@AllanTingAS,. I did the same thing early last month and sold quite abit at $1.05-$1.07 . This was because many times it reached above $1.05 it dropped back to below $1.00. I thought could trade to pocket a few percent gains by buying back below what I sold . Unfortunately, that never happened.

Re-rating for MNRB will come if the company declares a final dividend of 5 sen, thus bringing the total dividend for FY ending 31-3-2021 to 8 sen. (3 sen interim paid last year). Let's watch for the 4qtr results ending 31st March to be announced in May.

FAIRnREASONABLE, if you are convinced the catalysts for re rating will likely to materialise I think it is good to stay invested . There is no absolute right or wrong . I can make wrong judgement too.

I have no doubt at all it is deeply undervalued. But will a fair valuation ever come? What will trigger that to happen? I asked these questions to myself for quite a while.

Assuming if I have bougt the share at the average price of $1.60 in 2016 ( before BI 1 for 2), the capital cost per share after BI is $1.60 (2/3) = $1.07. I am suffering capital loss comparing to the average price YTD 2021 of $0.91.

BI for free warrant in 2015 can be ignored as the warrant were out of money all the times and became waste paper upon expiry.

After OLH gained firm grip on OSK ( more than 50% ownership) arising from the merger of Osk property and Pjd, it's return is somehow uninteresting. He is probably taking minorities as his banks providing unsecured loans.
In this respect, I place little hope that OLH will do any corporate exercise that lead to higher valuation/ return for minorities.

I remember the 2015 BI is for free warrant which stay out of money all the times and finally vanished upon expiry date . So, this BI for WR can be ignored.

I know I only make equivalent to FD rate of 3-4% from dividend on annualised basis for the last 5 years holding it. Those who bought at the highs in earlier years may suffer negative real return.

@edge, I think the company prospect is improving year by year as more section start contributing toll and with increasing traffic volume. Not forgetting, the 40% holding in Rimbayu will continue to contribute profit over a long period too.

@TheContrarian, thanks for your advice. OSK share price has been hovering between $0.90 to $1.05 , most of the time below $1.00 since 2017. Do you expect any material change that will result substantially higher price from where it is now ? If you don’t mind , pls share your TP for 1-3 months.

@Calvintaneng, I agree to a number of your stock recommendations and they are are often based on Balance sheet strength of the companies. In some cases , you don’t care much of the business prospect eg Talam , Dutaland etc .. i think it is good that you look into both balance sheet , business prospects and track record as selection criteria.
Also, you tend to over promote or over sell the stock . Very good example is Bplant. When you do that it make you a ‘ snake oil salesman’. You just need to state your facts and opinions and that’s it,

@firehawk, agreed with you . This is because there is no benefit at all for OLH when share price goes up. As such , I think he will not pursue any corporate exercise to the benefits of minorities. In fact, it is better for him to keep price low for a prolonged period to totally wear off patience of the minorities so that privatisation can be achieved at the minimum premium.

KYY is back again today telling us why we should buy MNRB. Will retailer suspect his ill intention and dump the stock so that buying opportunity will present for genuine investors ? I don't remember seeing KYY declaring his holding in this stock . Did he ?

KYY's negative sentiment may be over. Fundamental will prevail.

OLH has tight control over this counter. He will let you earn about 5% annual return . Don't hope he will do anything to create value for minorities. That's my many years of encounter. For whatever osk share left , I am just looking for opportunity to ditch all.

KYY seem to have too many haters for whatever reasons. This opposing force can potentially derail the positive momentum on MNRB price . It can be easily achieved due to low liquidity of the stock . I think short term traders or punters should be aware of this risk. For longer term investors, good opportunity to buy the dip and I am ready to do so . Just my own perspective. Not a buy or sell call.

@RTFM, I fully concur with you . What you said can be verified by the published audited materials and by talking to the senior personal in the insurance industry. It's very objective. Not like many haersay, gross assumptions and suspicion posted by KYY haters who got too emotional may be due to some poor encounter they have had.

@Chiovo Capital,. With due respect, I think you are wrong on MNRB with your outdated report. Just like you were very wrong on WCE the first time and wrong again when you try to right the earlier wrong . We yet to see WCE inching to $1.53 which is your latest valuation based on present value . WCE is only $0.43 yesterday , a far cry from your valuation.
My personal friend who is a senior executive in the insurance industry for 30+ years view MNRB positively. He is the man in the industry , but you and I are not ! There is big difference.

Apart from REITS, I don't think it is a common practice for companies to revalue their fixed assets regularly and book the gain, if any. Only when the fixed assets are yielding negatively, revaluation and impairment to the asset may be necessarily carried out. All plantations companies don't revalue their lands unnecessarily unless for disposal reason .

The bashing KYY received is absolutely not warranted. This 80 years old senior , a philanthropist , does not deserve the attack , some are very very rude !!! He is merely sharing his views. He does not guarantee you profit . The investment or trading decision is entirely your own responsibility. Let's be more mature and civilised in our behavior.

There is obvious difference between trading and investing . If your objective is trading for quick profit, you are sure very concerned for the day to day movement of the stock and angry when the price dip.
If you hold an investment view, you don't bother the daily or weekly price movement so much but more interested in the fundemental and the eventual return. It's your choice.

Selling the non core and non strategic assets is the way to go . I think more to come. I read it as positive development.

@Moratorium,. My short to mid term TP (1-6 mths) is $2.50. longer term TP (1-2 years) is $3.50 which is at least 1x book value and assuming dividend yield to improve along the way .
The short to mid term Tp is based on PE of about 10x which is undemanding given its growth potential despite lower dividend yield now. I think dividend yield will catch up starting current FY.
The longer term TP is supported by double digits growth potential in sales and NPAT. Revenue and NPAT growth for last Fy ending 31/3/2020 was 12.3% and 27.3% respectively. Revenue and NPAT growth in current FY for 9 mths ending 31/12/2021 is 11.4% and 48% respectively. Apart from Re insurance, it's Takaful ikhlas ( family and general insurance) will be leading the expansion.
If you check the leadership and key management qualifications, you will agree that the company is run by experiencef professionals. Group CEO , Mohd meridian was previously CEO of Etiqa insurance and CEO of Maybabk Ageas. CEO of Reinsurance unit was CEO of Cimb Aviva and CEO of Hsbc Amanah Takaful etc...
Just my view and expectations for sharing. Not a buy or sell call.

Also, AlsvinChangan claims that the reinsurance business is the most risky one . I don't think this is in anyway reflected in the financial results in the reinsurance segment of Mnrb since listing . The annual reports for many many years are available in Bursa website for your checking. Don't make statement that you can not defend !

@AlsvinChangan,. PNB selling down because MNRB is non Shariah compliance doesn't hold water at all! Firstly, MNRB is always not lin shariah compliance list published by Bursa,. now just today. Secondly, in PNB's portfolio there are other non Shariah stocks too. Thirdly, if shariah compliance is the issue, PNB/ASB shall dispose TOTALLY all MNRB shares . In that event, PNB/ASB will not sell in the open market but sell the whole lot to a buyer In order to get much much higher valuation. You may know when PNB sell the whole lot of CCM to KLK , they get about 3x higher price than the 6 months average traded share price . Mphbcap sold 49% of it's small insurance unit to Generali for about $350 mil based on over 3x book value . Book value for MBRB is about $3.50. How much do you think MNRB worth if PNB decide to sell the whole lot or substantially??
