LONDON (Reuters) - Oil rebounded by almost 5% on Monday to US$76 a barrel as some investors viewed Friday's slump in oil and financial markets on concern about the Omicron coronavirus variant as overdone.

The World Health Organisation has said it could take weeks to understand the variant's severity, although a South African doctor who has treated cases said symptoms so far seemed to be mild.

吉隆坡28日讯）2020年总稽查司报告揭露，虽然MYEG线上申请准证服务公司延迟交付临时工作准证（PLKS）给申请者，但移民局没有向该公司追讨近7000万令吉的迟交罚款。

根据报告，总稽查司是在稽查移民局的外籍员工和财务部后发现，505639-K服务公司，即MYEG公司迟交临时工作准证给申请者，却没有被罚款7389万令吉。 

报告说，根据调查，在2020年12月31日间，有关服务公司有近4675张准证已印好，却没有交给申请的消费者，并已超过所规定的7天限期。

报告指，该公司也没有把相关准证交回给移民局，而调查发现，该4675张准证属活跃状态，但有300张已过期。

根据报告，迟交1至30天后，可罚款的数额是1363万令吉，此罚款从第8天至第38天开始计算，若该公司接着仍没有缴付罚款，罚款额则继续增至每天100令吉。

“共有4373张准证已超过30天没有交付，若以1天至415天迟交的天数来算，接下来所面对的罚款额是6026万令吉。”

移民局在回复总稽查司时表示，正在检查总稽查司的发现，并已发函通知有关服务公司。

另外，总稽查司报告也表示，有关服务公司虽然延迟汇款给部门，但移民局却没有向它追讨49万令吉的罚款。

报告说，移民局也没有针对印错临时工作准证，而向该服务公司追讨731万令吉罚款。

报告总结，移民局在监督MYEG公司的线上申请临时工作准证中存有弱点，同时没有追讨总共约8169万令吉的罚款。

“这是因为双方的合约中对罚款事项的说明不明确，移民局也没有完全去执法。”
