IN SINGAPORE THEY JUST SOLD 6 SMALL ACRES OF LANDS IN KATONG FOR RM2.5 BILLION OR RM416 MILLION PER ACRE.

What Calvin mean "They" is refer to Singapore government sold 6 SMALL ACRES OF GOVERNMENT LANDS IN KATONG FOR RM2.5 BILLION OR RM416 MILLION PER ACRE

This is a very good stock to buy.

Very high NAV and with the coming strong eps and its borrowing had been pared down quickly.

Guys, maybe he mean singapore 6 acre land can be sold at 2.5 billion. . So bplant have 220k acre of land, it can be sold in better price?

calvin, you better come out and explain it to us. Damn misleading.

How to compare Sg with bplant portfolio of land?

calvintaneng

56,706 posts

Posted by calvintaneng > 2021-11-22 09:27 | Report Abuse

Asia88 is correct

Calvin only use Katong land as an example of gross undervaluation of Bplant lands

Bplant lands have more than 100 years history from Boustead time

I live in Spore
Spore got same sun, same climate like Malaysia.
Water also must buy from Johor
Workers mostly from Malaysia

Vegetable imported from Cameron highland and fish from straits of melaka

Almost 90% same same like Malaysia but why lands are Rm416,000 and acre when in Malaysia only Rm4,000 an acre like Thplant and Fgv

We understand land in BPLANT is undervalued below replacement cost, but to compare with Singapore land value of RM416m per acre is a stretch, do share which parcel of land own by BPLANT can be valued at this RM416m per acre?

calvintaneng

56,706 posts

Posted by calvintaneng > 2021-11-22 09:55 | Report Abuse

No need

If bplant land is only valued at 10% of Rm416k is already Rm41,600 per acre

The salary of a bank teller in Spore is $3,000
The salary of a bank officer in Malaysia is Rm3,000

Sing dollar is 3.15 of ringgit

So Spore wages only 3 times more

Not 30 times more

So why should land prices be 100 times more?

land is like any commodity, its price largely depend on demand and supply. Singapore being a ‘red dot’ country has very very limited land resources. As such land price in spore can go bizarre , but not in Malaysia.
For plantation lands there is always recently transacted price as the basis for us to work on . Same apply to plantation land with development value .

ta ann is also plantation company? you can't compare it like that

Bplant Share capital : 2.24billion share (par value 0.5)
Ta Ann Share capital : 0.4billion share (par value 1)

If Bplant want to declare 20 sen dividend, profit need at least 200million.

@Asia88, Taann is predominately oil palm plantation company with some timber business too.
It is OK to draw comparison between Bplant and Taann , but must use the right parameters . Compare PE instead of just the price or EPS, compare dividend yield (%) instead of just dividend amount, etc

John, if that is the case, taan biz is more close to jtiasa… bplant is pure plantation who actively selling it land in Malaysia..

Ya, Jayatiasa is same like Taann i, in both oil palm and timber . But there is huge difference in management quality and financial quality between the 2. Taann is far more superior.

TSH :

Ytd EPS. 7.65 sen
Sept qtr dividend Nil
Ytd dividend Nil
NA per share $1.14 (land in Indonesia )
Share price $1.17

Bplant

Ytd eps. 6.97 sen
Sept qtr dividend 1.75 sen
Ytd dividend 4.35 sen
Na per share $1.19 ( land in Malaysia)

Just finished reading the Quarterly Report.

1. What needs to come down like loans, operating costs, etc, are down.

2. What needs to go up like Profit, NTA, DY, DPS, etc, are up.

3. Bplant is moving into the mid-cap league of listed oil palm cos,
meaning, its share price shall move above RM1.00. Wait & see.

4. I am delighted with the dividends because many making huge profits
oil palm cos are not giving & you can check in Bursa.

5. Yes, finally, I am holding up and buying more Bplant shares.

6. Because, the final 4th quarter is explosive.

They follow back the YTD div payout against their policy. Anyway, if u read between the lines, apparently land disposal delayed to Q1 2022, to avoid RPGT?

Paying its 3rd dividend of 1.75 sen by 30th Dec 21. Total for this financial year is 4.35 sen. Final quarter profit will be the best, so can expect a better dividend than 3rd quarter, cheers.

why pay 1.75sen only when they can pay more.
