There must be rational why YTLP buy into Ranhill. I recon it is due to the shareholders, Johor Corp in Ranhill. Suspected some reorganization on lines of biz will happen btw this two. Water biz all in Ranhill, Power all in YTLP. This will result in YTLP hold more share in Ranhill, with payment via share.

As a buyer, rational based is price tag as low as possible. It is the Seller who want high price.
Ranhill got the risk of losing the water treatment license. But, with Johor Corp there, likelyhood of this happen very slim. Regarding the profitability of water treatment, not sure how much the data center will need the water and bring additional profit to the company.

It was clearly indicated and reported by newspaper, Ranhill will maintain the listing status. I did not see what is the reason of limit down. The low price selling is willing sell basis. This actually create good entry opportunity and proud to be member of YTL group.

a vision businessman, always buy at discount. Then develop the value from there. Thus, holding the stock under YTLP is definitely not a rubbish. The deal is a direct business deals, btw major shareholders which dont even need SC approval. The price later, may not drop either. It is not issuing new shares at 0.995, but it is the major shareholders exit.

read from the announcement, the ultimate YTLP related will hold 51%, this trigger mandatory offer. However, need min acceptance from the rest up to 80%, only can be delisted. It looks challenging. Besides, the doc did not mention intention to delist. Which i dont think YTLP will offer, it is better to make it as subsidiary.
