I guess eventually it will move as the major shareholders may not want to sell their plantation land anymore. CPO today is RM 7.2k. With higher orders for electronics segment, i think quarter results will be satisfactory. So just be patient.

@Sharefisher Yeah, i am waiting their REITs proposal hopefully and outcome of Award, write back in provision in addition to recovery theme. Amongst recovery counters such as GenM, AA, Airports, WCT is still a good proxy at current price. Not putting all in one basket.
@FF, while i agree with you WCT may not be the best construction counter, it still has some good points in it and sizeable order book and the above catalyst. When the entire construction sector gets an upgrade in the near term, things may change. If you look at current market environment, all has moved except construction and property. Some may have moved but not as much as others.

Well i think no one will put everything in one basket for recovery theme but spread out in few other potential counters, WCT being one of it and not all of it. Back to basic question, both GenM and AA has gone up so much, will you still be buying it at today's price? Recovery will take at least months from now...

Few more possible catalysts such as write back on provisions post pandemic and success of the compensation award whether partial or full over RM 1B along with revival of large scale projects in months to come. Personal opinion i think WCT is a good proxy compared to over priced GenM and AA at this point in time

Govt wants to push agenda of Malaysia becoming high income nation and for this to happen is to bring in large scale projects and construction to drive this. Lets be patient. This will happen subsequent to Covid2019 recovery

Hi Phyroxus, not necessary down. When GenM and Airasia report billions of losses, the share price is green. As i say, market is pricing in optimism amidst a recovery

The boss obviously knows about the company results but he is steadily buying in. As recovery kicks in along the way, the price is likely to recover. If not mistaken, WCT was 80 sen to RM 1 range before MCO1.0. if we apply GenM as example, GenM price now (RM 3.18) is even higher than it was in Feb 20 (RM 3). The market is pricing in optimism and recovery theme.

I think the catalyst now and going forward will be speed and success of vaccination, reopening of state borders as recovery themes, plus stability of politics and expectations of GE15 and eventually much anticipated 12th Malaysia and revivals of large infrastructure projects

WCT has 5 malls and 2 hotels, so the impact of Covid2019 will be higher than its Construction peers. If you read Qtr Rpt, all their business segments is churning a operating profit. With more people being vaccinated, govt says no more MCO, i believe the share price will recover. The major shareholder buying is a testament to my view. WCT is proposing a final dividend of 1 treasury share. If we look at GenM, report staggering loss but price is upwards

WCT in my opinion is a Gem and a good proxy to covid2019 recovery. With good construction jobs, a good portfolio of property investments that can be injected to Pavilion REITs or form an own Reit by itself, last but not least the over a billion award which could be materialised maybe lesser is still a positive outcome for long term investors.

Hi Tumbler, yes very good analysis. I bought based on the same reasons you highlighted. 2 more points. The investment properties can be formed as a REIT either by itself or merge with Pavilion Reits. One more catalyst would be the Billion award winning in UAE which i believe somehow WCT will be able to collect in future perhaps smaller amount. Very undervalued. Good proxy for Covid2019 recovery

If Scope management is selling, the plantation should fetch a good price. Even if it is not selling, yes i reckon quarter results will be good one
