Yeah, looking at the last 3 years, their sept quarter report is usually out by end Oct or latest by 5 nov last year. Maybe this time, they have too much receipts and they are having a hard time counting the money. Hehehe
Judging from price today, looks highly likely will be out after market close. Last chance to top up?

I don't own shares in this stock but purely out of curiosity, while there was a 20% drop in profit y-o-y, there was also 100% increase in profit and a small jump in revenue compared to previous quarter. So, is this so bad?

I bought more yesterday at average 2.75+ - for an overall average price of around $2.55 this stock is my second largest investment after SAM. Returns for the holding period has been pittance so far. Hopefully, it's turning bullish soon

Are there really a lot of retailers in this stock? I mean, the stock has plummeted to new lows which I'm sure many would have cut loss long ago, no? I was thinking most of the daily transactions were done between market makers and day traders with very little genuine retail participation. I just hope the few (hopefully) retailers won't be hurt too badly

Yeah, after consolidating like forever, it's finally moving. Love this stock. It has a real competitive advantage in them being the logistics leader in Sarawak and with the pan Borneo highway in the works, they are poised for further upside. Easily $4 fair value

Agree with Birkin collector, padini lacks a killer value proposition in their product offering. Uniqlo has a real competing edge on using technology and good quality materials yet priced competitively. It's really my favorite casual wear. And it's very obvious that while there are clearly shopping crowds with bags at uniqlo, the ones at padini are significantly fewer and more worryingly, holding no shopping bags from the stores.

Usually, any major play will happen a few days after dividend ex date. Somehow, syndicates want to have the cake and eat it too. Then again, if you can't eat it, why have the cake? Who created this stupid proverb?

There is no dilution on the part of temasek. Since they owned practically all the outstanding ICULS, when they do convert, Which they eventually will since it expires sept 2017, temasek will end up owning more than 80+ % of SAM. Together with their CEO and parties in concert, easily 85% or more.
If I was temasek, aerospace engineering is their newest division yet showing the strongest growth with visible recognition from the clients. Therefore, it's simply makes great economic sense for them to privatize this now and then realist it later at even greater earnings multiple. Back of envelope calculation shows even if they were to offer $10 a share, that would only equate to RM 300 mil or SGD 100 mil - pittance for temasek
Otherwise, there is an often quoted speculation of a bonus or share split to address the illiquidity or free float. Whichever you lol at it, some corporate exercise is in the offing and as long as they can replenish that already huge order book, what is there not to like about this stock?
As I've said, I continue to load up on Sam on weakness at the support levels I've revealed before.

It'd close 7.93 if not for an overzealous seller of 10000 shares at 7.84. Must have been a opportunistic scalper who bought it on the way up.
Anyway, have to start my baiting at support levels all over again

If your balls are titanium grade, 7.7 to 7.75 is a price to go in now as it's the immediate support of previous rally low
Failing which at 7.5 + is a psychological support while 7.2 to 7.3 would be a very staunch support and probably safest price to go in
I'm somewhere all along those levels. Don't wanna reveal my price anymore as I can never get them since there will always be someone parked ahead

I am inferring that not unless there is any deterioration in its business model or an industry-wide slump, I'm holding it for a multi bagger over the longer term. Significant weakness is a further sign to add.

I sold down 19 lots from 7,95 to 7.92 to test the market maker.
Didn't like the volume churning around 7,80-7.85 day before and at 7.90 ish yesterday.
I'm just expecting a little correction to take place soon and seeking to buy back from 7.50 to 7,76
With a green opening on low volume, it was a cautious opening and I see it as a bait for buyers to queue before the market maker slammed them. So, I slammed first
I still have 43 lots which remains a core holding

Which also means that based on a 15% free float, that will equal about 30 mil shares
At RM 10 a share, that's just RM 300 mil or SGD 100 mil - truly chicken feed for temasek
2015-10-21 12:03 | Report Abuse
A quick tabulation shows that on full conversion of ICULS, temasek will own about 85% of Sam and that's excluding parties acting in concert like the CEO etc
Seems like it makes perfect economic sense for temasek to consider
2015-10-21 11:45 | Report Abuse
Purely for discussion and to a greater extent, fantasizing sake. How much is it gonna cost temasek to make an MGO considering with the ICULS conversion, they would own like more 80+ % of the company
And since aerospace mfg is still in the company's infancy which will be a major growth engine, they could list it at significant premiums later
If they do, I hope temasek offers shareholders a good premium, not do a scumbag Ong Leong Huat on PJD

I'm surprised why no UMA yet from bursa. I'll be eager to hear their reply. Maybe along the lines of our major shareholder, Temasek, is considering options for a corporate exercise that may result in an MGO for RM 10 a share. Hohohohohohoho

Itudia and rohank, I have no dissapointment with Sam not going lower for me to buy.
Therefore, I don't predict but anticipate ie if my anticipation pans out, that's the action I will take or vice versa. Predicting it's next move is a folly and usually detrimental to trading health.
And trading is like a landmine. I won't wanna be a hero or looked courageous but prefer to make sure that the odds are in my favor before I take the trade.
Maybe I'm playing it too safe but heck, as long as I can sleep peacefully at night. So, I'm truly happy if I can't add any further to my original positions
Cheers guys. To, SAM

The levels of consolidation is dynamic and subject to market forces.
At 6.7 - 6.8 which is the base leading to start of the rally , it's worth a small exposure. At 6.50 which will be very strong support, I will add more.
So, leekh5555, you will be competing with me at those levels
2015-10-19 19:33 | Report Abuse
Yes, maybe it's self gratification that I posted that but it was precisely my thought process why I decided to sell the stock.
I don't know whether you have seen an RFQ or RFP by multinationals but I can tell you they are very comprehensive and air tight. And it is usually the vendor that fails to deliver in the end when they are either overzealous or overly optimistic in their replies to the RFP to get the contract that they overlooked certain important technicalities.
You are assuming that century's counter claim of 8 mil is winnable for them against nestle 21 mil. Highly subjective and could be protracted delay. Damage is already done. Not only will they never get another nestle contract, it's attracting the wrong publicity on why century couldn't deliver. Some customers on the same requirements as nestle may not consider them in the future. This may benefit competitors like TN logistics
Yeah, the stock price may have already been bombed out and reflected but such cases usually cause an overhang to share price so I'm not taking further risks with century. I have larger exposure in Harbour Link which I think has real competitive advantage in being the leader in Sarawak plus with the slew of infra projects announced, they are bound to excel
Anyway, good luck guys and I do sincerely hope I'm wrong
2015-10-19 13:40 | Report Abuse
Big multinational companies like nestle won't sue if they are not confident. They have stated clearly in the writ of summons that century has failed to fulfilled requirements and conditions in the request for quotation. Usually, these multi national companies have very bullet proof RFQ or RFP in that requirements are spelt out succinctly, clearly with with little loopholes. For nestle to take action and for the amount stated, it's quite obvious certain material requirements were not met by century.
I'm all out today having gone in on Thursday for a quickie. Intended to hold a while but court cases like these will be a drag to stock price until it's settled, and if it's not in their favor, then chia lat

Relax. This is the long overdue shakeout. However it closes today (except a long white candle), the next few days should see it find its consolidation footing around the 6.7 to 6.8 region, being the strong support before the next spurt. For the amount of shares I have, I won't sell cos it's difficult to buy back at levels and quantity that I want. So, I'm holding

If the market maker so desires, he can scare the shit out of most holders if they do a flash plunge now, with the aim to collect on the way up again.
If they do that, hold on to your holdings as the volume suggests in no way any distribution is happening. Any flash crash is an opportunity to collect at support levels.

Bro rohank, if that rumors of temasek's aerospace biz consolidation into SAM is true, that should be the most welcome news and the biggest catalyst to drive the stock to an altitude of 10,000 meters
2015-10-15 15:02 | Report Abuse
Certainly, a mere stock split would not drive the price up the magnitude it's doing. Must be a major development on the corporate and or fundamental front.
The next quarter result is expected to be stellar. Bonus, split and dividend in the offing?they have to address temasek's ICULS conversion sooner or later

Hahahhaha. Woohooo. Sam is triumphing to the skies indeed
2015-10-13 09:48 | Report Abuse
Figuratively speaking, This stock you can just hold and hold till kingdom come.
With tenasek owning so much stake in the company, any further conversion of the ICULS will result in either some corporate exercise or M&A activity to address the free float, or maybe even trigger a VGO
They are on a very strong trajectory after finally stomping a mark in the aerospace industry.
I usually don't fall in love with my stocks but as it is, there is no reason to sell cos it's not easy to buy back it on weakness

I just can't understand why some people continue to blame or scapegoat others to either hide their own weakness or camouflage their inabilities. What's wrong with these people? OTB doesn't owe any of you a living, as long as he's responsible to his subscribers with a clear conscience, I can't see why the non subscribers are pressuring him for what I see, as an attempt for free lunch.
If you know about the Laws of Energy Excahnge, it says to get what you want (material possessions, knowledge, love etc), you will need to expense out the equivalent or more (time, money, sacrifices etc). Getting something for nothing is a debt that will eventually be made payable, and usually many times over.
Thus, if you can't develop your own, buy from others - it's how the billionaires make money. They have acumen and vision but probably lacked execution skills, so they hire. If one begins to appreciate this simple point of life, you will begin to realize your weakness and henceforth, your strength.
What's wrong in him making a couple of bad calls when the majority are right and rewarding? Tell me a system which gives 100% accuracy. And even if OTB gives his sell call, is its a guarantee that all will reap max profit?
The turtle trader system has proven this wrong. The creator of the system taught the same techniques to a group of students and yet, all of them scored various results. It all boils down to discipline and your mental fortitude to stomach risks.
Learn that first, then you will realize that trading is a battle with our own self and finally awaken to the fact that there is really no one to blame. Come to this realization and its your first step to trading profitably for a living

I've sold all my holdings of gkent recently., bought around 1.25 to 1.32, all sold around 150-1.54 after the announcement of their good quarterly result.
No doubt it's a good stock to own and a fundamentally sound one (which was the reason for purchase in the first place) - but in the light of our plunging currency, I'm a bit concerned about their execution risk, where raw materials, PPE and labour, especially, may spike upwards. Not sure if this component of currency costs risks have been addressed in their contract.
even the Myanmar waiter at my favorite chap fan stall has gone home citing that it's not feasible to work here anymore. Was told even the foreign chicks (without feathers) are complaining about having to service more clients for the equivalent take home pay compared to before .). So, yes, currency risks is a real concern to me but may wish to revisit this stock again later

Ken, I'm just a mickey mouse shareholder. The strongest temporary blip to the share price is when ooi Teik Bee recommends his client to sell. That will most certainly create immediate weakness and depends on the retracement, possibly a chance to accumulate more
2015-10-03 11:27 | Report Abuse
Itudia, don't worry. The 5.7 level is a strong 50% Fibonacci retracement support of the existing uptrend and possibly the lowest level it may consolidate in the event of a further market meltdown.
I will be waiting again to accumulate at those levels and up to yesterday,I have not sold a single lot too

And one last thing, for the contracts mentioned above, the currency announced was USD and exchange rates equivalent were quoted in their announcement at between 3.6 to 4.
With our currency now at 4.45, can you see how much more blind profits they could potentially make just by not having to do anything more?
So, what is there not to like about this company? Maybe, the dilutive iculs. That's a small blip when they have such large and possibly, replenishing order book.
