Bear in mind that MBB is a non shariah complaint counter and EPF is rebalancing its portfolio for members who choose their savings to be in complaint or non complaint.

As more members opt for shariah complaint account, EPF has to sell away non complaint counters and in exchange for shariah complaint counters to reflect their true shareholding.

So it is not surprising that EPF is a net seller of MBB until the percentage is achieved.

Maybank has been selling low to his crony kawan kawan, just tangkap epf official 1.
Put him in jail. I guarantee Maybank will buy back again later at RM 11 from his kawan-kawan. EPF fund managers are enriching friends and family.

Maybank's latest qtr revenue stood at 11B and rising every qtr, but funnily the market value is at 90B only??? It is severely under value if compares to pbbank where qtr revenue only 5B but market value 78B????

Maybank fair value should be 2x pbbank, that's why i project it's value at 150B. So the tp should be RM 15-17.

No kidding, need to keep buying when it's so low better than invest in housing. If i have 1B, i would have own 1% of it, goyang kaki, and enjoy the return.

@ mushimushi - your facts are inaccurate. Maybank is the 3rd or 4rd in ASEAN; behind the Banking Trio of Singapore (DBS, OCBC and UOB)
But having said that, you are right that even at RM9 it is UNDERVALUED.

Posted by Amit Khindriya > 2017-03-22 16:07 | Report Abuse

@ Mushimushi i am not sure how you measure the size of a bank if not be asset or market cap.
even if you consider revenue or profit, Maybank is not the BIGGEST in ASEAN - so you fact is not correct.

While i have full confidence in corp Malaysia and Maybank in particular, I will not pass sweeping statement about something that I have not facts about.

Your statements about Singapore and DBS again shows that you do not speak with facts. "Singapore economy soon to collapse"

DBS reported net profit of $4.36B from total income of $11B vs Maybank's net profit of RM6.96B from total operating income of RM26.3B in 2016.
Which is bigger? FYI now $1 = RM3

I am beginning to wonder who is the real Sohai here?

About Public Bank vs Maybank
Public Bank's NIM = 54.5% , NPL <2% and Cost to Income is much better than Maybank.
It's more efficient and has been consistent in past 50yrs --- this is what made it attractive to investors to chase the price up and keep it up!

Public Bank RoE of 15.8%, it implies that Public Bank generates around MYR15.80 on every MYR100 of shareholder capital invested in the bank. While Maybank’s RoE is at 9.8% only.

Go and understand these important facts and figures first before you blabber here and condemn people.

Malaysia is just right across the bridge buddy, if DBS can't even get its foot in a market right next door, the so call ASEAN no.1 title most probably a sham.

Take into account c24 expires after X date for dividend. Means its not actually at a discount.

@apprentice, the market maker for c24 is CIMB. likely they will not do adjustment of ex-price for C24 in relation to the dividend?

MBB is up mainly due to foreign buyers, increased to 17% plus from 15% plus.
Foreign interest on Maybank has gained traction since early January, with foreign shareholding rising from 15.65% to 17.37% as of 17 March, the highest level in 9 months

Many people don't know about warrant. Maybank c24 is -2.56% premium mean that the selling price is far below the actual price. Meaning said is cheap sale.
