So, Malaysians from Terengganu, Kelantan, Sabah and Sarawak are being denied their rights (according to the Federation Agreement that says natural resources belong to the states and not to the federal government) so that Malaysians in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur (plus those in Penang, Kedah, Perak, Johor, etc.) can enjoy a free life. And that is why the government can only pay Terengganu, Kelantan, Sabah and Sarawak 5% Oil Royalty and not 20% Oil Royalty. They need the money to allow 20% of Malaysians to live a free life at the expense of 80% of Malaysians.

The fact is, once you remove toll charges and pay compensation to the highway concessionaires, it will be the taxpayers who will be paying. Billions will be spent in compensation so that 20% of Malaysians who own more than 50% of the cars can benefit. That money could instead be used to develop states such as Terengganu, Kelantan, Sabah and Sarawak that are supplying Malaysia’s petroleum.

Hence, if they remove toll charges, then 20% of Malaysians who own more than 50% of the cars will benefit. And if they pay compensation to the highway concessionaires (as they will have to according to the concession agreement if they remove the toll charges) then 80% of Malaysians who own less than 50% of the cars will be paying for 20% of Malaysians who own more than 50% of the cars to have free highway use.

About 20% of Malaysia’s 32 million population live in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur. There are about 14 million cars on Malaysian roads. More than 50% of the cars are in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur. Most of the toll highways are also in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur.

They take 100% of the oil revenue from Terengganu, Kelantan, Sabah and Sarawak and give back just 5%. Then they give this money to places such as Selangor and Kuala Lumpur. People in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur want no GST, no toll charges, low petrol prices, free health and education, and much more. But all this will be paid for from the petroleum revenue from Terengganu, Kelantan, Sabah and Sarawak.

Umno is supposed to own RM100 billion or maybe even double that. The fact that no one really knows whether Umno owns RM100 billion or RM200 billion is because the so-called trustees who are supposed to be holding Umno’s wealth through nominees refuse to declare what the real amount is. If they did then they would have to hand it all back to Umno

The next question that needs to be asked is how much is Umno really worth? Is it RM100 billion or RM200 billion or more? Does Najib even know or are the trustees and their nominees not talking?

And finally, the most important question of all: who are these trustees and nominees and why aren’t they handing back to Umno what they are holding in trust on behalf of the party?

Yes, I think that last question is the more important of the many.

Oh, yes, and another question, is it true that Najib is pressuring Umno’s trustees and their nominees to return everything they are holding supposedly on behalf of Umno? And are they refusing to do so? And is this why they want Najib ousted, so that they need not return Umno’s wealth that is under their names?

And that was how the 2013 general election was financed with the full knowledge of Bank Negara, who had to approve such a large sum of money coming into the country in the first place or else the money would not be able to be brought in.

So the issue here would be can Najib reveal who donated that large sum of money? Najib said he was prepared to do so if the opposition, too, revealed where its money came from and who the donors are.

But the opposition would not want to do that. They not only want to protect the identity of the donors but also would not want the public to know how much money they have. So Najib will wait for the opposition to first reveal its source of funding before he reveals his.

You see, these girls started work between 11-13 but in just a couple of years many died due to suicide, opium and diseases. Almost all the girls had the pox and would die in just a few years. Those that ran away were hunted down and killed. The Malays and British did not interfere. And the leaders decided what happens and anyone who questions their leaders or even dares to raise his face and look the leader in the eye would be executed.

So the Chinese in Singapore, who had come from China just a decade or two before that, were very much involved in the opium trade in China. They financed the British through taxes on opium, prostitution and plantations to not only develop and run Singapore but to wage war against China as well, a very important market for opium, plus a very important source for girls aged 11-13 to restock the brothels in Singapore.

I am currently studying the early history of Singapore over the last 200 years to understand how that tiny island-state became an economic powerhouse. It is a most interesting study because undoubtedly it was the Chinese in collaboration with the British and the Johor Royal Family that made Singapore into what it is today.

The Chinese had their own administration and laws, the British had theirs, while the Malays, too, had their separate system. In other words, 200 years ago, there were three Singapores in one.

This was where the Chinese came in. The main players in Singapore were the Baba Chinese (who spoke Malay or a bastardised Hokkien-Malay that was neither Hokkien nor Malay), the Teochews and the Hokkiens. They controlled all the business activities. The main activities were trading, plantations (mostly in Johor), gambling, opium and prostitution.

The Chinese were split into three communities and each had its own leader. The Babas, because they spoke English, were closer to the British so the British appointed compradors from amongst them to manage the Baba community. The Teochews and Hokkiens had their own paramount leaders who laid down the laws and had power of life and death over their people.

In short, the British, Malays, Babas, Teochews and Hokkiens all had their own leaders and the people had to listen to their leader or face death. Chinese girls aged 11-13 were bought (yes, bought) in China and then brought to Singapore to work the brothels owned by the various clan kongsis. They also traded in opium (grown in Singapore, Johor and Batavia), which was not only exported to China on British ships but was also a form of salary for the Chinese plantation workers. Yes, the plantation workers were paid in opium, not cash. The prostitutes were not paid anything, of course, because they had been purchased as slaves.

My deep throat in Thailand just called and said that there was a botched assassination attempt on Xavier Andre Justo. It seems the Thai authorities managed to thwart an attempt to poison him. At this stage I do not have any further information but will update you if something new comes in.

According to my deep throat, they believe it has something to do with the Malaysian police’s request to meet Justo to interrogate him regarding his meeting with Sufi Yusof, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s aid. Whether this was an attempt to prevent him from revealing his link to Sufi is still not known yet but the real story will probably all come out in the next couple of days.

The only way Dr Mahathir can solve this stalemate is to get Najib replaced so that the new Prime Minister can unblock the freeze. And Dr Mahathir no longer has time on his side so this must be done soon.

Najib should reveal the story of how the taxi drivers want the freedom to choose whatever car to buy and not be forced to just buy Proton like now. I was told that Najib is dilly-dallying and is not making a decision on this.

If Najib agrees to the demands of the taxi drivers and allows them the freedom to buy whatever car they want that is going to affect the sales of Proton. So, of course, Dr Mahathir is not happy about it.

No doubt Najib has not said yes yet but he has not said no either. And Dr Mahathir is pissed that Najib is not announcing that if the taxi drivers want their taxi permits then they must buy Protons and no other type of car.

Next Najib is considering opening up Malaysia’s car market and not continue with the protection policy for Proton. That would be good for the consumer but will be the deathblow for Proton. As it is, Proton is asking for a RM2 billion bailout and Najib is not agreeing to that. That is yet another bone of contention.

Of course, many will say all that is still not going to explain what happened to 1MDB’s RM42 billion that is supposed to have disappeared into thin air. But it will explain why Dr Mahathir has turned 1MDB into his personal Crusade.

The most important and crucial story of all is regarding the story of the proxies. According to the talk in the corridors of power, and only Najib can tell us whether this is true or not, Dr Mahathir is trying to get his proxies to transfer back his assets but they need government approval first and Najib is not giving this approval.

Many of the proxies are playing the wait and see game. If Dr Mahathir cannot get Najib to agree then the proxies need not do anything and can keep all those assets that run into billions.

In the beginning Dr Mahathir cited Najib’s ‘giving in’ to the Chinese with the ‘2013 election disaster’ backdrop as the reason he has to go. Dr Mahathir accused Najib of favouring the Chinese and of neglecting the Malays who are going to be the voters who will ensure that Umno stays in power.

Then Dr Mahathir said that Najib is ‘giving in’ to Singapore and that is why he refuses to build the Crooked Bridge, which he had initially promised to do but did not because Singapore is not in favour of the bridge. Dr Mahathir said he does not understand why Najib listens to Singapore. “What is it that Singapore has on him?” asked Dr Mahathir.

But all that did not really move the ground until Dr Mahathir played up the 1MDB issue. Only then did all hell break loose. So now Dr Mahathir is like a dog with a bone. He has got his teeth into the 1MDB bone and is growling and is not letting go.

A number of Umno leaders have suggested that Najib should sit down with Dr Mahathir and resolve their differences. But it is too late for that. Dr Mahathir has gone beyond the point of no return and there is no turning back any more. Dr Mahathir has to see this to the end and complete what he started.

There are no more deals to be made with Najib. The deals must now be made with Najib’s successor, Muhyiddin. First is to ensure that Umno does not waste time with the Chinese voters and focus instead on the Malay voters.

Next, Muhyiddin must build that Crooked Bridge to Singapore and bail out Proton and not allow it to collapse.

Finally, Muhyiddin has to unfreeze the transfer of all those assets that Dr Mahathir wants his proxies to transfer to him. This, it seems, was the straw that broke the camel’s back and which forced Dr Mahathir to come to a decision that peace with Najib is no longer possible and that it has to be a duel to the death.

Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah was the first choice of successor to Pak Lah but, unfortunately, he rejected the idea of the Presidential Council. Ku Li replied that if he became Prime Minster then he is not going to be a puppet prime minister or become anyone’s proxy. As Prime Minister he would make all the decisions and not allow a de facto Prime Minister to tell him what to do.

Understandably, because of this attitude and rejection of the terms, Ku Li said he was dropped and the job was offered to Najib instead. Unfortunately, as Dr Mahathir said, after becoming Prime Minister, Najib reneged on the terms of his appointment and refused to take advice from Dr Mahathir.

Both the Special Branch and the Military Intelligence have told Najib that the next general election is going to be touch-and-go. And it has become even more critical with Dr Mahathir leading the attack on Najib and giving the impression that the Prime Minister has zero support of Umno. And Dr Mahathir’s message to Umno is that if they wish to remain in power then they need to kick Najib out and replace him with Muhyiddin.

DAP supports this idea. They not only want Najib to step down in favour of Muhyiddin but DAP also suggests that the new Prime Minister should seek the help of Dr Mahathir and Pak Lah to run the country.

Since Merdeka, the Malays have been divided into Umno and PAS. Even Gerakan, which won Penang as an opposition party in 1969, joined the ruling coalition. And were the Chinese angry? Did the Chinese kick Gerakan out in the following election? For almost 40 years the Chinese continued to vote for Gerakan in spite of the fact that it sold out the voters and joined the ruling government. It took almost 40 years for the Chinese to eventually wake up and kick Gerakan out. And now, after 40 years of sleeping, the Chinese wake up and talk so much, as if the opposition cause is entirely a Chinese effort.

The opposition supporters, in particular the Chinese supporters, are talking as if the Malays, Muslims, royalty, Umno members, etc., are solely responsible for what ails Malaysia. And they speak with much venom in their words. They have forgotten that 22 years ago, back in 1990, the Malays were already voting opposition while the Chinese, Indians and minorities of East Malaysia were still voting Barisan Nasional. It is only of late, four years ago in 2008, that the Chinese and Indians (not yet the minorities of East Malaysia) started voting opposition. I admit that I am one of those Malays (who is also a member of the royal family) who has become tawar hati with the opposition. I still support the opposition cause. If not I would not have published that special report I mentioned above. But while I am still gung ho about the opposition cause, I am no longer gung ho about the opposition like I used to be for 30 years from 1978 to 2008. Since the 2008 general election, I have begun to see the dark side of the opposition supporters. And I no longer feel the same way about the opposition like I did for 30 years from 1978 to 2008.

As I said in an earlier article a few days ago, yes, I have turned. I have turned from being a die-hard opposition supporter to becoming a critical opposition supporter. As this point of time I am still an opposition supporter. But I am a different type of opposition supporter now. Now, I am an opposition supporter who has become slighted by the actions and words of the other opposition supporters and I now feel alienated.

I am not sure whether I want to write my ‘normal’ (meaning cheong hei) article today. Maybe I should write a short article and allow you time to read the special report by the United States regarding racism in Malaysia (READ HERE: http://www.malaysia-today.net/mtcolumns/special-reports/50328-institutional-racism-and-religious-freedom-in-malaysia). Anyway, let me start writing and see where I end up.

There are many reports, today and yesterday, which all have a tint of racism in them, including that item on Lim Guan Eng being harassed by those Perkasa chaps in Penang. We are very quick to jump at the Umno chaps, or the ‘Umno-sponsored’ chaps like those Perkasa thugs, but we fail to see that we too (meaning the opposition supporters) are no lesser racist in our actions and words. I mean; can we get by even just one day without you who post comments in Malaysia Today not using words like Mamak or refrain from Malay bashing?

I know Umno is Malay. Umno makes no bones about the fact that it is Malay. Does not the ‘M’ in the Umno name stand for ‘Malay’? Umno declares that it is a Malay party. It does not hide the fact that it fights for the Malays. Umno openly propagates Malay nationalism or Ketuanan Melayu. But when we whack Mamaks or vilify the Malays then we are also hitting out at the non-Umno Malays who, just like you, may not support Umno or may even, just like you, hate everything that Umno stands for.

Dear Koon Yew Yin,

Thank you for your response. Unfortunately, in advising PAS members as to what they should do, you have ignored chapter six, verses 114 and 115 of the Qur’an, which goes as follows:

Shall I seek other than God as a source of law, when He has revealed to you this book fully detailed? Those who received the scripture recognise that it has been revealed from your Lord, truthfully. You shall not harbour any doubt. The word of your Lord is complete, in truth and justice. Nothing shall abrogate His words. He is the Hearer, the Omniscient.

Hence you have erred in advising PAS members to abandon or abrogate the Qur’an in favour of other systems and values. The Qur’an very clearly states that God is the source of law, nothing should override this, and this is what PAS is upholding.

To advise Muslims to ignore this decree from God is akin to you trying to tell Christians that Jesus is not the Son of God whereas some Christians believe he is. Jesus being the Son of God is Christian doctrine as much as God is the source of laws the Islamic doctrine.

You are straying into very dangerous ground in dabbling with doctrine that is dear to the hearts of Muslims.

I challenge any Muslim to declare that he or she does not believe that the Sharia is compulsory upon Muslims and that Hudud is not part of the Sharia. Any Muslim who dares do that would be kufur and that would mean he or she is a kafir or infidel.

You have further suggested that those PAS members who wish to ignore the decree that God is a source of law should leave the party and for PasMa to team up with Pakatan Rakyat while PAS ‘Lama’ should go and join Umno in Barisan Nasional.
