My concern about Vivocom....
1) Director sold her shares and no longer a substantial shareholder...on 2nd September, just before the bonus issue.
Susequently, the share price goes lower and lower each day...until yesterday.

The operators DO NOT want to let the price to go up to benefit the speculators who are waiting eagerly to sell their shares to make a quick money...why would they?
Instead, the operators pushed the price down to trap the speculators who are forced to sell at lower price today.
This will not affect longer term investors.

Let's look at the trades of Vivocom for the week:
Date Volume(Lot) Close
9th Sept = 219,660 0.215 (T+4 for 5th Sept Trade)
8th Sept = 192,485 0.220 (Bonus Credited)
7th Sept = 218,010 0.220
6th Sept = 189,070 0.225
5th Sept = 628,078 0.230 (Ex-Bonus)
2nd Sept = 248,313 0.220 (Cum-Bonus - price adjusted for easy comparison)
Trade Volume considered low (below average daily volume) except on the 5th September (ex-bonus day). The Selling after ex-bonus were well absorbed although the price slips marginally.
Today's major force selling started at around 4.15pm. About 11 million shares were sold at 0.215.
My guess...next week may be a better time for Vivocom...
Have a nice weekend.

Their profit wasn't that good in the last quarter mainly due to the set up expenses incurred for Komtar's project (got to spend first without revenue).
Once the project is launch in November 2016, revenue will increase from there.
Although they already start selling the tickets now, revenue in the next Q3 may improve slightly but will not be significant because the full launch will only happen in November 2016.
Therefore, the price of the share may not move much in the near term - I believe. We can expect better Q4 results and a strong upward movement in 2017...

Good comment....I strongly agree with your observation and concerns on this aspect.
OWG NEED TO IMPROVE ON THIS IMMEDIATELY!
They are doing well up in Genting Highland because they can leverage on the marketing efforts and brand of Resort World in Genting Highland. Now they have to do it themselves and they lack resources and talent here.
However, their Komtar project is a good potential business and worth considering for investment while they improve on its marketing and branding.

There is no "easy money" to make in stock market, you need the knowledge and skills...and the reward can be quite handsome when you know how.

It's like a jungle out there...
There are a lot of money you can earn from the stock market and you may lose money too...
One need to have the knowledge and skills to earn the money. Otherwise, you may end up losing some money.
If you know you do not have the necessary capabilities, beware and do not get into something you are not ready for. Don't be influence by greed.
Normally, the hunters are skillful and experienced...
They know exactly how the animals "behave" and how to set their traps...how to entice the animals to get into the trap and when to make the kill.
Stock market is no difference!
The recent positive development in Vivocom (good profits, secured big new contracts and the recent bonus issue would have attracted many speculators and investors, hoping to make some money from this stock.
So are you the hunter or prey???
Hunters with good knowledge and skills are here to win.
If one do not possess the necessary capabilities, one may end up being the prey.
Hunters (Fund manager/Big Boys/Syndicates) set up the "traps" to catch the prey (to make money for themselves)...they will strike when the prey least expected.
Looking at Vivocom scenario, whey would the "hunters" push up the price now to let the speculators to cash out (speculators are eagerly waiting to sell their shares after the the bonus exercise)...no way!
So they are waiting to clear the the weak speculators who would have to sell cheap to the "hunters".
So the price will only goes up after the hunters have collected the cheap shares from the speculators.
So, be the hunter, not the prey...

Good morning...
On Monday, 5th September 2016 Vivocom share goes ex-bonus.
So what does that mean?
1) If you buy on 5th September, you WILL NOT be entitled for the bonus that was approved on 2 August 2016.
2) Those who bought and holds Vivocom's shares on 2 September and earlier will get the bonus issue of 1:4
If you are holding 100,000 shares, you will get 25,000 bonus shares and your total shares in Vivocom will be 125,000 on 5th September based on the 1:4 (1 bonus share for every 4 shares you are holding).
On 5th September, Vivocom's closing shares price on 2 September (RM0.280) will be adjusted to reflect the bonus share issue...
RM0.280 x 4 / 5 = RM0.225 (Adjusted Closing Price)
Note: The total value before and after bonus issue is the same,
Before: 100,000 shares x RM0.280
After: 125,000 shares x RM0.225
Thereafter (after the market opens on this Monday, 5 September), the price of the share will be based on the "supply and demand" of the shares...
Hope this may help to answer some of the queries in this forum.

Currently Vivocom share price still stays below 0.30 when....
1) Company performance in the last 2 quarters was simply excellent with huge profits.
2) The current management have proven their ability to deliver above-sector margins, successfully transformed this company.
3) Extra ordinary achievements - large-scale project wins - billions worth of new contracts - indeed a very bright future ahead.
4) The company is issuing bonus share (1:3) to reward the shareholders - to be completed by this Monday, 5 September 2016.
5) Is the share price fully valued? Absolutely not! With the current profits achieved, its P/E is less than 3.8X compared to the sector average of 15X!!!
What more can one ask for at this moment???
With solid performance and positive corporate development, the share price still stuck at this level...
Why? Why? Why?
So, let's see what are the possible reasons for the current price resistance...
What came to my mind is that it is an ACE company.
So what's the issue?
A) Small company - small capital base.
B) Small number of institutional investor invested in this company.
Therefore, the share price can be easily controlled/manipulated!
INVESTORS SHOULD NOT BE OVERLY CONCERNED OVER THE CURRENT SHORT-TERM PRICE LEVEL.
BE PATIENT...

Looks like a good indicator to me....
This stock is "purposely pushed down" by certain group of people.
Indicator - "systematic programmed selling" (about every 3 minutes) of very small quantity (less than 1000 shares) to buyer...to ensure that the last trade is at buyer's price - to make it looks weak, influencing the retailers to sell lower, at the buyer's price.
Questions:
Why are they doing that?
Who is buying up?

The board of AirAsia Bhd is expected to decide on the sale of a stake in its leasing unit this week. And if the board agrees to the proposed sale of the stake, it would mark the start of AirAsia’s quest to monetise its ancillary businesses related to its core airline business. According to AirAsia group chief executive Tan Sri Tony Fernandes the board meeting will most likely decide on the proposal.
He also said that the proposed sale was part of a move to monetise the
subsidiaries within the group because the market was not attaching a valueto it. “We realise that the stock market is not giving us any value for a lot of our subsidiary businesses. So we will be looking at monetising them over the next few years. Our stake in Expedia is very valuable.
So is the loyalty card business and insurance. Either we see them as a core part of our earnings or we monetise them. It does not mean we will stop doing the business, they are very profitable, but we can use the cash for dividends or to reduce debts,” said Fernandes after the “Power Talks Business” series talk organised by The Star Media Group here. I believe major "force selling" had been executed yesterday and the price may recover slowly today.
Today's closing price is important to traders as the technical chart started showing signs of weakness for the past 3 trading days. In fact the sell signal (Pice Cross EMA Signal & MACD Cross Signal) flagged up after yesterday's closing. However, no need to panic as the other technical signals are still healthy/good.
Today's performance is important to "confirm" the downward trend reflected by abovementioned indicators. These indicators may be very very short term. Take for example the 'sell signals' flagged on 21 July and 28th July, the sell signals were reversed the next day, buy signal emerged in the next day's trading...
"Investors" have less headache following those charts...just buy the shares and hold till investment target is reached.
Have a nice day.

'Investors' are different from 'traders".
Investor look at the potential of the stocks (business, profit & valuation), buy and "hold the stock for a longer term"...until the stock have reached their target price. Therefore, long term investors should not be overly concern/sensitive to the short term price volatility (share price movements).
Trader's approach is different from investor. They are "short term" and employ different strategies. Short term price volatility is critical to them. They may not hold the shares for too long and will take the advantage/opportunity in the short term price trend/movements for their trade (buy and sell).
So you see, investors and traders may have a lot of frustrations with each other in this forum when they present differing views/opinions.
We need to understand and accept the basic differences between these two categories of people (investors/traders) or maybe another group, the punters. Life will be better and happier.
Have a nice evening.

In farming...
We sow the seed
We nurture it (grow it, give water and fertilizers)
We protect it (from natural elements and other potential disasters)
We harvest our crops and enjoy.
Similarly, our investment also follows the same law of nature.
We buy the stock (we see its potential for a good returns to our money)
We must take care of our investments (keep abreast with the current/latest development - natural elements - to ensure that we can act accordingly to protect our investment)
We must also beware of people who have malicious intentions who may influence you to act irrationally that will affect your investment negatively - results in loses/lesser profit (Just like those jealous people or worse the thieves who would steal your crops that is almost ready for harvest.)
We have to pass these tests before we can enjoy a good harvest.
Beware my friends! Beware!

FY16 hit by Komtar’s pre-opening expenses
■ FY6/16 net profit came in 12% below expectations, due to Komtar’s pre-opening expenses.
■ We cut our FY18F EPS by 4% by including more pre-opening expenses in 1Q17.
■ Inspection of Komtar's interactive lift scheduled for late Sep; Komtar to reopen in late- Oct/early-Nov.
■ We maintain our Add rating with a lower target price, pegged at 21.2x CY17F EPS (10% discount to the F&B sector average).
■ Potential re-rating catalyst is the launching of Komtar’s interactive lift.
Komtar’s pre-opening expenses the main culprit
OWG’s FY06/16 net profit of RM12.6m was 12% below our estimate due to the RM3m pre-opening expenses at Komtar. Excluding this item, net profit would have been in line with expectations. 4QFY16 saw a jump in depreciation expenses and sharply lower EBITDA margin due primarily to Komtar again (almost RM2m increase). This caused a 55% drop in net profit yoy in 4QFY16 vs. 4QFY15.
No final dividend in 4QFY16
No final dividend was declared for FY16, below expectations but understandable, given that the size of Komtar’s capex has doubled. We lower our FY17-19F dividend payout ratio from 25% to 20%. Full-year FY16 dividend payout ratio was 17% (vs. our 25% estimate)
Cut FY17F EPS due to more pre-opening expenses
We cut our FY17F EPS by 4% as there will likely be more pre-opening expenses in 1QFY17 since Komtar’s full opening will only happen in 2QFY17. Our FY18F EPS is tweaked for housekeeping and we introduce our FY19F EPS.
Lift inspection scheduled for late-Sep
Regulatory inspection of the interactive lifts at Komtar has been scheduled for late-Sep, with a targeted opening of Komtar (both the lifts and major themed attractions) in late Oct/early Nov.
Share price weakness an opportunity to accumulate
OWG’s recent share price weakness is an opportunity to accumulate, in our view. While investors have been disappointed by the delay in Komtar’s opening, we believe that the stock will re-rate strongly when Komtar’s interactive lifts finally open in Sep. OWG is trading at a FY17F P/E of only 11.5x, which is more than a 50% discount to the F&B sector average. This is unjustified, in our view, as the Komtar delay is merely a timing issue.
Maintain Add rating
We maintain our Add rating on OWG, and the stock is still one of our top small-cap picks for 2016. We lower our target price slightly, still pegged to 21.2x CY17F P/E, a 10% small-cap and liquidity discount to the F&B sector average. Potential re-rating catalysts include the launching of Komtar’s lift in Oct/Nov and higher-than-expected visitation numbers. A key risk is further delays in Komtar’s opening.
