guys, why should PETRONAS takeover icon? to speakup there is no such thing as merger even if icon wants it ; nobody wants to merge with icon. a company is good if the performance is good. here icon could hardly manage itself with the current fleet and poor maintenance of its vessel. In O and G performance and HSE is the criteria .PETRONAS don't give out contract just because you are a government company. it is based on performance.

my friend so many of the vessels are laid up and when the market is up again they have to spend a lot of money to bring the vessel to class and it takes time.

hello rich, nothing special about the umbrella contract, many other have it too. they still need to bid for the dcr before the contract is awarded. Alam , Silk, and many other non listed osv companies secured the contracts too. And rich, even if Icon is majority owned by government their chances of grttingjobs are like others too. no preference as far as PETRONAS is concern. you good service you will be rewarded and if you screw up by giving poor services and poor performance you will have your vessels laid up at anchorage. I have been in this business far too long not to understand PETRONAS ways. you bagus you kerja as you performance will have a chain reaction to other related parties.
