The Sabah government is asserting that tax ought to be paid where the extraction is carried out, not at the point where the crude oil is sold.
Section 24 of the Land Ordinance gives Sabah power and authority over its resources. According to the Ordinance, minerals in the land which include mineral oils and petroleum, are reserved for, and owned by the Sabah government, which is also empowered to control, deal and licence its exploration, exploitation and mining.
The Sabah government has collected RM2.458 billion of sales tax on petroleum products, since it was implemented on April 1, 2020 until June 30, 2022. As of June 30 2022, the state government has collected RM808 million or 73 per cent of the estimate for the year.
It will be a separate issue if Hibiscus were to argue that the Kinabalu oil field and the North Borneo Sabah Enhanced Oil Recovery production sharing contract lie outside of Sabah's territorial waters.
---
The two subsidiaries, Repsol Oil & Gas Ltd and SEA Hibiscus Sdn Bhd, had refused to make payment after contesting that it sold its crude oil entitlement from the Kinabalu Oil Field at the Labuan Crude Oil Terminal facility “outside the sovereignty and jurisdiction of the state of Sabah” and hence should not be charged the SST.

zen_2k,
Unfortunately, I do not have any cheap tickets to sell to you.
I am of the opinion that the financials of PTrans are falsified.
Last year, I wrote to the SC about issues in three companies. Submissions on Ucrest and KeyAsic were initiated May 2021 - SC reference SC2021-19652. Submissions on Serba was done later.
I'm probably going to write to the SC and AOB about Ptrans.
Ptrans' major customers - Maksima Timur, Rezeki Megajaya and Century Edge Group ought to be investigated as well.
You will likely get to collect cheap tickets after that.

Repost on why the Bulungan land is valuable for the purchasers.
Posted by PSAi3alert > 5 days ago
Previously, JJPTR raised some issues on the Bulungan land sale and the possibility of the deal with aborted.
The following are a few notes on the buyers of the land at Bulungan regency, North Kalimantan and the intended usage for the land.
President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo officiated the groundbreaking of the Bulungan green industrial park last year.
Projects have been lined up. Land conversion will not be an issue.
Garibaldi Thohir representative of buyer of KIPI land, is the President Director of Adaro. Adaro Energy Indonesia TBK PT has a market cap of IDR 94.36T (RM27.93 Billion)
Justarina S.M. Naiborhu representative of buyer of KIKI land, is the President Director of TBS Energi. TBS Energi Utama Tbk PT has a market cap of IDR 6.24T (RM1.85 Billion)
Development of the green industrial park at Bulungan is led by Garibaldi Thohir:
"The industrial park will draw power from soon-to-be-operational hydropower and solar power plants, and will host producers of high-tech and precision products such as semiconductors, lithium-ion batteries, solar panels, industrial silicon and "green aluminum" – aluminum made using low-emission processes. Investors from Indonesia, China and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are behind this consortium, named PT Kalimantan Industrial Park Indonesia, led by Indonesian tycoon Garibaldi Thohir, who owns the land and who is president director of the country's second-largest coal producer PT Adaro Energy."
TBS Energi has teamed up with Gojek to develop Indonesia 2-wheel EV ecosystem:
"GOJEK has teamed up with Indonesian energy company TBS Energi Utama (TBS) to launch a new venture aimed at developing Indonesia's two-wheel electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem, the companies said in a joint statement on Thursday (Nov 18).
The new entity, known as Electrum, seeks to build a comprehensive and scalable EV ecosystem throughout the country, tapping the ride-hailing start up's deep presence in Indonesia and TBS' capabilities in the energy sector.
This will include two-wheel EV manufacturing, battery packaging, battery swapping infrastructure, as well as financing for EV ownership, Gojek and TBS said."

JJPTR,
You are repeating questions that have been addressed.
CH William Tahar & WONG has valued the land based on 'Hak Guna Usaha'.
The purchasers are buying the land for 'Hak Guna Bangunan'.
The Bulungan land sale, when completed, will result in a savings of approximately RM18.76 million per annum when RM550M of borrowing is reduced further.
Between 31st March 2020 and 31st March 2022, borrowing was reduced by RM466.439M (from RM1445.469M to RM979.03M).
I fail to see the connection between the possibility of a aborted land sale with the need to raise funds through rights issue to cover bank loans. TSH's cash as at 31st March 2022 is RM340.446M .
If aborted, they will just take a longer time to become debt-free.

StartOfTheBull,
Yes, the bulk of TSH's revenue is derived from Indonesia.
For FY2021, TSH paid RM228.135M for Indonesia Export Levy and Duty on CPO. And for Q1 2022, RM45.935M was paid for levy and duty.
With the removal of levy and duty until 31st August 2022, TSH will save around RM25M for Q3 2022.

Inter-state travel was not allowed during MCOs. Stage buses were not running. Transportation terminals are empty. There is no traffic. No eyeball. Even Star Media's revenue was down substantially.

A few notes on the "Real estate company disguised as a bus station operator." It appears to be an advertising media company that is disguised as a real estate company which is, in turn, disguised as a bus station operator.
During the pandemic years companies in related industries all have decreased revenue and profits. Star Media, KTB, Gets Global, Aeon and Padini all suffered, bar none.
And this bus station operator had improved profits during those 2 years, despite having to give free rental during the MCO periods.
It is very odd that rental of A&P spaces increased using periods of station closure and no footfall traffic.
Borrowings creeping to over RM281M is dangerous.
Hope you know what I'm trying to say.

Palm prices recovered after the plunge below RM4,000. India's imports of palm oil will rise to between 700,000 to 800,000 tons, the highest since September 2021.

It appears that RM4,000+ level will be an acceptable price point for buyers to commence buying.
The depreciation of the MYR against the RMB and USD also make palm oil to be more attractive from a cost perspective.

The market was probably spooked by Indonesia's decision to increase the export vs local sales quota from 5 to 7.
2.4 or 3.4 million tonnes of export appeared to be a lot.
Palm oil price had a 10% limit down of RM3757.
Many shares of palm oil companies dropped by almost 10% as well.
But yearly consumption of palm oil is 73 million tonnes per year or 6 million tonnes per month.
Palm oil price rebounded to RM4027 (5.53 GMT+8).
Palm oil companies remained to be a the day's lows.
"Indonesia has since Monday lifted the export quota to 7 times the amount producers sell at home, compared with 5 times previously, senior official Veri Anggrijono said. The ministry had as of Monday issued export permits for a total of 2.4 million tonnes of palm oil products under its so-called domestic market obligation (DMO) scheme and its export acceleration programme, he said."
"Based on the smaller quota and the acceleration programme, Indonesian companies could export a total of 3.4 million tonnes. Veri did not provide an estimate of volumes expected under the new quota."

From the start of the pandemic in Jan 2020, palm oil price has increased by 25.73% as at 6th July 2022.
Sunflowerseed oil has doubled and soybean has increased by over 60%.
Consumption of vegetable oils has increased steadily over the years.
Between 2013/2014 and 20221/2022 Consumption of palm oil increased by 28.42%. During the same period, consumption of soybean and sunflowerseed oil increased at faster rates of 33% and 45% respectively.
Interest rate increases cannot destroy demand for palm oil since it's in 50% of supermarket items.
Fertilizer prices have increased by over 200%. Fertilizer has a direct impact on yield and is the major cost component.
Supply disruption remains and there is no evidence of supply construction (the real solution to inflationary pressures).
Someone is doing not so nice things to the palm oil industry. No, not the orang utans.

Johnzhang,
Boustead's cash will probably be more than RM1 billion at this juncture. That's equivalent to 0.50 cash per share.
RM1.20/share appears low.
If PRC companies were to bid, the offer will exceed RM2.0

xskyriver,
Q1 revenue and profit from ops are 324.156M and 172.883M respectively.
Q2 productions ought to be higher than Q1. If Bplant sells forward, average prices will be higher. Otherwise, averages prices will be comparable.
So profit from operations should be better. Interests expenses will be lower.
Is there any specific expense items to prevent a net profit of over 100M or 5 EPS?

Bplant's cumulative dividend from 2014 till Q1 2022 is 0.7765
Production figures for Apr 2022 and May 2022 suggest that Q2's results will be better.
Perhaps Bplant will issue 4-5 times dividend for 2022.
Dividend, for lack of a better word, is good. Dividend is a clean drive that "captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit. Dividend, in all of its forms; dividend for life, for money, for love, for knowledge has marked the upward surge of mankind." - not Gordon Gekko

Not sure if it's EPF selling down.
EPF sold down MMC. There was one individual who bought 48.916M shares at around RM0.80/share in 2020 and went through the SCR at RM2.0/share last year. He was also active in the MMC thread last year.

The valuation for the Bulugan land is substantially lower than the SPA price.
The primary reason is that the land was valued as Hak guna usaha (HGU) land whereas the buyers will use the land for Hak guna bangunan (HGB) purposes. One of the condition precedents is that the land has to be converted.
One of the buyer is the biggest coal exporter in Indonesia. The other buyer is a director in a power generation company.
Indonesia imports 100-120 megawatts of electricity from Malaysia last year to meet the needs of border areas in West Kalimantan province.
Nusantara will require 1,555 MW of electricity per year.
If the land were to be used as power generation , the conversion ought to be expedited. Both parcels are at the coast.

Nicky Liow above came up with a wild theory that the buyers will renege on a forward contract when the CPO prices plunge.
TSH sells forward to a related party and had losses on futures contract when the spot prices kept increasing in Q1 2022.
When prices start to decline, TSH ought to have gains on the futures contract.
The related party that TSH sell to is the 50% owned TSH-Wilmar. Wilmar International is a PLC with market cap of SGD26.06B (RM82.8B).
The buyer will honor the contracts.

JJPTR,
I very much doubt DJThong's story.
He alleged that he lost 100k when he followed Calvin's advice.
However, he was already skeptical of Calvin when TSH was trading around RM1.03 in Dec 2021. Since then, there is no evidence that he has bought into TSH.
When confronted about his grammar, he came up with a wild story that he is sharing a computer with his brother who also has the same DJ initials. In previous postings he signed off as DJ Thong Ing Yi.
Assuming that he bought at the highest point and now lost 40% of the value, he would have purchased 250k worth of shares in order to lose 100K as alleged.
With 250k worth of capital, he could not afford a computer? Not even a smart phone for a few hundred bucks?
He is either doing a badly done 'Nigel Ng / Uncle Roger' joke, or he is the alter ego of Calvin or See_Research.

Rather than calling ppl con men and scammer u as well might come up with the argument to counter what he post...which ppl also can evaluate.
if you keep on calling him conmen/scammer without any facts to counter his analysis...look likes u have personal issue with him and use this thread to attack him. It will automatically gain more ppl to believe him compared to believe in you. Just my 2 cents :)

zhangzuode,
I was referring to twynstar's point (5) that stated Michael purchased about 30M shares at an average price of around 0.98 in Feb, March and late June.
A substantial shareholder who continues to purchase big blocks is the one of the optics that are being presented.
My point is that Michael already has a block of 180M shares as at March 2021 purchased at an average costs of about 0.28 or so.
Despite the large purchases on the 22nd (15M) and 23rd (5M) June, prices continue to decline.
IDSS and PDT over the past few days have not been significant.
