Sumatec mentioned that they will turn profit in the 1st quarter 2014, so mathematically it means March'14 right ? which is equivalent to the quarter result year end 2013 to be announced in Feb'14 right?
Just want to confirm on that, coz that statement is kinda tricky......

Sumatec's project in Kazakhstan.KUALA LUMPUR, June 21 — Sumatec Resources Bhd expects to generate large profits from oil and gas production from the Rakushechnoye Oil and Gas field in Kazakhztan within three years.

Chief Executive Officer Chris Dalton said oil production from the 354.45 sq km concession area next to the Caspian Sea is expected to increase in the next 12 months and could generate RM1 billion in revenue by 2015.

The company signed a Joint Investment Agreement to participate in the development and production of oil and gas until 2025 with Markmore Energy Labuan Ltd and CaspiOilGas LLP in March last year.

Speaking to reporters after the extraordinary general meeting today, Dalton said the oil production is targeted to increase to 2,000 barrels per day (bpd) within the first 12 months, to 6,000 bpd by the second year and to 8,000 bpd by the third year.

At the same time, Sumatec is expected to produce 17 billion cubic feet per year of natural gas from the Rakushechnoye Oil Field starting from the third year of operations.

The group projects healthy growth for Sumatec for the financial years ending Dec 31, 2013 and Dec 31, 2014, and expects revenue of RM99.11 million for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2013, up from RM1.5 million previously.

“We expect total demand from our production to contribute to the group’s earnings this year and also coming years,” said Dalton.

CaspiOilGas, Markmore and Sumatec are in discussions with several potential gas buyers, including a gas-fired power plant in Altau, 120 km from the field.– BERNAMA
