So low already can't get any worse. If go lower, more people will buy as it has become a cheaper lottery ticket 🤣

This counter is a long long long term holding counter. At below 6.00 it is a good business at fantastic price. Just like TNB below 9.00, Wesport below 3.50 and SIME below 2.20. Problem I am having now is no more fund to average down the cost of my current holding

70 to 75 pct of the company’s revenue is generated outside malaysia. So impact of diesel rationalisation will have some impact but not too much i suppose

next Friday 31 May is MSCI index rebalancing day. Maxis weighting in the index has fallen because other components stock prices have gone up since the last rebalancing day. Anyone has any idea what that will do to maxis share price come this Friday?

Thank you for the guidance speakup and 1DERFUL. It seems I will need to do some self reflection of my risk appetite/tolerance. Will do that and decide on my action. 🖖

Question for all the experience player here from a newbie... My main aim to invest is to get better returns than FDs or unit trust... so far its been well. But for the first time in 3 yrs, it is February and I already made 10% return from the value of my investment - luck I guess. So should I just sell everything and put money on FD for the rest of the year or should I continue to commit in the market? What would you do?

Buy Axiata for its indonesian operations. Over time, that will get bigger and more profitable. Edotco is a bonus. And good riddance of its Nepal ops🙂

PORT KLANG SEALS THE THIRD SUPPLEMENTAL AGREEMENT FOR THE
PRIVATISATION OF WESTPORTS
PUTRAJAYA, 8 DECEMBER 2023 - The Government of Malaysia, Port Klang
Authority (PKA), and Westports Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. wrote a new chapter in history
today with the signing of the Third Supplemental Agreement for the Privatisation of
Westports, witnessed by YB. Loke Siew Fook, Minister of Transport Malaysia.
Previously, the Westports Privatisation Agreement (Original) between the Government
of Malaysia, Port Klang Authority (PKA), and Westports Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (formerly
known as Kelang Multi Terminal Sdn. Bhd.) was signed for a period of 30-years
effective from 1 September 1994 to 31 August 2024. The new concession which will
extend a period of 58 years from 2024-2082 will include the existing port facilities in
Westports and the new facilities to be developed during the concession period
involving an investment of RM 39.6 billion.
The expansion of the Westports terminal (CT10 to CT17) is expected to increase its
capacity from 14 million TEUs to 27 million TEUs based on projections until 2082. The
development of the CT10 to CT17 container terminal will be carried out on
sustainability principles, in line with green and smart port concepts, including the use
of automation and digitalization that will not only reduce greenhouse gas emissions
but also future-proof the port. The new development will provide the necessary port
facilities and services to meet future demands to support the nation's economic
growth.
The Government of Malaysia has also extended full support to this initiative in Port
Klang, where the development of maritime infrastructure is a priority in enhancing the
country's economy. The cooperation and collaboration between the public and private
sector in this dynamic industry without doubt will build a brighter future for Malaysia's
port and shipping industry.

Business fundamental still intact it seems...."... Group PBT for the current quarter was RM133.2 million, marginally lower than the immediate preceding quarter of RM134.1 million..."
Group PBT for the current quarter at RM138.5 million was significantly lower than the immediate preceding quarter of RM729.1 million mainly due to the gain arising from the disposal of HCML in the immediate preceding quarter. Excluding gain from disposal of subsidiaries disclosed in Note 5 below, Group PBT for the current quarter was RM133.2 million, marginally lower than the immediate preceding quarter of RM134.1 million.

I hope Sime’s Board will not just rubber stamp buying a 4 ringgit NTA per share company at 5 ringgit. Blatant daylight robbery. Dont be incompetent and do your job!

Looking at the financial statement, reduction in profit due to revenue decline are all explained and analysts are focused on this … but no explanation can be found for the substantial increase in expenses/cost of sales. Honest mistake or diversion… are they hiding something?

Perhaps one question to the experienced traders in this forum, is getting 8% return on consistent basis from self investing in the stock market possible or a reasonable expectation?

Thank you Novice296 for your thoughts. I also share your thoughts. In the early days, I am quite content with leaving my retirement fund managed by KWSP and they often give good returns circa 6% plus. But recently, the KWSP returns have been not so great i.e. around 5% plus. And with global recession expected, dividend rate may fall further. Having said that 70% of my retirement fund is already managed by KWSP. Am hoping to get better returns by investing directly in the stock market, mainly the blue chips. I am careful not to touch the seasonal or speculative ones. My curiosity is whether my asset allocation of 10% being self managed is exposing my retirement fund to too much risk. My goal is to beat KWSP returns on consistent basis and getting somewhere around 8% would be sweet.

Thank you MAX8186 for sharing your thoughts. Taking note of the home work needed and the sectors recommended. Your comments have given me some assurance about my portfolio size. Reason I am asking this question because while I am beginning to be comfortable with 20k fluctuation in value of my portfolio, volatility in recent September of nearly 50k makes me think twice about whether I am allocating too much to manage by myself... thankfully now it is looking better than before. Cheers!

Tq cwc1981. Certainly not playing with expense money. The situation is that, currently the amount i am putting in the market to manage on my own is roughly about 10% of my total pension+savings. Would that be deemed as too much or imprudent? I am in mid forties and hope will be able to retire and pursue my interest after retirement. Appreciate the community views here. Many thanks in advance.

Hi everyone, i am relatively new to the market roughly about two years. I have made some and lose some. But developments in the last three months where I made the most loss … made me think about the amount of money I should commit in the stock market. I am not sure whether I am putting too much, too little or just right. Could anyone share whats their view of average amount typically people put in stock to play on their own
