Helo evry1..just to add to CityTrader's comment...apart from self discipline, I think Focus is also essential in trading. I'd also say old habits die hard!! I've also just picked up TA and was TA-ing MPCorp..my "technical" thinking said to buy as 2 dragonfly doji were formed followed by a breakout ("3rd time lucky"), shooting star, retracement but with bulls staging a recovery which would be a confirmed BUY should upward trend continue the next day (yesterday - Friday). Price opened high so waited waited n waited for it to ease which it did. Was about to key-in buy @ rm0.45 BUT something else caught my attention...a counter being fried! Left MPCorp to chase the other counter!itchy fingers!!.... But no need to con't lah...malu lah..MPCorp went up to RM0.535 (although closed lower) but the other counter went downhill!Base on sell trigger @ 8% profit, even at rm0.50 would have gotten a good ROI!

So I think apart from discipline, focus on one's stock pick ( in this case I also dunno y MPCorp attracted me to try a TA on it) which u r comfortable that ur analysis is right, is also important.

Sorry my story a bit long- winded!but nway, bro MatrixC and frens, appreciate ur comment on my ahem..kindof maiden TA. tq. LOL..Am very2 novice in TA, so appreciate if I could be corrected.

Yup that was noted jenny. But i think left hand right hand magic show! tanker mkt x foreseen to recover for d next 12 - 18 mths (it seemed). + oil price keep escalating + tanker supply exceed demand. Unless they bite the bullet n do a Maybulk, same industry but switch operating vessel type, biz and financials shud improve. Currently bleeding! Conclusion both TA/FA not +ve. Am sorry for those holdingthe shares.

I did post on the scenario surrounding Hubline ie the co, industry, risk and mitigation, strategy etc in the Hubline thread. Ur rationale on trade base on TA sounds fair n very reasonable to me. But do u cross check with the fundamentals when a "technically interesting" counter cross ur path?
FYI, what "attracted" me to salcon was the "story" related to them, tan sri and eco world. :)

Hi Matrix..im no chartist nor TA expert but do lean on it for some form of support. Im mainly in TGOFF but hv been here eversince u started it just so i could prob learn something. Anyway :
1. R ur daily updates solely based on the charts only without considering FA or other "qualitative" elements?
2. how do u decide which counters to add to ur watchlist (out of the thousand-odd on bursa)?
3. Lastly, if u dont mind and its not too much to ask, appreciate if u could intepret TGOFF's chart .. :)

I'm currently looking at salcon n perdana basing on ur daily updates on tech reading.
