Riverstone dropped 8 cents on Friday but up 16 cents until now.
Most of the gloves dropped or stay muted except for Supermx and Topglove.

All well informed investors were buying Supermax and other glove companies’ shares aggressively to push up the share prices higher and higher.


2nd largest Supermax shareholder in 2009

As soon as I saw the swine flu outbreak in 2009, I started buying Supermax shares. As the price for Supermax increased, I sold all my other holdings to buy more Supermax shares until my wife and I became the second largest shareholder as shown in the company’s 2009 annual report. Supermax CEO, Dato Stanley Thai took notice of our aggressive buying, and invited us to visit the factory in Sg. Bulou, Selangor.

When did I sell all my Supermax shares?

During the swine flu outbreak, our Malaysian Airport Authorities had installed temperature testing equipment for all arrival passengers. Just like during our current situation, all clever investors were rushing to buy Supermax. The daily traded volume and share price continued to go up higher and higher. Supermax share price gained more than 500% within 2 years. As soon as I saw, all the temperature testing equipment at the airport were removed, I sold all my Supermax shares above Rm 6.00, at almost its peak price

Similarly I bought into Supermax a few years ago. When I saw there was a sudden jump in profit for Supermax in February 2009, I started my buying. When I saw X ray detectors installed at the airport to prevent the spread of the deadly HINI virus, I bought more aggressively.

The chart below shows the price of Supermax shooting up from RM 1.00 to above RM 6.00 within a period of 15 months. People were then fearful of the deadly HINI virus. The demand of gloves far exceeded the supply. As a result, all glove manufacturers were reporting increasing profit every quarter.

Supermax annual report as announced on 8th April 2010 showed that my wife and I together with my nephew and my sister in law held a total of 19, 550, 000 shares. We bought Supermax instead of Top Glove because it was trading at a lower P/E ratio. Similarly VS is now trading at a lower P/E ratio than MPI and Globetronics.

How did I make a kill?
We bought so much Supermax shares within such a short period that its Executive Chairman and CEO, Dato Seri Stanley Thai invited me to visit their factory in Sg Buluh, Selangor to reassure me of my investment. He also wanted to know how and why I bought so much of Supermax shares within such a short time.

I told him that as soon as I saw the annual report as announced in February 2009 that there was a sudden jump in profit, I started my buying and when I saw X ray detectors at the airport, I bought even more aggressively.

In July 2010 when the HINI fever was under control, I sold just as aggressively. That is how I made such a huge profit.

Just like uncle KYY, we have another well know investors known as KC Lau. He also invested in supermx during H1N1 outbreak. He made a killling out of it. Please read his blog to know when he bought and when he sold.

Once a strong supporter turned a strong critique. The curious case of Talib.

I give another example, Maybank. Yesterday, it reported a RM 2 billion profit (EPS 18.23). Today opened, we up abit and then finally closed 9¢ lower. Why not going up? Investors knows about the moratorium. This quarter result not going to be good.

During Oct-Disember 2019, Genting made EPS of 13.73. once result out, no share increase. Why? Because they know coming quarter is not going to be good. Yes, they are correct. Last quarter, Genting made a loss of 132 million or -3.44.

Can sleep without any worry just like Joyvest.

Those who think Supermx is overvalued, can consider Genting (RM3.99)(p/e 11.88, nta RM 9.10) or Maybank (RM7.43) (p/e 9.9, nta RM 6.94).
Very very cheap!
