MKHOP IPO - Ripe for the listing
🇮🇩🌴MKHOP is an upstream oil palm operator who cultivates oil palm, produces and sells CPO (92% of FY9/23 revenue) and palm kernel (PK - 8%) to the downstream refineries and PK crushing mills in East Kalimantan, Indonesia.
🌴As at 29 February 2024 (LPD), MKHOP owns 2 oil palm estates through its subsidiaries, PT MKH and PT SPS with a total planted area of 15,012.4 ha and 1,996.4 ha respectively (> 90% of its total estates size). 94.9% of oil palm trees are in the prime mature stage ranging from 10 to 16 years.
Is the company profitable?
🔺The group posted a steady revenue and core net profit CAGR of 6% and 20% respectively in FY20-23.
As at LPD, the company has an outstanding sale and purchase agreements of 49,000MT of CPO and 1,800MT of PK to be fulfilled in FY24, while 28,000MT of CPO will be delivered in FY25. Note that, our in-house average CPO price forecast for 2024F stands at RM3,700/MT.
Post-IPO growth strategies
🔭 New land banks acquisition with an estimated size of 5,000 ha (planted area c.4,000-4,500 ha) in Kutai Kartanegara, East Kalimantan.
🔭 New products offerings include production of CPKO and PKE – offers better margin from CPKO as it is generally a higher-value product as compared to PK.
🔭 Purchases of new machinery and equipment with workforce recruitment to enhance operational efficiency, ie. to improve oil extraction rate.
Key growth drivers:
1) Rising demand of CPO driven from both food and non-food applications in line with world population growth, and
2) Acquisition of plantation landbanks to increase its market share.
Valuation?
• The IPO price of RM0.62 values MKHOP at 20.9x FY23 P/E (vs. Bursa Malaysia Plantation Index 2022 and 2023 P/E of 9.9x and 15.6x respectively, according to Bloomberg).
⏳ Closing date for the IPO application will be on 16 April 2024. The group will be listed on Bursa Malaysia’s Main Market on 30 April 2024.

Research and recommendations by Analysts have their merits. Sometimes the analyst covering a company may receive certain "news" in advance by speaking to the management of the company, or attending analyst briefing conducted by the company.
One good example is this research report on Perisai that expects the company to win an FPSO contract soon - http://klse.i3investor.com/blogs/kltrader/20548.jsp. 2 days after the report was out, Perisai successfully bagged the contract - http://klse.i3investor.com/blogs/kltrader/20607.jsp. So those who followed the earlier recommendations would have profited from the initial call by that analyst.
Of course there are also unscrupulous analysts who provided the recommendations solely to encourage buying or selling of shares by the readers. We just have to do our own analysis before deciding to buy or sell. Also, by comparing the Price Target recommendations from several analysts, we tend to get a more balanced view on the stock.
Once we've done enough homework and research ourselves, we will be able to distinguish honest analysts who provided fair and accurate recommendations, vs bad analysts who just don't do a professional job in the report. Personally I feel OXX recommendations sucks (company name intentionally hidden), but comments from others are welcome :)

tonylim - i fully agree with you.
This is a free forum and nobody should dictate how others should write here, though this may result in a few spiteful attacks from some forumers.
There are still many good and healthy discussions this this forum. I guess we just have to ignore the noises as what some suggested before.
I believe everyone here has the ultimate intention to make $$$ from the market. So lets not be distracted by the noises along the path to our goal.

I can see that many of cpteh's recent posts are generating many comments from others - especially the ones where he is "attacked" by AlbertLim and Fat Cat.
I wonder if all this attention is actually doing good in promoting him further..
I guess an honest and genuine man will prevail in the end..

To be fair to cpteh, I don't think he needs to defend anything since he is not doing anything wrong by expressing his thoughts through blog.. Through his postings, there are bound to have people who like or dislike him.
Perhaps he may respond to positive and constructive comments from people who supported him, and just ignore the so call "noices" from people who don't appreciate his postings.
The funny thing is, if people find his postings distasteful, then they can just ignore his blog.. why read them and then attack him here?

Current result is largely based on estimates - because not all votes have been counted yet.
But yes, he is leading in most "battleground" states.. so it is likely he will win this election.
Most media tend to publish the "projected" results as though they are final in order to capture the reader's attention first. This will boost their popularity..

US presidential election is like a grand party, where the supporters from each camp can freely show their support on the streets, at the parks, next to each other.
There is no hatred among people just because one is supporting a different party than other. Candidates talk about their plan on how to build the nation - and not negative personal attack on each other.
In my opinion, this is a true demonstration of matured democracy and free election to the rest of the world.

There was an investor who had three girlfriends, but he didn't know which one to marry. So he decided to give each one $5000 and see how each of them spends it.
The first one goes out and gets a total make over with the money. She gets new clothes, a new hairdo, manicure, pedicure, the works, and tells the investor, 'I spent the money so I could look pretty for you because I love you so much.'
The second one went out and bought new golf clubs, a CD player, a television, and a stereo and gives them to the man. She says, 'I bought these gifts for you with the money because I love you so much.'
The third one takes the $5000 and invests it in the stock market, doubles her investment, returns the $5000 to the man and reinvests the rest. She says, 'I am investing the rest of the money for our future because I love you so much.'
The man thought long and hard about how each of the women spent the money, and then decided. Q: Who did the investor marry?

2% or 98%
This is strange...Are u the 98% or are u unusual? Tell me abt it!
Are you the 2% or 98% of the population?
Follow the instructions! NO PEEKING AHEAD!
Do the following exercise, guaranteed to raise an eyebrow.
There's no trick or surprise.
Just follow these instructions, and answer the questions one at a time and as quickly as you can!
Again, as quickly as you can but don't advance until you've done each of them ... really.
Now, scroll down (but not too fast, you might miss something).
Think of a number from 1 to 10
Multiply that number by 9
If the number is a 2-digit number, add the digits together
Now subtract 5
Determine which letter in the alphabet corresponds to the number you ended up with
(example: 1=a, 2=B, 3=c,etc.)
Think of a country that starts with that letter
Remember the last letter of the name of that country
Think of the name of an animal that starts with that letter
Remember the last letter in the name of that animal
Think of the name of a fruit that starts with that letter
Are you thinking of (from right to left):
"Orange an eating Denmark in Kangaroo a"
I told you this was FREAKY!! If not, you're among t he 2% of the population whose minds are different enough to think of something else. 98% of people will answer with kangaroos in Denmark when given this exercise.

cklcolin10: it depends on the capital and experience you have. If you are practicing safe investment (i.e. no speculative trades) and targeting a return of about 10%-20% per year for a start, then you will need to have 600k capital to generate return of 60k - 120k per year in theory.
I'm sure you need more capital in real practical trades as you may not be fully invested at all times (risk management) and need the extras to cushion the losses at times.

Traditionally, the US economy will do better when a Democratic president is in office. Perhaps Mr. Obama just inherited too much problems from the Bush era.
