`not sure whether the moving of Jakarta's capital to Borneo will have a positive impact or not. How is the company going to transport steel pipes from Kuching to southern Borneo. Unless there will a new highway to be constructed that stretches direct to the new capital.

Thanks sifu calvin. Sold at a profit when it hit 0.50++ and now bought back at 0.40++. Wont mind loading up more due the reasons highlighted by you but then, its receivables stands at a whopping RM90+ million while its revenue stands at RM40 million. I think i wont load up kao kao this time but just a little. Hopefully along the way the management or auditors could come up with any statement addressing that bulging moneys owed to Dutaland.

One possible reason is that they are booking paper profits. Their entry is way low than the rm5. This is the same across their portfolio of aeon, shangrila, etc. Will need to see their latest annual report other than Aberdeen who are the fellas trading this counter.

enning22, current basket i have is at 3.56, bought at various prices including 4.50+ a year back, some at 3.8, some at 4.10. But i got to agree with you, my dream is for it to go down to 2, would be glad to do some averaging around 2.50 to 2.80 for at least 3 to 5 years play. Dividend yield at around 2 is a few more times more than FD =)

Weng 77,
Even if you take profit before tax minus its whole of other operating income (reversal of impairment loss, gain on disposal of PPE, etc), there is still an increase in profitaiblity, 47% increase compared to 2014.

Mr. Koon, nice article. However, we still need more doctors to fill up public hospitals or private practice (to increase competition among themselves to reduce their stagerring profesional medical fees). Also, we still need blue collar workers, how often do you see a Malaysian manning blue collar jobs that we tend to shun? Point is, if everyone gets to earn RM1 million a year and be happy, who is going to do the less glamarous work? Capitalism has a way of balancing this issue. However, i salute your philanthropy, giving a chance to the less fortunate.

I think there is an indirect link or influence somehow. MACC and Inland Revenue Board together like brothers hitting Sarawak hard.

bidding only. For many years they always say they bid x amount but at the end only received a fraction of the said x amount. chillax.

Fundamentals remains intact (huge cash pile, low debts, recurring sales of its conventional business on steel pipes and gas cylinders). The only two problems (its engineering segment and O&G) are taking a beating with lack of contracts. These two problems are the major drawbacks, dragging its profitability down hard over the years. Well, i am not sure how Pan Borneo highway is going to solve these two problems, especially its O&G unit Oceanmight.

totally agree. this counter is more like buy and sit for dividends type.not much of volatility, except it once hit 5 +, then drop back to 4+.

lol logitrader, the major owners acquiring bits and pieces out of a whole big pie does not mean much. For the past few years till now, they only buy like a mere 5,000 units, at most, 10,000 units once a month or once every quarter. What we need is these major shareholders to scoop up in bulks of more than RM100,000 in one or two sitting, otherwise small fish like us will just need to sit and wait out for other big fish.
On a related note, Moridian did indeed bought a huge chunk at RM2.00, but that didnt do anything, in fact, right after they bought more, the price went down to a low of RM1.60.
In fact, one of the top 30 shareholder for many years had just sell off most of his stakes when the price hit RM2 to RM2.70. Just take 2012 and 2013 annual report and compare the top 30 shareholders and you will see a missing person in 2013.I'll give you a hint, his last name is Tan. Malaysia's unknown warrant buffet...his name appears in the top 30 in most good quality stocks (Pintaras/ Pelikan, etc)
Nevertheless, for those who manage to buy at RM1 to RM1.60, just enjoy the dividend yields yeah. Those who bought at RM2 and above, good luck to you in averaging it out or waiting it out....for bigger fish to come.
Logitrader, seems we have some common shares as well (Pintaras), haha.

wow. even after Mondiran Investment Partners Limited whacked 500,000+ @ RM2 last week, it still went down today, due to lack of contract wins. Come on KKB, KKB better buck up in securing big contracts, otherwise there will be more disposals by retailers.

I'm guessing based on past listings of SPAC, the opening price will be RM1.00 (inclusive of both mother share + warrant) and will hit the high of RM1.15, netting those rich baggers who managed to get allotted the pre-ipo shares a cool 53.33% profit. Note that those who managed to get the allotted units will have a free warrant and hence the price mentioned earlier is the combination of both mother share and warrant. Mother share price open price will vary between 0.80 to 0.98, banking on the warrant that it will exceed 0.15. Was unsuccessful in getting allotted, not a single lot. Damn angry. Will be jumping into its mother share if its RM0.85 and warrants at RM0.1...damn those rich buggers scooping up everything all the time..

Mondrian Investment Partners Limited, the number 4 or 5 major shareholder has been increasing its stakes in KKB in the open market. Smells like something is brewing.
