@Orlando Why do i need to prove to you that i work with MOH. My work at NPRA requires me to sit in front of a PC everyday to evaluate drug product dossiers. In between work, i respond to comments here. Any problem with that? You are the pandemic here LOL

@UlarSawa As mentioned, currently there are NO human vaccine manufacturers in Malaysia, only human vaccine fill and finish faciities. There is one animal vaccine manufacturer but animal vaccine is different level compared to human vaccines. Even then, there are only 2 GMP certified fill and finish facility ie Dpharma and Pharma.. One more fill and finish facility ie Solution Biologics is still undergoing inspection by NPRA and is currently still not GMP certified for fill and finish. Since there are currently NO human vaccine manufacturers in Malaysia, it will take a long time before there will be one GMP certified human vaccine manufacturer in Malaysia. It will be a long long process and will take a long time....Not easy at all..

In that unverified letter, it is not mentioned anywhere that IOI will be distributing the vaccines....
2020-12-07 15:26 | Report Abuse
@LOOK009 No firstly it is unconfirmed whether that circulating letter that went viral is legitimate or fake. Secondly in the letter it is mentioned that IOI MAY collaborate with Sinopharm to build a covid vaccine manufacturing and fill and finish facility. Let me tell you this, obtaining good manufacturng practice certification from NPRA will take many years. So far there are no human vaccine manufacturers in Malaysia, only fill and finish facility. Its not something that can be done "overnight". Not forgetting the time for technology transfer and training of personnel....

“Abu Dhabi (UAE)’s ulema council has announce that there is no issue with the halal status of the G24 (Sinopharm) vaccine,” he said.

@UlarSawa Sinopharm has already applied for regulatory approval from China authorities while Sinovac has not done so....Besides, Sinopharm conducted the world's first phase III clinical trials in UAE which has the advantage as the nation is home to more than 200 nationalities, allowing for robust research across multiple ethnicities, increasing the vaccine's feasibility for global application on the success of the trials. On November 17, Liu Jingzhen, chairman of Sinopharm, said that the vaccine candidates have been under Phase-3 clinical trials in 10 countries including the UAE, Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Peru, and Argentina, with nearly 60,000 people inoculated. The links to the above facts can be found below....

No Middlemen In Government’s Covid-19 Vaccine Deals: Khairy
By CodeBlue | 07 December 2020
Khairy Jamaluddin says the government’s RM3 billion allocation is not just for Pfizer’s vaccine alone, but for all Covid-19 vaccines to immunise 70% of the population, covering procurement, storage, and transport.
Companies Are Free To Pursue Any Vaccine Deals, But It All Comes Down To NPRA’s Approval
The minister also said that any private companies can make private deals with international vaccine companies, but those deals are not related to the government’s vaccine agreements.
“Any company can discuss with any international companies to be their agent, distributor, etc and we cannot control if they want to make commercial arrangements with any companies or vaccine manufacturers,” the Umno lawmaker said.
“If they do not get approval from Clinical Research Malaysia, for example, they can’t run clinical trials here. If they do not get approval from the National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency (NPRA) which is under the Ministry of Health (MOH), they cannot bring in the vaccine into Malaysia.”
