HI guys, i want to do car porch tiling outside my nipah gate, however realize that the porch reaching to the road is slanting sideways, on the right is higher slope the way to the left front corner. The right cannot lower the ground else water cannot flow to the road. The left cannot make higher else it will be high hill slope for my car to drive in. If the car porch tiling do slope to the left front corner, the tiles might jack up at the one corner. My contractor also scratching head and propose to make the tile smaller.
How to make it a smooth slope?

Actually, Trump has done the right thing. While many medical staff at WHO do a good job, its director-general, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus and his cronies are playing politics.
Those who know UN can tell you of the bungling, waste and corruption. UN is like a failed state, though some agencies are doing a good job. Only Trump has the guts to do the right thing.

We saw it during the previous BN's Mahathir's Operation Lallang. The trouble actually started MORE with the quarrel between Umno youth led by then chief Najib and MCA's deputy chief Lim Kim Sai. When the trouble seemed to escalate into racial problem only some small Umno, MCA minions were detained to arrest the worsening situation. However big fishes like DAP giants like Karpal Singh, Lim Kit Siang, Lim Guan Eng, Mat Sabu all from opposition (against BN) were detained also when they didn't play big part in it. Worse still a few Christian priests and and non-mainstream Muslim leaders joined in the detention at Kamunting.

Umbrella Corp,Singapore is also doing targeted testing. The fact that all their migrant workers are legally entered into Singapore and they are housed in dormitories make it easier to locate them.
In Malaysia, we have problems of illegal migrants. How you expect KKM to catch them when they are scattered here and there. What KKM is doing now is laudable because they are doing targeted screening for the migrants at the pasar borong, Menara one and Selangor mansion....
We cannot apply the same method due to different in logistic reasons. I can also say Singapore has overlooked the seriousness of these migrant workers because they only took action after the numbers infected became too big.
Why don't they do mass screening earlier when these migrants can be easily located? There was one case reported in CNA, where the Bangladesh worker was turned down twice from the clinic and hospital when he became sick. He went on to mustafa center and got the whole building lock downed.
Please try to see the point as the grass is not always greener the other end.

Feeding or distributing food aid to the poor and deserving is not just humane but Godly act. Knowingly and intentionally stalling or depriving it can only be done by Satanic personality who cannot feel for the hungry and marginalised.
As a Minister, it Rina's responsibility to ensure the distribution reach the allocated centres.
What does it matter to her who the YB is for a particular distribution centre. This is depraved thinking.
This woman is proving to be a disaster for the new government, when it is a given opportunity to make a lasting and caring impression among the rakyat.
It appears the government is in discord with the PM and Senior Ministers, having no control over the other Ministers.

Yes, If anyone had any doubts that this PH government would be different from the UMNO/BN government this long list list of honours would demolish that. People have been given high awards just for being in that position and not for any outstanding performance . Just what has the AG, IGP and military chiefs done to merit their recognition in the short time they have been in place? For starters I would have expected the former PM to be in jail serving time instead of strutting around with his lawyers in tow. As far as I see it the AG will eventually blow his case against Najib. As for the IGP, the Pastor Koh case is still unresolved and he has still not been able to locate Indra Gandhi’s daughter. So will these two key government people tell us the public just what they have done to merit these grand awards?
In most countries civil service officials get awards after a long and distinguished but not in Malaysia where awards are given only for loyalty. And we wonder why we are in a political and economic mess.

Medically, yes we should extend, but this is purely from the medical point of view.. But if extend, many more businesses will go down unless gomen can keep on supporting, which i think gomen also have limits.. Right now, with gomen support of 4 weeks MCO, the support or subsidies are just subsidies, and there will be a lot of businesses that will shut in spite of gomen's help. When businesses shut, more will not have a job and gomen's income will also be affected due to less taxation and therefore cannot effect more subsidies. Is a vicious cycle. Then gomen will resort to more borrowing and follow by more tax later. So to extend or not to extend or extend with modificattion to make it loose a bit? Extend one more month, i think more people will have no job. Is already happening, people are getting pay cut 10, 20, 30 percent. Those that say extend, most probably they have some savings to last it or they have a job that they keep on getting salary. those on daily wage or living hand to mouth, they will be the most vulnerable. No food on the table for an extended timeframe is no play thing, i tell you. When there is no job, to find another one is tricky in this environment and it would be lucky you get one which is 30% less than your current one. 6 months later, when the banks start calling you after the moratorium, you do not have enough to make ends meet.
Now, I think the gomen must really look at the helicopter view and look at all data. And make the best decision out of the situation. Cutting all the slacks is a given. Gomen efficiency must be top notch, which I think is not happening . And to squeeze all available chance to save money, like squeezing water out from rock.
For me, I think it should extend. I already don;t have a job. But i really don;t think gomen will dare to do so. It will be a modified version - MCO but looser. Then 2 weeks later, we will see a jump. And then, we think again.

Dow 15,000 very likely as coronavirus pandemic hits U.S. economy: strategist
Veteran markets strategist James McDonald, CEO of Hercules Investments, is staying with a call that he has had throughout the coronavirus pandemic fueled bear market, now going on two months.
That is, at least one more major course correction is ahead for equities as investors realize — once and for all — the U.S. economy is in a severe recession that won’t end anytime soon. It’s a call he has reiterated several times as a guest on Yahoo Finance’sThe First Trade.
By McDonald’s math, he continues to see downside risk to the Dow Jones Industrial Average to 15,000 from its current perch just above 21,000. He thinks the economy could begin to show signs of life in the fourth quarter of this year — but until that starts to show up somewhere in the markets or economic data, he prefers putting on trades that profit from extreme volatility and downside.
Yahoo Finance highlights a call such as this because, well, McDonald has been dead right so far. Moreover, April has lived up to its billing in the early going as potentially lethal to stocks because of dreadful economic data nobody on Wall Street has ever seen before.
March non-farm payrolls plunged 701,000. The U.S. unemployment rate rose to 4.4%. The leisure and hospitality sector shed 459,000 jobs. Keep in mind this jobs data only reflects survey data up to March 12. The April employment report is widely expected to show a massive spike in job losses that reflects the 10 million people that have filed for unemployment benefits in the past two weeks.
After flirting between gains and losses in the morning, the Dow fell nearly 500 points by afternoon trading. The action in the markets today indicates investors haven’t fully grasped how much the coronavirus is derailing the U.S. economy.
Long-time economic forecaster Bethan Ann Bovino, chief U.S. economist at S&P, thinks the April employment report could show 8 million in headline job losses.
“We’re looking at close to 17 million jobs lost. So I don’t think it’s going to end in April,” Bovin said on The First Trade. Bovin adds she wouldn’t be surprised if there are 15 million jobs lost in April.
McDonald isn’t out on an island with his concerns on the market. Many strategists Yahoo Finance has talked with this week suggest the two-week long rally in stocks from the late March lows looks overdone. The pros point to not only souring economic data globally, but also the approaching earnings season as a source of downside risk.
“The market theoretically should be down even more when you lose over 700,000 jobs in one month with the worst yet to come. I think the market is braced for a lot of bad news. I don’t think the market is more or less pricing in a two-month shutdown,” BNY Mellon chief strategist Alicia Levine says.

Not made in China is global tech’s next big trend
Three years ago, manufacturing gadgets in China was a given. That’s changed fundamentally in the era of trade wars and coronavirus.
Under the new reality, the world’s electronics makers are actively seeking ways to diversify their supply chains and reduce their dependence on any single country, no matter how attractive.
Never has there been so much angst among suppliers. And no wonder, because by most reckonings, the world is facing some of the biggest shocks to production since Taiwanese manufacturers - responsible for assembling the majority of the world’s gadgets - began to decamp en masse to China 30 years ago.
The latest trend started with the US-China tariff battle, which reached a boiling point last year. Now the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic has rapidly accelerated those plans and emboldened officials to speak openly of their exodus efforts.
These days, more conversations with Taiwanese tech executives revolve around choosing the best location outside mainland China for manufacturing. They like Vietnam because of its proximity to China, though labour costs there are on the rise. While Taiwan is home, it’s considered too expensive, again mainly due to relatively high wages.
On earnings calls, analysts are increasingly asking companies how they plan to shake up the geographic spread of facilities to avoid US tariffs on Chinese imports. At the beginning of Donald Trump’s presidency, executives shied away from such questions as they did not want to anger Beijing. But recently they openly provide details of shift from China now seen as inevitable. No one wants to be seen as lagging behind in hedging against risk.
Simon Lin, chairman of iPhone assembler Wistron Corp, was even bold enough to tell analysts last week that his company can have 50% capacity outside of China by 2021. Two other Taiwanese assemblers also announced further plans to bolster their non-China production capacities in the past seven days.
Covid-19 is hastening such moves. Eric Tseng, chief executive officer of Taipei-based Isaiah Research, said some companies had been holding back from making any major supply-chain decisions, waiting to see if there would be any lasting resolution to the Washington-Beijing trade spat. "But coronavirus risks people’s lives. Now a lot of companies will accelerate their departure,” he said.
It won’t be easy to replicate the intricate network of suppliers, competent workers, efficient distribution systems and large domestic consumer that China offers, and authorities are also doing their part to sway manufacturers to stay. In Zhengzhou, home to the "iPhone City” mega-complex, the local government has appointed specially designated officials to help Apple Inc partner Foxconn address logistics and labour-shortage related issues brought about by the coronavirus spread.
Apple has also said it wasn’t looking to make any quick moves out of China because of virus-related interruptions. "We’re talking about adjusting some knobs, not some sort of wholesale, fundamental change,” chief executive officer Tim Cook said in late February.
Still, Foxconn begun churning out older iPhones in India last year, a move that appeared to signal Apple’s growing interest to bolster its presence in the world’s largest market for smartphones after China. Regardless whether they select India, Vietnam or any other country - it’s clear that electronics makers are past the point of no return in their gradual migration from China.
