Hi Ben,
Do you keep tracking these:"2. Net buyers and net sellers of Supermax stock for the week of 15-19 February" for subsequent week?

Thanks Ben for the PV analysis which are very informative. Just a clarification questions, I noticed in Supermax 31-December 2020 BS, there was Prepayment received from customers at 1,477,430 in current liability, any reason you didn't substrate this amount from the cash on ~3.7B?

@lee_m2020 this is misleading...as Pelikan International has been reporting losses almost every 4th quarter in last few years!

Other than TGIF and Teh Tarik Place, the $25 mil investment in Quangxi Aerospace Beidou companies via Hong Kong vehicle is very fishy! The so called low cost Ruthenium battery with 10X more storage capacity and 10X more durable will be jewel of PRC if true is unlikely to be sold to overseas company!

Unlikely this tiny companies ( and Bintai, Yong Tai and etc) without track record can eventual deliver vaccine in Malaysia...even if they can, what can their value be? Simple, even big glove companies with decades of track records and making billions now, PER using latest Qtr are mostly in single digit, most analyst are not daring to give them high valuation because these are supernormal! So even if this tiny companies pull through a miracle for the so called covid-19 vaccine distribution JV, how long and how much can they make? Are we feeding the sharks?
2020-12-10 10:35 | Report Abuse
Yong Tai plan to raise RM90 mil through private placement to pay dues to main contractors of Impression Melaka and Impression U-Thant! So that tell a lot the company is in very poor financial health! The stock being goreng to let’s major shareholders to cash out some in open market!

If you are playing with 10% of your Capital for Bintai, Solution, HWGB and etc, have fun. But if you put in 90% of what you have, be prepared to pick up yourself later.

Even if the top 3 Chinese vaccine approved for Malaysia, it will not be through small fries like Bintai or Solution...wait up! If you have made money - cash out, if you haven’t enter - don’t gamble with shark, if you are stuck- too bad!

Hard to see value in this stock! It is not smart to believe in the vaccine news!

Daily88, this stock do have a profitable biz, unlike many recent covid-19 vaccines rumors losing money counters! But the eps will need to grow a lot base on current price of ~17.5 sen that is already doubled what TS Chan paid for at 8.5 sen and probably why Nirwana boss cashout on opportunity.
2020-12-09 09:53 | Report Abuse
In the last few days, they goreng the vaccine news that caused a spike which allowed a major shareholder in HK to cash out at almost 40 sen a share for 7.3% of the company shares worth RM29mil!

Some report said it was just a transfer from the biggest shareholders before this. But at the same time, Nirwana boss another TS ceased to be the major shareholder about the same time.

In the Bursa declaration TS Chan was financed by PBB, not sure if margin Financing. But 228Mil shares at 8.5 sen was less than RM20Mil!

Did you hear so many companies JV for vaccines in Singapore? Invest base on their core biz of property development, else we likely get burn!

But TS Chan got the 228Mil shares at 8.5sen per share...versus now.

This stock has total 1.402Bil shares and today up to now transacted 0.674Bil shares, so who is frying? Just be careful is a all out "goreng"...the company has not make a meaningful profit for 9 quarters!

Good opportunity to run if we have stuck too long in this stock! All the news are likely hot air as why will reputable vaccine companies want to partner all these small fries all with bad track records!

On 1-12-2020, the 228 mil shares (~10%) of this stock changed hand ar substantial shareholder to ex MCA minister for 8.5 sen for whatever reason but even the best for last 4 Qtr eps only 0.15 sen!

Realistically, as their main Market for now are Germany, the rest of Europe and South America, their schools opening are in Q3 of the year.
I hope to see Pelikan able to turn a profit for Q4 which shall proof the company stock worth at least 2 times current price!

Actually Q3'2020 PBT (RM21.2M) was slightly higher than Q2'2020 (RM20.6) but Q2 was zero tax that was why the PAT lower at RM15M!

I wish you are right...but it depend on what is the projection for Q4'2020 EPS. This stock 52 weeks high is only RM0.59 even though its NTA is RM0.75! The company has not been very successful in last 3 qtrs to expand SEA, Far East include China and Middle East business.

Many may already forgotten Pelikan sold 10% stake to Nazir's PE firm Ikhlas Capital in Q3 2019 ay RM0.39 a share with a premium of about 15.73%.

This stationery stock is likely a slow and steady one instead being "goreng" up and down!

If we look at 4.45 sen YTD EPS and if Q4’20 EPS continue positive (Q4 usually a tough Qtr for Pelikan after school open completed), Pelikan is much better bet than many listed so called ‘hot’ companies in Bursa! Furthermore, stationery biz are so much easier to manage and predict as compare to many others.
Confession: I own some Pelikan shares pick up last 2 weeks.

Well done Ben for your always fact driven and neutral writings. Keep it up as rarely see writer in i3 forum try as hard to keep it this way. Not many have the knowledge and time to gather those information for them as a guide to make their own investment decision. Nobody will always right. I hope more people entering the forum, particularly this one will practice constructive argument instead of emotional venting which serve no good for anyone.
