M & A is always a tricky matter with a lot of variables to take care of. obviously the 2 parties dont c eye to eye on certain matters, hence the merger failed to take off. One of the so-called beneficiaries of this failed merger the way i see it is obviously the employees, ie no immediate lay-off. otherwise, some have to go, especially branch employees, there cant be two next-door branches in a single township which we c many RHB & AMBANK exist next to each other

if and if war erupts, it will be a quick one, USA is indeed the super power of the world with unchallenged military personnel & equipment. the question now is "what if" war wont happen in the near future but there will be a prolonged war of words between the leaders of these 2 nations? will markets continue to be in depressed mode through out the entire world including our boleh land? i dont know the answer..

people who talk about north korea's saga with USA obviously haven't been through the Iraq war period in 2003.. the negative impact to the stock market was more or less confined to the few days period leading to the war; it was normalized soon after..

While ECRL is noble & good, gestation period to reap its return will be v long; i'd say the billions to be spent on the project would have been better off to pump prime the economy and to uplift people's living standard & decrease cost of living which is continously escalating by the day

news from the edge @ 8.30 am this morning: "KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 9): RHB Retail Research said Hibiscus Petroleum Bhd may rise higher after it breached above the downtrend line drawn in the chart. In a trading stocks note, the research house said this close has sent the stock to its highest close in more than a month, thereby enhancing the positive sentiment. “A bullish bias may appear above the 44 sen level, with an exit set below the 39.5 sen threshold. “Towards the upside, the immediate resistance point is anticipated at the 51 sen level. This is followed by the 56 sen level,” it said."
