Public health expert Datuk Dr Zainal Ariffin Omar criticised the approval of the Covid-19 vaccine in Russia as non-ethical for its lack of full clinical trials and scientific data.


“The scientific community is worried as basically, a vaccine will need to undergo full clinical trials to identify its efficacy and side effects.

“So, it is premature for Russia to be releasing the vaccine now without conducting large-scale trials that would produce data to show whether it works, ” he said.

Public health medicine specialist of Universiti Malaya Medical Centre, Associate Professor Dr Rafdzah Ahmad Zaki said for any available vaccines, the effectiveness of the vaccine needs to be evaluated before it can be considered.

“With any new vaccine, there will be a committee to discuss and decide on the evidence of whether the vaccine works or not, ” she said.

The head of the Centre for Epidemiology and Evidence-Based Practice noted that any risk or benefit will be balanced before a vaccine is approved, such as whether the tested population is similar to Malaysia’s community and the kind of resources needed to implement the vaccine.

Dr Zainal, who is Malaysian Public Health Physicians’ Association president, cited an example of a dengue vaccination which was approved by the World Health Organisation (WHO). But even then, it was later found to have caused a lot of deaths and complications.

“Luckily after evaluation, we did not implement the use of the dengue vaccination for our country.

“That is why the scientific and medical community is very cautious of approving a vaccine for the community because we don’t want to be wrong for using a premature product, ” he said.

Dr Zainal expects a vaccine to be made available in the country only by the middle or end of 2021.

“Any vaccine will help the situation later on. But at the moment, we don’t have the capability of developing new vaccines. But we can be involved in any trials or collaborate with international agencies for trial purposes, ” he said.

prompted a U.S. Customs import ban, including improving its
migrant workers' living conditions, its managing director said

In engagements with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection
(CBP) last week, the world's largest medical glove maker said
the standard of workers' accommodation was one of two issues
highlighted.
CBP placed a detention order on imports from two
subsidiaries of Top Glove last month, an action the authority

"They wanted us to take care of the living quarters of the
foreign workers," Managing Director Lee Kim Meow told Reuters.
He said repair and upgrade work was taking place at
accommodation the CBP had singled out and other migrant workers'
housing would be improved as required.

technology to enable workers to raise issues affecting their
living conditions as problems with workers' quarters far from
the head office had been overlooked.
The other issue CBP identified is referred to as
remediation, or paying back workers fees they paid to employment
agents to get their jobs.
Top Glove made its first remediation payment to migrant

Lee said Top Glove will pay the estimated total of 53
million ringgit ($12.65 million) in remediation, covering around
10,000 foreign workers from Bangladesh, Nepal, Indonesia,

Spoofing : when a trader places a bid or offer on a stock with the intent to cancel before execution. Layering is a more specific form of spoofing. Layering is when a trader places multiple orders that he does not intend to execute

For example :

Mid trade , which is after 9.15 and before 4.30 pm , if you see a huge sell volume being ‘ swallowed’ by a shark , don’t rejoice .
Always counter check with the net buy -sell .
Was the transaction successful or did all ‘ 99 traders’ withdraw their que to sell simultaneously or get filled instantaneously .
Here , your index of suspicion must be raised about ‘ the same network of sharks buying and selling’

Early morning , pre trade , you see a queue to buy , wait a few minutes to see whether it reflects with a spike in price . What you see may be 1 million buying at 3.4 but what you don’t see is 3 million selling at 2.9 . Vice versa .

At Careplus , as observed , layering and spoofing is happening to drive the prices lower .
