Timber products manufacturer Minho (M) Bhd has issued a special share dividend on the basis of one treasury share for every 100 existing ordinary Minho shares.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, Minho said the entitlement date of the special share dividend is May 11, 2016 and the payment date is May 25, 2016.

The ex-date of the issuance is May 9, 2016.

PETALING JAYA: A healthy debate has been sparked among experts, builders and motorists with the news that a Bus Rapid Transit system will be built along the Federal Highway to end road congestion.

The highway, built in 1967, was initially a four-lane road and expanded in 1992 into six lanes.

Spanning 45km from Seputeh to Klang and connecting major cities such as Shah Alam, Subang Jaya and Petaling Jaya, the highway experiences traffic snarls even past midnight.

Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai had announced recently that a ground-level BRT would be built along the Federal Highway to end the congestion.

KUALA LUMPUR (July 28): BIMB Securities Research has initiated coverage on Sunway Construction Group Bhd (SCG) with a “Buy” rating at RM1.20 with a target price of RM1.43 and said that being the largest pure play construction company in Malaysia that provides end-to-end construction solutions to the customers, SCG was unique compared to the others.

In a note today, the research house said SCG will be listed in the Bursa Malaysia on July 28 offering 398.7 million existing shares or 30.8% to the public.

“Based on the IPO price of RM1.20, SCG is priced at a 12.4x of FY14 PE or 11.7x for FY15.

“We believe that it is a reasonable entry for investor for this well-established company with a commendable dividend policy.

“Based on our projection, group’s net earnings are expected to improve by 6.7% for FY15. Buy for SCG with target price of RM1.43,” it said.

Traders may buy as a bullish bias could be present above the MYR1.63 level, with a target price of MYR1.80, followed by MYR1.94. The stock may drift sideways if it falls back below the MYR1.63 mark. In this case, further support is anticipated at MYR1.46, where traders can exit upon a breach to avoid further correction.

According to Minho’s annual report, at last revaluation, the 100-acre land is worth more than RM120mil. Notably, the group’s current market capitalisation is about RM160mil.

Minho’s 100-acre landbank excludes its factory with storage shed, office and workshop which are situated on 145 acres of leasehold land.

That leasehold expires in October 2045. Most of Minho’s land parcels have not been revalued since 2009, with one parcel last revalued in 1999, suggesting that they could be worth a lot more today.

At the company’s current stock price of RM1.46, it is trading at a hefty 52% discount to
its net tangible assets, which as of its latest quarter amounted to RM3.03 per share.
