Plantation is a long term investment. You cant have the instant yield which most greedy punters are interested. The palm tree needs time to grow and the fruit need time to mature and becomes ripe. The yield shall come gradually or organically as current technology could not make a palm tree to start producing the fruits the next day after it is planted. If not mistaken it need about 3 years. But once it is planted it will keep producing for the next 20yrs. wouldn't that wonderful. Its a money plant.
Of course they up and down of CPO price affects the profit. But are they in the RED during bad or good times?
The good thing about plantation stock, they have landbank. Landbank is tangible asset. It shall appreciate over time. Don't believe look at Sime Darby Property, all are converted plantation land they owned. I guess it is a safer bet compares to MESDAQ stocks. Technology could not last forever. Where is Sony or other Japanese high tech co? They are dirt cheap now. Public is already in favor for Samsung for time being.
I have my trust and believe in the plant. Just like American with thier Soya or Corn!

Zhulian is a very good stock for long term investment. Like what being said and known, good P/E, good div, good EPS. A jewel indeed. Bought since 2009 and til now i never have let it goes off my hands. Always make you wanted to grab more of it if you have more cash. If my EPF money could be invested in Zhulian, i would allocate 1/3 of it.
This is a defensive stock, when most conters are very high, it remains cool and resilient. When the market is soft or uncertain, it will jump into bigger action; upwards. A good stock to keep for the faint hearted dude like me in stock investing.
