NEW DELHI (Sept 23): A severe rout in palm oil is about to get worse, with influential trader Dorab Mistry forecasting a slide to RM2,500 a tonne by year-end as production recovers strongly and demand languishes.

That represents a slump of about 30% from current levels and is a long way down from a closing record of more than RM7,000 per tonne in April. Mistry, director at Godrej International Ltd, said he’s bearish because of robust production and demand destruction caused by very high prices previously.

All his followers of Next buried their pain in silence and calvin moved onto another "brilliant" stock find. Laughable, entertaining but don't be fooled that money is made through this promoter.

A mad-hatter Calvin is. Telling everyone and everyday, his excellent foresight (eagle eye) and how "clever" he is. Humility is not among his character. ;-)

For someone with a long term portfolio with a great track-record, calvin is disadvantaged when pitted against this person. Among the stocks in the portfolio, there are many with multiple baggers. Moreover, dividends of millions have been realised over the many years. Of course, the portfolio values did decline in certain period of its long tenure, but a value investor who knows his companies with great businesses need not have to sell. Over the long term, the market does realise the true values of these growing companies.

Most money in the market is made by sitting still, in the market; rather than trying to time the market.

Poor calvin.

There are a few confidence tricksters in this i3 forum. Calvin is a prolific promoter. You must be a fool to think that he is here to make you rich.

Just look at Netx that he promoted, and you are better to avoid this calvin for obvious reasons.

Margin of Safety

The function of the margin of safety is, in essence, that of rendering unnecessary an accurate estimate of the future.

calvin is overconfident. Too overconfident to be a smart investor.
He is predicting and forecasting so many forward events which are certainly not knowable.
Alas, he thinks he is investing but he isn't. :-)

Fintec Global Bhd reported record profits in the financial year ended March 2020 and 1HFY2021, which were 11 and 19 times greater than total sales in these respective periods. How was this possible? Thanks for fair value gains in its investment portfolio. The Edge magazine had highlighted these in numrous articles.


Fintec Global Bhd sits at the centre fo a complex web of small listed companies (including Netx, promoted by Calvin). Most of these are in the red but have nevertheless recorded eye-popping share price gains over a short period.

Who were the patsies?

This is a highly manipulated stock. It is part of the game of Fintec Global Berhad.

When dishonest Calvin promoted this Netx stock, I was not surprised there would be excitement among the herd.

For those who did not understand the difference between investing and speculating, their hard earned money were soon separated from their pockets. In this game promoted by Calvin, if you did not know who was the PATSY, it was likely you.

Plantation stocks.

Just ask a plantation owner. Perhaps you are one yourself.

Small plantation holders are happy the last few months. The CPO prices were high and their small holdings were generating higher income. A good yielding well maintained plantation yields RM 1,500 per acre (net profit). In past, this ranged from RM 600 to less than RM 1,000 per acre.

For the larger plantation holders, they too have benefited. However, due to severe labour shortages, not all their fruits could be harvested and for some, this reduced income was "painful".

For the oil palm refiners, they had to pay more for their input CPO and this required increased working capital. The smaller refiners find their financials stretched and this was stressful for them too.
