Handal is aligned to both incumbent Sawarak Govt and PETROS through Jacqueline Fong (daughter of JC Fong) and Musa Aman through his son Hafiz.

Political connections aside, until last years change in CEO, Handal had very limited (or zero) in business in Sarawak and Sabah.

These political connection are starting to present opportunities which finally made Handal profitable, but the leadership under Sunildeep Singh will make it a successful long term company.
