take a look at USD/MYR chart
Its true that most AA debt are denominated in USD...they like to borrow and transact in USD as their fuel is also transacted in USD

Advice caution on AirAsia
AirAsia has risen sharply over the past 1 week due to weak fuel prices. However the market is ignoring the impact of weak RM, which will have a greater impact on AirAsia'4 earnings than lower fuel prices, due to substantial USD debt.

Thanks for everyone contributions. Someone told me that this company is expanding and may need furthur land in Tampin. However i look at the latest financial report, it seems that they just restarted one line in their factory recently which was closed becasue of some production and margin issue. So they just restarted a line tells me that they have excess capacity. Moreover their debt situation it seems does not allow them to take on more debt for land acquistion? Anyone has any insight to their production capacity and expansion plan?

hmm Thank you guys. I checked for the last 5 years...they only paid dividend twice. Chip Board, what so great about this industry? 5% margin , no much room for error? What are they doing to inc margin?..good business in china but china is slowing down and they probably have more trees to make chipboard than malaysia and probably can make it cheaper than Heveaboard? Do they have well known brands of chipboard. Why in Tampin and not in Sabah & sarawak?

new to this company...guys why is this company worth investing?
Heard they have financial trouble back in 2011 with their bankers and they got over that finanlly.
Their margin is very thin 300min of revenue 15m of net profit only...so margin less than 5%
Family run and owned company in the sleepy town of tampin.
So why is this company so great??
THose knowlegeable one pls share. thanks

I think they need to the money to finance AirAsia (India) expansion. India need to buy/lease Boeing plane to begin operations in India.
So this is finance through their shareholding in Airasia Bhd...think nothing to panick

Relax guys. If anyone is going to survive and do well in the LCC industry, it is AA. Tony has his connections with a lot of people, look at India with Tata and look at Richard Branson. He now need someone in China, indonesia and Japan and phillipines. They have gone through many crisis before when oil is at its high. The stock was from Rm 1.30 to 3.90. Now its back to RM 2.
He has built up a lot of goodwill during the Phillipines disasters and the malaysian election. He is a marketing genius. So stay focus and when its cheap, pick it up again and again.

Eco world has had 2 very successful launch over the weekend. One in KL and One in JB. Both of them are balloted and available units all picked up. This should bode well for Focal Aims. Initially i thought that Eco world is still fairly raw since they just acquired the land recntly. But they have proven to hit the ground running as evident by their successful property launch over the weekend. Also Eco World has had their infrastructure set up as many SP Setia staff are already working for Eco world....so judging by what the mkt see, Focal Aims should reach SP Setia share price level very soon .
