@witan let say i buy 1,000 unit 6.2 then I buy 9,000 unit 4.65...my average is 4.8 and with the dividend of 42 cents...i make money and holding 10,000 units. The rules is pretty simple...when you put 8X-9X you initial investment, the average is on the lower bracket.

@Dividendplayer the thing with forecasting is that it's ALWAYS WRONG. Forget about gauging the bottom. As long your valuation is not too far from the bottom, the dividend will pay the difference for itself. It's about getting a good deal and your forecast about the future.

Human is very good at forecasting WHAT will happen. But human is very bad at forecasting WHEN it will happen.

You can try the 3 case scenario analysis, e.g. BEST case scenario where profit constantly increase. OK scenario where profit is stagnant. WORST case scenario where profit declining. With this profit, what is my dividend return? With that profit what is my dividend return? If the share price increase what is my total return?

From there you should have a grasp of how much you are willing to pay for this stock.

When you buy the share of a company, it's called 'ownership'.
When they pay you dividend, it's called 'profit-sharing'.
When they pay you dividend, they have to take out part of the cash from the company, hence, the value is reduced. When the next equivalent profit comes in, it will rise back to that price and the process repeats. That's what you see in Maybank. If there is a drop in profit, hence the price of the share drops.

Not like you say, pay own divvy. You work for a company. The company pay you salary. You pay your own salary?

It will prey upon in the name of austerity, the working class and the poor, driving them ever deeper into debt and poverty and diminishing the capacity of a state to serve the basic need of ordinary citizen. It would as it has increasingly automate or relocate jobs including manufacturing and professional positions to country with cheap pool of labour. This will trigger an economic assault on not only the working class and the middle class, the bulwark of a capitalist democracy that would be disguised by massive personal debt as income decline or remain stagnant and borrowing soared. Politics in the late stage of capitalism become subordinate to economics leading to political parties hallowed out of any real political content and objectively subservient to the dictates of corporations. When there is no new market and no new pools of labour available to take on more debt, capitalism in the end will turn on the so-called free market along with the tradition and values it claimed to defend. It would in it's final stage pillage the system and structure that made capitalism possible. It would resort as it causes widespread suffering to harsher forms of repression to maintain social control. It will attempt in it's last stand to extract profit by looting and pillaging the institutions contradicting it's stated nature.

This is what you are seeing in and from the US. US will move it's factories all over the world to seek cheap labour. In the 90s, they came to Malaysia.
