Selangor Pakatan Rakyat in unchartered waters

MP SPEAKS The PAS muktamar (general assembly) held last week decided to sever all ties (“putus hubungan”) and stop all political cooperation “kerjasama politik” with DAP.

As a result, Pakatan Rakyat in Selangor has undoubtedly entered unchartered waters. The only thing certain under such circumstances is that nothing can, or will be, the same again.

It is inconceivable for anyone to think or believe that Pakatan Rakyat can continue to exist in its current state, given the above unequivocal motion from PAS.

The Selangor Pakatan government comprises three political parties that subscribe to a common policy platform.

However, when the common policy platform is breached, compounded by the decision of one party to stop cooperation with another within the coalition, then the coalition naturally collapses.

How will the state government function, when the state executive councillors (exco members) of PAS refuse to cooperate with the the exco members from DAP when carrying out their respective duties?

Can one even imagine how surreal the state exco meeting will be, with the PAS exco members ignoring the DAP exco members or pretending that they don’t exist?

No problems within state exco...

The problems do not just exist within the state executive council, but with all levels of the Selangor government.

Will PAS local councillors, for example, pay no heed to all comments, suggestions and proposals by DAP local councillors when carrying out their responsibilities at the local government level?

What’s more, such refusal to cooperate will be egged on by PAS leaders such as Nasruddin Hassan Tantawi, the top vote-getter among the 18 newly-elected central committee members.

After all, Nasruddin (photo) urged his party faithfuls to fight DAP with his now-famous war cry, “We may be dressed in jubah (robes) and turbans, but you must remember that underneath this jubah, there are elbows and knees that can be used (against DAP).”

Hence, it will never be “business as usual” again. The question that remains, and is still unanswered, is what form of political realignment will take place to allow a new coalition government to remain in power in Selangor?

As my colleague, Johor DAP chairperson and MP for Kluang, Liew Chin Tong, has alluded to, there is now a vacuum in the anti-establishment, moderate and progressive Malay political space after PAS swerved hard to the far right.

Liew said: “In the weeks and months to come, the search for new paths by the progressives and all other Malay moderate opinion leaders to fill the vacuum would see major political realignments in Malaysian politics.”

The ability for this gap to be filled, whether by the DAP and/or PKR, or by the rise of new factions or parties, will determine the future of the new coalition for Selangor.

The failure of this gap to be filled, which will allow a tenable coalition that subscribes firmly to the “Common Policy Platform” that the rakyat endorsed in the last general election, may lead to a collapse of the Selangor government and for elections to be called.

As of today, no final decision have been made by DAP Selangor. In the coming days, we will engage and discuss with the DAP central executive committee and abide by any decision made at the national level.

Unlike leaders of several other political parties we know of, Malaysians can be assured that DAP leaders in Selangor will not be hypocrites and betray our principles to remain in power at all costs.

cheoky. Didn't meet the right person for new info. As usual my datuk said it is 2 week time.
Got a earful on DAP/Hadi spat. DAP is really going to promote PasMa with PKR support
including Wan Azizah & Co. Azmin is now standing alone bcoz of his Pro-Hadi stance.
In order for PasMa to be a political force--it need to be Register First and Alot of promotion
in Selangor First. A by-election in Selangor is Good starting place.
So the time frame for by -election is atleast 6 months from NOW
Selangor Water Restructuring cannot wait 6 months (given timeframe 2 months)
So the restructuring is a GO (with DAP's political stance)
Unless Umno throw a spanner into the wheel, i see no further delay----just my 2 cents

3 more days to go, deadline 11 June set by Puncak....could be delay again as no much new development on outstanding issue which is still pending to be resolve: ownership of Semenyih and Bukit Nanas water treatment (land belong to Fed gov, but the water treatment plant is develop by state gov); land transfer/grant land lease on water pipe network throughout KL, Selangor and Putrajaya.

Politican diverting their attention on political affair....everyone seem to too busy on political tussle...Fed gov (1MDB); PR (PAS vs DAP)...The best solution will be water restructuring to complete before deadline or at least date set by Azmi himself on 16 June...the longer it take, the more uncertainty ahead....once PasMa register as political party, all progressive leader may jump to join and team up with PKR and DAP replacing PAS in Selangor...snap election is possible

Have breakfast with PKR friend and he mention Azmin will distance himself from Hadi bcoz of
lastest Umno/Hadi cooperation. PasMa need proper introduction first--cannot rush. Next DAP
option is to have Snap election and let UMNO capture most of PAS seats in Selangor ( i am
80% sure Pas will loose majority of its selangor seat). Without Anwar and Pas, it is impossible
to capture back the seats (lost seat )in Next General Election bcoz Umno has the most potent
weapon ----Money

Mahfuz: Hujah putus dengan DAP kuat, Islamik

Pengerusi jawatankuasa usul PAS dalam muktamar lalu Datuk Mahfuz Omar menegaskan usul memutuskan hubungan dengan DAP sudah pun dipersetujui.

Katanya, Dewan Ulama telah menyenaraikan sembilan alasan kenapa langkah itu harus diambil.

“Sembilan alasan itu ialah alasan untuk menunjukkan bahawa sudah cukup kerjasama itu, perlu ditamatkan dengan sembilan alasan.

“Jadi saya percaya Dewan Ulama sudah merujuk dari sudut Islamnya, yang menunjukkan ulama berpendapat sudah cukup kerjasama itu, (kini) perlu ditamatkan,” kata Mahfuz.

Kekeliruan itu muncul apabila pemimpin kanan PAS berkata keputusan itu masih belum muktamad.
Dewan Ulama pula berkata usul mereka “mencadangkan”, bukan “menegaskan” seperti diluluskan.

Pada masa yang sama, bekas timbalan presiden PAS Mohamad Sabu sudah pun mengumumkan akan berundur daripada jawatan disandangnya dalam sebuah syarikat berkaitan kerajaan (GLC) Pulau Pinang kerana taatkan ulama.

Jadi parti pro-Pakatan saja?

Sementara itu, Mahfuz juga berkata beliau tidak fikir anggota Dewan Ulama yang turut menganggotai Majlis Syuara tidak akan mempertahankan keputusan muktamar yang berpunca daripada usul mereka sendiri.

“Jadi (perkara) ini harus dilihat. Tapi apa-apa pun saya serah kepada Majlis Syura,” katanya.

Sambil mengulas beberapa kemungkinan yang akan berlaku di Selangor, Mahfuz berkata beliau tidak fikir PAS akan bekerjasama dengan BN di Selangor “tetapi boleh jadi satu komponen yang mesra Pakatan”.

Ditanya sama ada PAS akan membuat pusingan U dengan keputusan itu, Mahfuz menjawab tindakan itu sukar dilakukan.

“Kalau u-turn persepsi orang Islam akan melihat sebaliknya terhadap PAS,” katanya lagi.

“Saya melihat pada pandangan (menyebut) orang akan menyatakan PAS hanya pentingkan kedudukan kerana ada keuntungan dan sebaliknya, sedangkan PAS ini dia punya hardcore ialah orang Islam.

All those who hope for a Selangor snap election will be very disappointed if nothing happen
in 2 weeks ( even this coming Friday if more damage control is lashed out by HADI himself )

Wow. Roger has sold All @ 2.75-2.76 (Big Block gone). I just hope there are another 2-3 investors who had about 1-2 millions spare cash for Puncak shares. If you push, I will do
my best to support. Go for 3.00 atleast and set up a barricade
I have budget a small barricade at 2.65 (i think is enough)

"Masalahnya kedegilan Kerajaan Persekutuan mempertikaikan tanah mahu diambil dengan jumlah banyak dan Kerajaan Negeri berhak mempertikaikan kerana ia tiada dalam perjanjian," katanya.

Abdullah Sani berkata, masalah timbul ketika ini adalah kerana sikap Kerajaan Persekutuan lebih banyak melihat dan menunggu kebangkitan rakyat supaya bekalan air disalurkan ke kawasan tertentu.

"Inilah antara penyebab utama dilihat membantut proses penyaluran air daripada Pahang.

"Persoalan hari ini Kerajaan Negeri mahu menambah loji-loji air yang ada untuk meningkatkan bekalan air kepada rakyat. Ia langkah jangka panjang yang boleh membantu," katanya.

No annchua. Roger don't understand what i said. When i formed barricade at 2.75 for small
Ikan bilis--means I BUY and maintain price at 2.75. I have a big block at 2.65--why must i
let price to fall to this level (2.65). EPF have a very block at 2.70 so I think 2.75 is a very
risk free zone. Previously the market is very stormy so nobody see it.

Court down time ...2 more days to go.....it is 50:50 chance now... if deal seal, price surge, if not, price retract and have to wait another 1 month for 6th delay. But, if Azmi indeed stick to his previous strong word, 'must complete by 16 June', then can wait for another 5 days after 11 deadline

I think from 10-to 16 June has better chance. Azmin No longer talked about Water deal or
Langat 2. ( more like a done deal) Now many Bumi land owners are asking Azmin about

Hng33. I not going to make money on supporting at 2.75. Just removing small lots bcoz they
add pressure. Even EPF cannot support market at 3.0 last time. Bank is a little wary
when i asked my banker to extend my buying limits on Puncak. They will give me a answer
this afternoon after consulting her immediate manager.
I did buy at 2.65 but they were all gone fast.
If Puncak do not rise as expected, I will lose big on this gamble.

Good! Puncak deal will be know in another 2 more day (11 June) or 7 day (16 June, date set by Azmi, before Ramadran).

But, at the moment, still keep minimum exposure on Puncak first, awaiting for these deal confirmation. Temporary swap capital reserve for Puncak to Tenaga today (RM13.10), hope can pocket some contra gain later.
