Besides the goreng/speculation/rights noise. Has anyone here actually checked the fundamentals? What's wrong with it fundamentally? I thought profits were made and they have projects on the way. Is the balance sheet bad? Too much debt? Too much payables? Too little cash?

Calvin, thanks for the explanation. I was a bit concerned Datuk was selling. But I guess it's a small portion.

When is the best time to buy some ask. One good indicator-when you are most scared. Everyone always quotes investors but never follow through in action. Yes, buy when people are fearful.
Who is people? You are a person, you are part of the "people". So when you are most scared-that is when everyone else would also be most scared-and that is when you buy (among other factors).

Yes the financials are bad, so is Telsa, Uber, and Snapchat. This is the risk of growth investing. If you want good QoQ financials, dandy bottomline, low gearing, sunny companies-there are a lot of matured aunties to go into (Dutch Lady, Chin Well, IOI,etc.)

Just ask yourself this question amid all the noise. Yes all companies have their struggle, even all of Calvin's favourite companies also have their hurdles to overcome. The question is , do you believe management will mitigate this risk over the long term?

Very good company. This is one of my long term holds. I don't have many long term holds, just 4 names. Rest are for intraday or swing trading can hop here and there. But my long term names can hold till give grandchildren-maybank, dutch lady, united plantation, chin well.

Tomorrow will test 0.88-0.90. Break the ceiling
2017-03-06 10:10 | Report Abuse
Looking at the graph, all who bought mid last year already sold profit from Dec-Feb. Then no more people to sell to-all buyers dropped-weak hands exchanged to smart hands. Now there are people coming back, although there still are people who got in earlier with an average of 0.88-now either cutting cost or averaging down. So let's see-if break 0.88 most likely can break 0.90 fast.
2017-03-06 10:07 | Report Abuse
Cepat volume coming in. Once break 0.86 will go to 0.88 then 0.90-after that sky the limit.

Wow Jaks really can break 1.25!!! I thought strong resistance there, if keep on going will fly already
2017-03-06 09:56 | Report Abuse
KYY buy Jaks 1.15-1.25. Obviously he's looking for it to appreciate futher. For long term holders-buy now and hold for a year. For short term-run up another 5-8%. May KYY will buy another lot later.
2017-03-01 14:07 | Report Abuse
It started with
1) Weak hands selling Jaks at 40 cts to smart hands.
2) Then Jaks jumped over Rm1.20 and smart hands sold to bullish hands.
3) Bullish hands then sold Jaks above Rm1.35 to foolish hands.
What stage are you
1) Weak?
2) Smart?
3) Bullish?
4) Foolish?
Choose one?
Hi calvin,
I'm curious, is this philosophy of yours only applicable to Malaysian shores? So your definition of dumb money to smart money is a 1 dollar range?
So when investors bought Amazon at 500, were they smart, bulish or foolish?

"Even If there is any profits, all of it will be sent back to China. Zero for malaysian shareholders "
Can you elaborate on this comment? It's puzzling to me. The profits will be given to stakeholders of the company regardless of their nationality. That's like me buying Disney in US and saying, all profits from the company will be given to their US citizens and not to me in Malaysia.
Unless you are implying that all their FCF will be funneled back to their other business entities in China while making Shell just an empty vessel which is a form of fraud.

HAHAHAHA
"Reputation damage is a long term effect". I too wish this were true. That in the real world, morality and ethics remain true and business comes second.
Well let's take a look at Wells Fargo fake accounts, 21st Century Fox Sexual Harassment, Mylan Price Gouging, Samsung Battery Recall, , Deutsche bank penalty..Where are all the stocks now? HAHAHA
Best time to buy in my opinion, is not when fundamentals are down, not when competition is heating, not when cash buffers are thinning, not when revenue slows, the best time is when reputation goes down. Because in the real world, noone gives a damn about reputation.

Stronger ringgit boosted Guan Chong Bhd's net profit for the second quarter ended June 30, 2016 (2QFY16) to RM10.66 million, which is over five times the RM1.96 million it had recorded in the same period last year.
The leading cocoa processor in Asia told the stock exchange today that better earnings were due to higher net gain on foreign exchange.
Revenue, on the other hand, only gained 1.2% to RM583.39 million, from 576.56 million a year ago, which is mainly due to higher average selling price of cocoa solids.
The stronger quarterly earnings also lifted its net profit for the cumulative six months ended June 30, 2016 (1HFY16) to RM24.36 million, from RM108,000 a year earlier; while revenue improved 14.7% to RM1.17 billion, from RM1.02 billion.
