Abundance, no problem for me as its 22.5 TE, equivalent to 30 sen if tax included. I am only disappointed only 16 sen for DRP, 18 sen better.

16 sen of the 22.5 sen dividend is electable to be reinvested into new shares at the price of RM9.20 in Dividend Reinvestment Plan (“DRP”).

Eg, if you have 1,000 shares, your electable portion is 0.16 x 1000 = RM160. Divided by 9.2 is 17.39, discard the fraction, you get 17 shares. ie, you may elect to reinvest 17 shares in the DRP form you received.

You will receive the unused portion in cash. Note that you need to paste a RM10 hasil stamp on the DRP form & preferably send by registered mail to avoid missing on the way (some people may want to steal the hasil stamp).

It may not be that worthwhile for small shareholders to choose DRP. If you want to receive all in cash, just take no action.

Nobody can satisfy anybody in the top level executive especially when there is a change at the top n everybody wanted that position so there r bound to be some resignations. Just get the replacement as there r so many in the market. Nobody is invincible!!! It's also good if we give the deputy of the section concern a chance to go up. So no worry Maybank still can remain the top. This is my opinion only.

n00bpelabur, today's StarBiz reported that Tengku Datuk Zafrul had quit as CEO of Maybank IB(Investment Bank) n earlier Datuk Khairussaleh Ramli had resigned as president director of PT Bank Inernasional Indonesia on Sept 4. They were amongst the few to be selected for consideration to the post of president n CEO left vacant during that time by Datuk Seri Abdul Wahid Omar but were not selected n Datuk Abdul Farid Alias was given the position. That r all that I've gathered which I hope will enlighten u a bit.

Today's drop has nothing to do with the news regarding the resignation of Datuk Zafrul n Datuk khairussaleh who had resigned sometimes ago on Sept 4 but bcos the overall index was down n CIMB also dropped.

Ok thanks for explanation vinvin. Damn what happen in Uncle Sam really affect all the world including Malaysia. I probably should hold for long term. But if rebound in short term, can anybody set what target price should be. As I know maybank stock is hold largely by institutional investor like investment bank and Perbadanan Nasional Berhad which ASB hold 20% NAV in Maybank. Probably I hope in near future government could do something to stimulus back the economy especialli in Budget 2014.

It's a few events happening together. Ringgit drop also and with news that deputy finance minister is going to table for rm4.1 billion to pay civil servants salaries caused the jitters also. Dow jones dropped 4 days in a row ..
