@Ang Kian Teck
Tks for the response. but IWCITY now worth rm1.4x. Not that far away from 1.50.
If IWCITY is a damn good deal then I feel MI might veto. Gaining >50% shares is a long way.
For me, macam not a good sign for the merger.

Clause 1.7, does that mean they don't want to sell IWC shares? Newbie here.

Not so favourable, need Q4 to push and spread rebound. Play Ekovest better.

How come everyone so sure the acquisition will go through? If it's a good deal for ekovest, wouldn't iwc MI veto the proposal?

Rising crude price is trading a one off inventory gain with higher raw material cost. Right? Spread is more reflective unless hedged before drop.

Should be FX gain. It's a reduction in liabilities.

Any idea how Philip 66 commands 25 PE? So vast difference from Malaysia refineries.

I thought HY cannot produce ron95 until euro4 upgrade. Sorry, newbie. I read the AR2016, saw gasoline mainly.

@probability is it possible for petron to invest USD 3.5b while having market cap of only myr3.7b. Can afford ah?

@ probability sifu , I learn a lot from ur post. Thanks. Great analysis on capacity. However, I wonder what's the difference between simple and complex refinery?
2017-12-31 18:34 | Report Abuse
I read it differently. The 763m is states gross, not at 24%. The credit amount charged into p&l is @ effective tax rate.

This article is not fair to value using eps in TA year. Best if use a quarter eps times 11 divide by 12 to get expected eps per quarter in long run. But I agree on tax part. Big impact.

Thanks. Didn't know that. Always thought that spread was bad back then. Wonder why shell did badly given that shell is one of the giant and expert in o&g. Anyone knows?

My reply to him was: “Good luck to you in the New Year.”

@happy888 It has been USD 13.4 on average.
HY manage to make money on USD 8.
U have to imagine what USD 13.4 will do.
A lof of people got confused.
Imagine cost for HY per barrel is USD4.
HY make money of USD 8-4 = USD 4 per barrel.
Now at USD 13.4, HY will make USD 13.4 - USD 4 = USD 9.4 per barrel
That is a massive 200% increment.
And i am using a wrong data by the way... the cost is more than USD4. But just to illustrate what is the potential of USD 13.4
How to come out with 13.4? The graph I refer to is http://www.cmegroup.com/trading/energy/refined-products/singapore-mogas-92-unleaded-platts-brent-crack-spread-swap-futures.html. Is this correct and reflective?

@AKT: Tks for the insight. Actually I already sailang into Ekovest so don't need to warn me on risk analysis. I feel that Ekovest itself is good already but the merger will create more attention.
