Thanks Save. But cash settlement does not include date of expiry. So its, 10.18, 10.20, 10.26, 10.40 and 10.46. Cash settlement is 26.66 sen.

My average is 4.5 sen.

Hi all, it's been pretty quiet here today, is C34 still worthy to buy at .44? Even at .44, mother at 10.5, C34 is still trading at discount of around 1%

Is all cw trading at discount a no brainer to buy?

hi ironcrowz,
C34 worth (RM10.46 - RM0.32 (div) - RM9.25 (ex-price) ) / 2.5 = RM0.356...
so now is RM0.435 still at premium...

thx skl, sry i missed out the dividend, just started learning cw here haha..

Mother currently at 10.50, if premium 0.5%, c34 worth (1.005 x 10.50 - 9.25 - 0.32) / 2.5 = RM0.393
So better to buy again at RM0.40?

At current price, Maybank P/BV is 1.55 times, neither overly expensive or cheap, probably reasonable

Is C34 still worth buying? Good question. We have to look at the movement of mother to determine if its worth buying at a price when punters would usually sell off the cw. A 32 sen dividend would reduce C34's worth by almost 13sen.

As we can see from the buy and sell queue, Amanah and EPF are buying and sell to each other and controlling the price. It may drop to 10.40 or even lower as the major shareholders would like to collect more shares from the DRIP. Once the DRIP price has been determined, price will move up sloooowly until Xdate. After Xdate price adjustment, it will rise about 10sen and will stay there for sometime.

Thats my experience with MBB and all the DRIPs I subscribed to, from the very first in 2010. Does not take into account the election 'factor'. So calculate the mother in June and see if its worth buying C34 now.

My short term sell timing
(1) KLCI hit 1880 or above, or
(2) Maybank hit 10.70 or above, or
(3) Just before election announcement date or by 23-April (minor adjustment later), whichever is earlier
There is a need to monitor price action on 9-12th of March
Above is just my gut feeling, not much logic.....just to remind me to sell as always forgotten to sell when price is good. Any comment?

@apprentice i thought the 13sen reduction has already happened has it? When the dividend is announced on 28 Feb, C34 already dropped 10sen.

Btw how to view the buy and sell queue? From the trading platform? Mind to share what software u using? I haven gt a CDS a/c that's why...

Xdate price adjustment is on the mother? So u mean on Xdate, mother will down 32sen but back up 10sen and stabilises?

@Save why not wait until election is over? If BN wins (which they usually do), will mother rises?

iron, I trade online maybank2u, so I have access to all the info. I suggest you trade online as it is faster and much cheaper.

13sen discount may be factored into C34.

Mother will have 32sen deducted on Xdate, but will usually bounce back.

@apprentice, my short term speculator sell timing is only applied to call warrants. I don't have mother but I think (3) announcement of election date also applied to mother as after government dissolve, there is period of uncertainty, foreign fund will exit.
As mother is good dividend stock, my long term view on Maybank is buy when KLCI below 1500 , sell when KLCI 1900 or above
@ironcrowz same reason explains why speculator need to sell when election announced. Mother will rise 1 day if BN wins, further rise will depends on (1) 2nd interest rate hike this year (2) MYR/USD and Oil price (3) Dow jones (4) Rationalisation of Maybank business by PNB..........
If Pakatan wins, short term volatile market may be seen
I don't want go further into politics here.....

IPOH (March 15): The ringgit is expected to surge to 3.80 against the US dollar in the near term, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said.

The Prime Minister said his optimism emanated from positive indicators like the nation's strong economic performance, as well as the country's export value of more than RM80 billion in the first quarter of this year.

"Our currency yesterday dropped slightly to 3.90 from 3.89 (against the US dollar). InsyaAllah, in the near term it may rise to 3.80.

“In terms of currency value, ours is among the best performing currencies as several months ago the ringgit had weakened to 4.49. But it will surge to 3.80 soon," he said when addressing the Prime Minister’s Budget 2018 with People-Civil Servants programme attended by over 5,000 people, here today.

This is the fourth edition of the programme in Najib’s quest to share the country's success stories and explain various government policies that had been and will be implemented.

Najib was greeted on arrival at the Allied Health Sciences College, Tanjung Rambutan near here by Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir and State Secretary Datuk Seri Abdul Puhat Mat Nayan.

The Prime Minister described the rating affirmation of three international bodies, namely Fitch, Moody’s and Standard & Poors on the government administrative capability recently as not an ordinary recognition.

He said the three international rating agencies had visited the country to carry out an in-depth study in terms of facts and figures before affirming Malaysia ratings at ‘A’.

"Our country ratings was affirmed at ‘A-’, Singapore may be higher but we are in Group A, (while) Italy at B, Greece was worse, Russian at B. So, if people said we will go bankrupt, it is just common sense that Group B will go bankrupt first. How can A go bankrupt before B.

“During the Asian Financial Crisis in 1997, our reserve was at US$20 billion, but the bankrupt story did not surface then. Now our country’s reserve stood at US$103 billion, a five-fold increase from before," he said.

He said the value of national loans against Gross Domestic Product also declined from 54 per cent to 50.8 per cent.

goaty, be patient. People are discounting the 32 sen dividend, so it might be too expensive for many. Don't worry, tomorrow will move a bit more.
