Won’t be 1.9. Can’t value KPJ like normal hospital as they don’t own most of the hospital as it’s been spun off to REIT. Plus talking about VC/PE, and in this case TPG that bough Columbia, they must have idea to combine, restructure and relist. At most probably 1.4-1.5.

the fact that its trading at 7.5% for 3mths (annualized to 30%) tenure already screamed to everyone that there are still prevailing risks right? as compared to FD's risk free rate @1.85% PA. otherwise, this share will be trading at 1.99 now.

in shock and disbelieve why are you arguing. doubt his opinion and vote will matter. if you are worried this might fail, sell. if you want to support the stock, buy and REMEMBER TO VOTE so that your decision counts.

Also at 56.5cents closing. Downside is minimal. The only thing you lose is time value. Just convert it into margin and your holding cost is like 4-6%? If it bounce to 80cents. Your upside would be 40%?

Actually am curious. Why don’t LTAT force BSTEAD to pay these list co holding shares out as dividend in specie? They can immediately book in the cap gains

I doubt any of the initiative is as effective as just privatising Boustead. Somehow reading whatever materials out there and the different accounts in i3 leading to the lapse, seems like there were rifts between Boustead and LTAT direction.

How is it possible that nobody were not able to meet minister? LTAT has so many Generals inside.
Another theory is that this deal has been tainted by politicking / sabotage. Which explains the multiple leaks (either attempts to derail or force deal to go through)

bad timing to choose to meet minister. today they are meeting to decide on what type of MCO we are going into after 4th Feb

what is there to speculate? just set your IRR to 80cents and let anything higher be a bonus.

i wonder if investors would reject any offer by pushing the share above the offer price. 80c is too low IMHO. Someone should call Dr Yu Kuan Chong and do another HLCAP

Privatization are usually well kept secret especially gov owned one. Believe some party might hv leaked out to sabotage and edge was just the vehicle.
And can’t believe someone would just publicly admit to insider trading.

well, bloomberg did leaked Boustead privatization and look at how it ended up.

I wonder who are their CF advisor. Affin? AFAIK, their CF are very competent and won't leave deal to be drag so long with no material announcement unless advised by 3rd rate CF team.

quick check on the SC's take over guideline:
Holding announcements under paragraph 9.07
3. An offeror shall announce his firm intention to make a take-over offer within
two months from his first preliminary announcement unless an extension of
time has been granted by the SC.
any possibility of extension? they are cutting it close since everyone eyeing on month end.

3 scenario that might turn out.
1) LTAT recoup gains from investment loses with share recovery and push this back to old price or more. GO nullified.
2) Share price continue to rally and LTAT have to offer higher price (since offer no longer attractive) seeing rerating & fresh catalyst from indirect holdings in PHARMA.
3) GO fail & vaccine theme dies off. Share goes to 20 cents as dooms day advocate predicts.
Wonder which will be the case.

its different la. price dropping was due to Bloomberg's leak causing price runup. leak also cause the deal to be exposed to surface prematurely.

bro. you got margin with kucing bank or not wan. they never cut their capping la. in fact, they were the slowest broker that increase the capping. funny thing is, the june capping revision is in fact an increase from even lower position. few of us had to complain so many times for them to do revision.

Since RHB will no longer exist in the coming months, the CF advisor can just hide behind the fleeting brand ma. Announced -79% profit 2 days before IPO, are you saying the CF didnt know prior to the listing? They probably learned from MOL GLOBAL. Not sure if the investors can file a class action suit against them.

Part and parcel of consolidation process, sellers at this price point have been exhausted while people like CS have been buying everyday. IRR for investor looks good at this point of time with 17% yield to maturity. If I have the money, I would buy 25% and vote any potential deal off for the yield.

btw, i am also invested in the Sona warrant and i believe that one of the exit signs for the warrant is when the warrant premium turns zero.
2014-05-29 19:50 | Report Abuse
One of my observation from hibiscus' price movement compare to its warrant was that there was a point where warrant will trade at a deep discount over mother share which raise some questions. why hibiscus warrant trades with discount? operator not in warrant? mother price was purposefully pushed up so that people switch to warrant to get caught? if so, whats the rationale? hoping those warrant holders will keep the warrant with 'hope' analysis and upon expiry, convert? Anyway, if anyone here has a Bloomberg subscription, you can see the change in premium with GR<GO> function. Hope if this happens to SONA-WA, nobody here will be hurt.

Stock: [ASTRO]: ASTRO MALAYSIA HOLDINGS BERHAD
2024-03-27 20:52 | Report Abuse
my 2c,
ASTRO should shed its DTV business model and streamline to be a content aggregator. 1st order of business is to make a full pivot towards full broadband and then merging with MAXIS.
Touching abit on MAXIS, having to compete with the current enlarged CelcomDigi and Malaysia gov's decision to force telcos to subscribe to DNB's 5g have caused MAXIS to have very little differentiating service. Same goes to MAXIS' wholesale purchase of HSBB from TM which are equally cut throat where subscriber will switch between TM depending promotion.
For the uninitiated, calling ASTRO as sunset in uncalled for. It's MEASAT and DTV that's a sunset business. As for ASTRO, it remains as the primary source of local content for the community and will most likely here to stay.
Lastly, for those people that compares ASTRO againts the like of NETFLIX, HBO+, Disney etc etc. Do you know that ASTRO offers bundle with those foreign streaming platform? Rather than having to manage several subscription, ASTRO's bundle offers a lot of value.
By merging ASTRO and MAXIS, believe there will be huge synergy to my points above. The only stumbling block to the merger above is the consideration of MEASAT's existence which to me is a huge conflict of interest.
