly worried as I believe in the biz of Barakah and its potential growth. IMHO, the theoretical reduction in share price, could be recoup in no time as long as the business continues to grow. This aspect is true for almost all shares where there are outstanding warrants.
My concern is with redemption coz' although the probability may be low as some have argued, there still remain the possibility. Should the LA be redeemed, then you can say that one will be damned coz you'll only get back RM0.20 after having paid say RM1.44/RCULS.
Whatever it is, each of us has different risk appetite. I for one can't afford to take too high a risk. As such I invested in Barakah shares instead of the RCULS. For those who can take higher risk, and therefore may potentially reap higher returns, they may opt for the RCULS instead of paying 31 sen or circa 20% extra for the mother shares (based on today's closing price), especially if they believe that the RCULS will never be redeemed.
What is important is for each of us to understand the features of the instruments and make decisions based on the understanding of the risk/reward profile. I'm here not to give any suggestion as to whether one should or shouldn't buy the RCULS, but to just highlight the important features which some of us may not be aware of.

Well Zamsaham, I was just trying to highlight the difference between RCLUS and a warrant for those who thinks that the RCULS is a warrant and therefore share the same risk. I am very aware of risk inherent in each of the product as I was heading a capital markets department in an investment banks for many years, and was involved in the issuance of these types of securities. I don't need to depend on blogs to understand them -- just that I found a write up which I thought clearly explained the inherent risk, and decided to share the link with those interested to know.
2014-01-12 16:49 | Report Abuse
Yes, the risk period is until October 24, 2014 (the first anniversary date) coz the convertibility of the LA only starts the day after. So long as buyers are aware of the potential risk, and understand that the risk profile of this RCULS is not the same as a warrant (at least until Oct 24, 2014), then the decision to buy is theirs to make.

Here's a good article to read before you decide to buy these RCULS.

Nicky, from my understanding, No. And, maturity date is not Oct 14, but Oct 24, 2018. As for the conversion price, the following is what is stated under the RCULS's Principal Terms & Conditions (see Prospectus, Appendix III, page 62):
Conversion price
Fixed at par value of RM0.20 per Barakah Share and shall be satisfied by surrendering one (1) RCULS of nominal value of RM0.20 each for every one (1) new Barakah Share
2014-01-11 22:32 | Report Abuse
Guys, for those who don't quite understand the features of Barakah' s 5-year 3.5% RCULS (redeemable convertible unsecured loan stocks) please study the prospectus carefully. You can find it here --- http://announcements.bursamalaysia.com/EDMS/subweb.nsf/all/0F3CE29E2A40D27248257BFA00187731/$File/BARAKAH-AbridgedProspectus.pdf
Please note that it has a feature akin to warrant i.e the convertibility feature, but it also has one feature which all holders should be aware of, i.e. the redeemable feature which effectively gives Barakah the right to redeem the RCULS based on the par value of RM0.20 each during the life of the RCULS.
The second feature is what all holders should be very mindful of.
