You don't have to pay any tax on that as the dividend already taxed 10% upfront. It is non-taxable on our hand.

For example:
"Second Income Distribution of 2.38 sen per unit (of which 1.94 sen per unit is taxable and 0.38 sen per unit is non-taxable and 0.06 sen per unit is tax exempt) for the second quarter ended 31 December 2017"

Above is the latest dividend payout detail. Below is the calculation on how much you can get:

1.94sen taxable(tax 10%, so you will get 90% of this portion)
: 1.94 x 90% = 1.746
0.38sen non-taxable: 0.38 x 100% = 0.38
0.06sen tax exempt : 0.06 x 100% = 0.06

Total receive dividend = 1.746 + 0.38 + 0.06 = 2.186sen
If you have 1000 unit of Sunreit, then you total dividend for the quarter is 2.186sen x 1000 = 2186sen / 100 = RM 21.86

IGBREIT only distribute dividend half yearly. The next distribution will be in Feb next year.

Depends on you are owning a nominee account or a direct account.

Nominee account - you need to tell you remisier that you want to subscribe for the dividend reinvestment plan and they will tell you what to do.

Direct account - you will receive a letter from Trop regarding on how many unit you can subscribe. Just fill up the form and attach a RM10 stamp hasil and send it back to the share registrar.

Well it is important. if it is thru open market, then SVI might be making a risky investment at this price. Yong Tai PE is about 50 now. Unless the impression city can become a successful story, else if the project fail then that's it. But if thru private placement, then what is the price they bought, how much they invested in Yong Tai.

From what I understand is SVI is some sort like a MLM, well I am not saying it is illegal as I dun not have any proof so far. SVI treats their member as investor, if SVI invested money in Yong Tai is coming from the SVI so-called investors, then SVI is putting their investors at a risky-position.

To answer your question, what I can think of is by investing in Yong Tai, SVI will be more easy to attract people to join them by promoting that they have together with a Bursa listed-company invested in a GDV RM5.4 billion in Melaka Impression City. Isn't it sounds more convincing when you show this to your potential investor.

How did SVI become a shareholder of Yong Tai? They bought the share from open market or thru private placement?

Buying Reit is exactly the same as buying other company shares. Brokerage fee is the same and depends on which brokerage film you are using. The income distribution next month is RM 0.02087. If ideal case, the income distribution remains the same as the coming one for the next 3 quarters, which mean you will get RM 0.02087 *4 = RM 0.08348 for full year.

RM 0.08348 / Current share price RM1.78 = 4.69% pa.

So your interest is around 4.69% which is still slightly above FD interest rate. If you ask me is it worth to buy now, I will say no. The current price is near to all time highest. Ofcourse it might go higher, but the downside risk also higher. Anyway, it's still your decision to buy or not.

The placement news keep on extending and extending. I bought 2 years ago when everyone said this placement will dilute shareholder equity. Well...after 2 years, my average cost already reduce to 0.87 just by receiving the dividends only.

2nd quarter dividend ex-date was on Feb 12th. if you buy now you have to wait for the 3rd quarter dividend which will be around May according to past record.
