Nobody is asking for full Sop but at least have one and have a Sop on using the Interpol database esp when 911 did happen in New York.

How come Singapore can use the Interpol database and have the sop since 2008

U r showing weakness in ur argument again.....we r talking weakness in SAR coordination. Even when the other countries did not find anything, common sense and data did point to certain intelligent assumption and not base on area coverage as the sea is a wide open space...

What has ties got to do with ability to search and rescue. Why we have the most ships and planes out there but have not found anything??

We must admit our weakness. We just didn't coordinate well. Wrong info and everyone wanted to talk. From IGP to DCA to Bomoh....when Vietnam did the same the were told to keep quiet and they should do the same to our own ppl too

As every incident is new when it comes to air crash or hijack, the notion of never being in this situation should not arise especially when everyone are willingly helping from different countries. Only difference as stated in FAA is if everything is equal ie passenger of countries, the determining factor of investigation is where the origine of the airline would determine the where the coordinating country should be . In this case it's Mas and hence Malaysia
