Actually I believe PAAB CEO Datuk Faizal Abdul Rahman said it is a long negotiation process
that may/could be concluded before Hari Raya (17 July). I think Datuk Faizal has More credential
than Azmin ( he doesn't know the process--just a politican )

well, I have no confidence in any of them, but believe that a populist agenda crashing with a crony-induced water contract can't sustain for long. A compromise will eventually be needed, and I shall benefit from their selfishness. Just hope they aren't crazy enough to prolong the issue further...

SHAH ALAM, June 18 — Selangor Mentri Besar Azmin Ali today said he is hopeful that the state and federal governments can come to a final agreement on Selangor’s long-delayed water industry restructuring plan over the next week.

He said he has been in discussions with Energy, Green Technology and Water Minister Datuk Seri Maximus J. Ongkili, and is optimistic of making headway. “As I have state from the very beginning, the state wants to settle issue of the water industry restructuring... as soon as possible,” he said when met at the state mosque here.

“The only thing is that we want both sides to respect the master agreement. I thank the minister for his proactive attitude in solving several issues.

“Hopefully we can settle this within a week,” Azmin said. Last year, Putrajaya signed a deal with the Selangor state government under then Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim.

Under the water agreement, Selangor is meant to infuse a new special purpose vehicle with RM14.92 billion in assets to manage the water restructuring exercise with Putrajaya.

The federal government is also to provide RM2 billion to help offset the state’s cost of taking over the four concessionaires — Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas), Puncak Niaga Sdn Bhd, Konsortium Abbas Sdn Bhd and Syarikat Pengeluar Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (SPLASH).

In return, Selangor would provide all necessary approvals for the construction of the Langat 2 water treatment plant that it had previously resisted.

Azmin, however declared that the agreement “has collapsed” in March, claiming that the federal government had alleged failed to comply with pre-conditions set out by the state government. Both government’s have since resumed negotiations, with Maximus saying in May that it is up to Selangor to settle the issue of transferring water assets and a complete takeover of the state’s water concessions.

Dato' Menteri Besar, Mohamed Azmin Ali, berkata kenyataan juga sudah dibuat berhubung perkara itu dan berharap ia dapat dimuktamadkan seperti yang diinginkan kedua-dua pihak.

Katanya, Kerajaan Negeri turut merakamkan penghargaan berikutan tindakan Kerajaan Persekutuan yang proaktif bagi menyelesaikan isu terbabit.

"Kita sudah sampai ke penghujung. Harap dalam tempoh seminggu ini kita boleh muktamadkan," katanya di sini, hari ini.

Pada masa sama, beliau turut mengulas insiden demontrasi didalangi Umno di hadapan Bangunan SUK, semalam.

Katanya, segala berlaku itu adalah dirancang pihak terbabit yang diketuai Pengerusi Umno Negeri, Datuk Seri Noh Omar.

"Saya nak selesaikan masalah rakyat, bukan nak jual baldi. Itu kerja Noh Omar. Dia boleh bekal baldi," katanya.

the deal looks likely now. Yesterday Azmin thanked Ongkili for being 'pro-active' in solving the issues. This leaves him with little room to blame Ongkili if it fails now. So looks like he's quite confident that it will be finalized this time.

Airasia is the current punters market (will last atleast 3 weeks from now) All the big fishes are
there. Without big fishes around, EPF selling will put a damper on price after 3.20 ( Last run
stops at 3.0++ ) Puncak's bullrun really depends on market sentiment and EPF's plan
