Break 45c today...great co....

KUALA LUMPUR: Dagang Nexchange Bhd (DNeX) is expanding on its business-to-business offerings by focusing on five growth areas.

These areas are trade facilitation, financial and accounting services, RFID solutions, portable container systems, as well as scaling up of its upstream oil and gas business.

Speaking after its AGM, group managing director Zainal Abidin Jalil (pic) said DNeX is competing and building scale in the trade facilitation services segment.

“We are working with the Pan Asian Alliance community and other international players to establish our presence in cross-border trade facilitation.

“We are expanding our target market in the Asian Pacific and we have to create value by integrating cross-border connectivity with all players in the Asia-Pacific,” he said.

DNeX is targeting to grow its revenue by 30% and increase its net profit by 20% over the next two years.

For the financial year ended Dec 31, 2017 (FY17), DNeX registered a revenue of RM204mil, of which the IT and e-services segment constituted 69% while the energy segment accounted for the remaining 31%.

Net profit in FY17 fell 53.5% to RM56.6mil, due to a one-off recognition of negative goodwill of RM88.9mil arising from the acquisition of Ping Petroleum Ltd in FY16.

Apart from that, DNeX shall scale up and build its strengths in the services and offerings in recently acquired consulting and accounting system services companies, Genaxis Sdn Bhd and Innovation Associates Consulting Sdn Bhd (IAC).

The acquisition comes with a yearly profit guarantee of RM5mil for a total of three years.

Genaxis and IAC are expected to achieve a combined revenue of RM50mil to RM60mil by year-end.

Meanwhile, DNeX also intends to tender for the vehicle entry permit (VEP) and road charge (RC) systems project at the Malaysia-Thailand border.

Zainal said the group is working on the proposal, but declined to elaborate further.

As for the energy segment, DNeX is setting up a joint-venture company to establish its market presence in the small-scale renewable energy sector.

The group shall also continue to seek additional opportunities in the North Sea, and achieve a balanced and diversified portfolio of assets.

DNeX intends to secure additional exploration blocks of oilfields this year.

On the new government and its pro-business stance, Zainal said with DNeX being a technology-inclined company, the group is well-positioned to participate in open tender systems and compete based on merit.

Looks like the future of eGovt services are firmly in the hands of Dnex. Good transparent company with strong knowhow and deliverables, just what the PH government and the people of Malaysia needs. A company whom can deliver quality services, without any scandal nor favor.

Luck not on MyEg's side at all....just when the share bounces a little another challenge...their key insurance partner RHB is now launching their own app for direct renewal.

#########################

KUALA LUMPUR (June 5): RHB Insurance Bhd, which provides general insurance for retail and corporate customers, is banking on its newly launched mobile app to get gross written premium (GWP) of RM5 million from new policy holders over the next 12 months.

“Our [long term] target is to generate 10% of our GWP from the digital channel in three to five years. “In the first year, we don’t expect it to generate that figure (10%), [but] are looking at about RM5 million premium from 10,000 policy holders who buy the insurance," said RHB Insurance managing director-cum-chief executive officer Kong Shu Yin.

“As people become more aware [of the app] and we add more features to it, we expect customers' pick-up rate will go up exponentially in three to five years,” he told reporters after launching the app today.

For the fourth quarter ended Dec 31, 2017, motor insurance remained the company's largest contributor, delivering 33% of its total GWP.

Kong said the RHB Insurance Mobile App is a simple, fast and seamless way to purchase motor insurance policy and renew road tax with a single end-to-end mobile-enabled application. The app, which cost less than RM1 million to be developed, also alllows customers to access round-the-clock auto assistance.

Kong is confident the RHB Insurance Mobile App will be a catalyst in transforming the way customers purchase and monitor their insurance and road tax renewal.

RHB Insurance also launched its “Dah Cover Campaign” yesterday to encourage Malaysians to obtain personal accident and travel insurance coverage, while travelling across Malaysia. During the campaign period that runs till Sept 4, customers can get a 40% discount on such insurance coverage.

RHB Insurance is the 10th largest insurer in Malaysia with 4.3% market share for gross direct premium and ranks Top 10 insurers for fire and Top 5 insurer for medical and health coverage.

NTA 19cents. USP not so unique anymore. Interesting conversation with my sifu, .....if the relationship is with the bosses and the system is already developed, why not replicate it to a new company and build up the revenue stream privately....true also hor, like most internet eCom/social marketing companies. Once the brand has out run its popularity or damaged, just rebrand and go...copy paste biz.

With the disposal from directors, they could create many new avenues with a clean slate using the same tech backbone. Gloomy days for this counter. Unfortunately this is the world of IT and services. Once tainted, no more goodwill.

This is why am so confused, @Cindy Lee - SST is coming back but what has it got to do with MyEg? trade portal side is managed by DNex and they handle the backend for Jabatan Kastam. For any sdn bhd co, they go to their respective accounting software providers like IFCAMNC right.

I thought MyEg only fronting JPN, JPJ, PDRM Saman, eZakat and some local licensing applications.

Today down because of announcement on PATI, no more renewals through agents....but we dunno who is selling and who is buying, and if its shark play. Bouncing around till mabuk no feeling already.
