potential bond ( high entry ticket, by the standard of most of us here ) subscribers are high net worth individuals, probably from a totally different league . do you really think they would be simply 'conned', so as to say, where ?
do not underestimate the wisdom of others

different people will react differently on those events already occurred and definitely some will think ' this is a rubbish company '
but seriously think you need to support your case for the last 2 issues in your list with more facts or information or how you come to these postulations
unless you expect people to just take your words for granted in their investment decisions

my point is, whether or not the stock is a rubbish, depends on timing of tracking, if your methodology of defining a ' rubbish ' is adopted
I am not suggesting you to start tracking at 0.535, in fact I think it is meaningless to repetitively post the tracking as price movement is well available market info
2015-01-21 10:23 | Report Abuse
Of course, not everybody gets to buy at RM0.535
and so many didn't , thanks to the negative spinning around here
2015-01-21 10:22 | Report Abuse
If you would track the price starting from 16/12/2015 , the gain in price as at 20/1/2015 would be 28% , in a time frame of slightly longer than 1 month
2015-01-21 10:16 | Report Abuse
Kukuman, you are very smart to start tracking the price on 13/11/2013 at RM1.12
as long as the price stays below 1.12 or not far above it when Benalec is on uptrend, you will, in your train of taught, stay invincible in any of your argument.
put more substance in your postings, would you ?
everybody is aware of the current price movement , not that it is something people don't know

luckyfei, I do not think there is anything wrong with the fundamental of this company.
Good news seems to have little positive impact on share price because they are overshadowed by the still weak sentiment in oil market.
The Middle East producers have stressed a dozen times in the past 6 weeks the they won't curb output to halt the steep fall. In fact these countries seem to actually WANT further price decline as part of attempt to force cutbacks by US shale drillers.
" It wouldn't be the first time US drillers are caught up in an OPEC battle for market share. In 1986, Suadi Arabia opened its taps and sparked a four-month , 67% plunge that left oil just above USD 10 a barrel. The US industry collapsed, triggering almost a quarter-century of production declines, and the Saudis regained their leading role in the world's oil market." --Bloomberg
Until we see the repetition of history or signs of it taking place , sentiment remains week.
Many are betting oil to head USD 40 in coming months. We can only see the market dynamics taking its course for the time being , while hoping for the turn of event to start unfolding.

Berjaya corp share price dropped from a high of RM1.87 in April 2010 to current low of around RM0.40 . Is this a rubbish company ?
Well many think so, many others condemn VT a super conmen. But hey , a look into the quality of assets it holds ( the berjaya hill , the share holdings in high flying Berjaya Toto 52%, Berjaya Auto 57% to be sold down to 36%,realising a gain of RM1.023Bil, Berjaya land 62.5%and Berjaja food 58% to say but a few ) reveals the otherwise. A rubbish company indeed - the market only values it at RM1.73bil ,if you see it from share price perspective , especially if you have bought at RM1.87.
But, for those who bought at a price close to RM0.10 in year 2006 and held till 2010, it was goldmine !
So there are those who see rubbish in goldmine, and those who see goldmine in rubbish.
It is all about timing , holding power, willingness to take a balance view of the unfolding events, and of course, holding power
As one forumner put it , over short term the share market is a voting machine but over longer term period the stock market turns into a weighing machine

And, talking about anger, yes I do see that many of your postings are centered around it.
You are angered by the huge loss , in excess of 30K if I remember you correctly, reflected by your
almost full page posting consisting of only 2 repetitive words when Ben was trading around Rm0.60.
Then your anger was channeled towards the MD ( being crazy for power ) , presumably you are a personal friend of the eldest brother ( you did say that you know him quite well )
And your anger with the company was explicitly evidenced by this:
" We must not subscribe the bond raising and reject it so that the directors have no choice to consider to reissue it at 5% higher rate. Also as voice to show our dissatisfaction on the management " -- It seems you wish for the fall of the company
You against taciturn and the insider trading allegation? I see it this way:
Your anger towards the company has deluded your mind , and it created an object ( the insider trading ,in your reasoning ) against which you can land your fist of fury.
where, I am not against you. It seems to me that you are being burnt by the fire of anger, and the fire stops you from seeing things straight. Learn to let go , and life can be at least gooder, if not better.
Pardon me if I sounded rude. Sometimes we are emotionally worn out ( me included , of course )
especially during this stressing period. Take some rest, go for holiday if you would, and you may find a new self in you.

where, agree with you insider trading is not fair to all of us.
But, think about this, if taciturn is involved in insider trading, wouldn't it serve his interest best if he just keep the information to himself rather than share it here in this forum?
And, you chosed to disregard the answer ( to the question you raised ) provided by taciturn :
And most recently I called Benalec's office . I asked to speak to whoever is handling to IR. I asked a simple question, "As per the Hwang Affin report on December 31, has the EIA approval been granted, or has some form if developmental order been given?" The answer was. " No, EIA approval pending "
"This is something that anyone can do"

Ha ha , I am all but amused, it is all about taking side coming to this forum as far as where is concerned. As investor we are interested in only events that will shape the future movement of share price. The all important issue now is whether EIA is through or not through, does the name of employee who revealed the status of EIA issue ( if indeed DEIA is approved ) matter so much ? where, you seem to to be more concerned with petty and trivial matters rather than the big picture.

Oil price going 40? most if not all of the shale producers in US are long gone by then, taking into consideration that many of them produce oil on borrowed monies

Taciturn, you are doing a great service to this forum with your deep knowledge of the business. Do not be bothered or discouraged by remarks from those obviously having personal issues with the company.Matured investor should act rationally and to do that we need info, whether they are negative or positive.
Sometimes we make very bad decision based on the info we gather and suffer heavy loss. Well, we have to learn and go on . No point blaming others or our investing target , and cry like a boy.

UAE energy minister said OPEC countries will refrain from cutting crude output even if prices slide to 40USD. Does that sound like stabilizing oil price is OPEC's priority now? It seems more like they are betting lower prices would shake out the shale producers. Future industry landscape is their main concern at the moment. The falling is going to take a while to abate.
2014-12-12 13:03 | Report Abuse
Nothing is wrong with the company. Time being there is nothing to be done other than to see oil market going its course.
powerwk, I do not see how the NTA has any significant bearing on how investors decide what to do. The value of assets means little if order book
is not turned into sales recognition . That said, the order book exceeding RM5bils ( minus minority interest ) in scomies makes scomi very much undervalued.
2014-12-11 14:28 | Report Abuse
Current unfolding of events takes place at great magnitude and rapid pace . Will global shakeout of weaker players take place quickly to effect a turn of price towards stability? The middle east countries seem determined to crush the shale producers.
2014-12-11 13:40 | Report Abuse
Kuwait offers new discount, Saudi questions the need to cut production, Iran says price may drop to 40USD if no unity within OPEC . DO these seem like these middle east countries concerned about current falling price? What concerns them more is future industry landscape . They are taking price war to US shale producers and probably won't stop until shale producers are shaked out.
2014-12-11 13:05 | Report Abuse
happyvic, I do agree with you on possible reduction in capex by oil producers, but I think it is sentiment that does more damage.
2014-12-10 17:50 | Report Abuse
The recent unfolding development have been huge and rapid, sure scary , but that also paves ways for quick turn of event back to 'normal'.
2014-12-10 17:44 | Report Abuse
The journey to that development is of course , horrible. But hei, isn't that time for us to buy low?
2014-12-10 17:37 | Report Abuse
If oil should drop below 60USD it is perhaps time to buy rather than sell.
It is not like everybody stops producing becos price is low. Low price hurts shale producers more than conventional drillers. Even at 40USD most of the traditional oil producers will still be at profit, hence will continue producing. Shale producers? perhaps continue pumping until their facilities cease to be capable of producing any more. That's why the Arabs are more concerned with future landscape rather than current price.
2014-12-10 17:07 | Report Abuse
I am confused. Oil price falls becos everybody continues pumping oil. If everybody continues production, then industry activities will go on as usual. How does that translate to depressed state of scenerio for oil supporting companies ? Anybody?
2014-12-06 10:51 | Report Abuse
kawteongeng,if indeed crude is falling to 40 USD, then now is perhaps the beginning to an end to the shale boom experienced in US. Most if not all of the shale producers will be gone by then , unless they can come up with newer technologies to bring costs substantially down. KLCI? perhaps 25-30 % , some said.
Viewed from the other side of coin, continual fall in oil price is premised on increasing supply. Increasing supply essentially means business as usual for oil supporting industry, that is , existing contracts being executed . Market sentiment will of course be affected, new exploration and drilling retarded, and future capex downsized.
What that means is the oil supporting industry will enter a period of high sales recognition ( of contracts already awarded ) and low tender.
What does that leave for scomi ? an order book exceeding RM 5 bils ( in Scomies )to be recognized in years to come.
