From BURSA, now on Bloomberg: Kuala Lumpur Kepong Bhd., Malaysia's third-largest listed palm oil planter, plans to buy a 33% stake in Boustead Plantations Bhd. for 1.15 billion ringgit ($248 million) in a transaction that could make it the largest shareholder in the company. KLK entered into an agreement with Boustead Holdings Bhd. and the armed pension fund Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera to buy ....So it looks like those who hold the shares will most likely be offered RM 1.55 for cashing out

Lesson learn from Bplant.
Plantation stock should not be valued at below NTA price.
As it is wrong to value plantation stock by their profitability alone.
Sooner or later it will be privatised cheaper than it shld be.
Most plantation are being privatised when they reported lousy qtrs or loss making.
Reason being stock price will be hammered low.
Bplant rally only after last lousy qtr profit reported at 10 million.

No such thing of bailout, KLK would benefited more based on true assets value. They are capable and excellent track record in managing plantation sector. For bplt, thier way of mgt is always being interrupted by board IE; GMD of ltat and board who have personal agenda.
The strategic alliance is win win n minority too make quick buck. No grumble n enjoy for a few thousand profits

Just have the time to glance thru KLK's annoucement. Here are my observations.
1. I appear to be that KLK is not insistent to take BPlant private. If PAC reaches 90% control, Bplant will be privatised. It all hinge on who were the aggressive buyers last 2 months and what are their ultimate goals .
2. KLK is granted a call option to acquire the remaining 35% stake in LTAT/Boustead's hands. It's reported that call option price is $1.55 too. Details of the call option is not available including the excercise period . It may suggest that eventual privatisation is in 2 steps to mitigate political backlash ?
3. There is "potential land arrangement" for highly valuable land ie 222.9 ha in Seminyih and 508.5 ha of Malakoff estate in Seberang Perai. These 2 parcels may rake in as much as $600-700 mil to Bplant. Will that be paid out as special dividend post SCA benefitting LTAT/KLK ? Will there be more development land disposal post the SCA ?

Tmr won't be 1.55.. There will be some discount to 1.55.. Later after klk egm only price move closer to 1.55.. Bear in mind it's not related party. Major shareholders of klk can vote for it. So chances high shareholders klk will approve. Then only general offer will take place

KLK's annoucement clearly mentioned that the deal is NOT subject to KLK's shareholders approval. EGM shall be called by Boustead to approve the disposal. But you know that Boustead is 100% controlled by LTAT. Therefore Boustead EGM is just a formality.
You can take that the offer at $1.55 is on the table and won't "fly" away.
There is really no rush to sell unless one need the money urgently.
Take a few days to allow more news to surface and decide subsequently.
If Bplant remain listed, it is not a bad idea to keep holding Bplant to see how KLK enhance the valuation of the company in near term.

Completion of privatization, LTAT and Boustead will own 51% and KLK 49%. As we are all aware, there are less restrictions to restructure being a private entity. For many of us who have had a romanticism with BPlant, don't despair. They will certainly "relist" it in the near future and "unlock value" the company after some surgical reconstruction. Plenty of money to be made to "unlocking value" After all BPlant has a pedigree dating back to more than a hundred years.
