Old news. We were all quarrelling about JP Morgan silly analysis 2 weeks ago already.

The news of the PSC hike has taken some of the wind out of AA's sails. Should be back on its merry way once everyone realizes what a non-issue this is. As usual, complete market overreaction to even the slightest negative news. Guess everyone just got addicted to the constant stream of good news for AA over the last few months and that's all everyone expects now. Human nature is a bitch like that.

PSC for KLIA 2 now only RM2 more for domestic AA flights, RM3 for flights to Asean countries but RM41 for flights to international, non-ASEAN destinations. Come on, for domestic and ASEAN, the difference is less than how much a cup of coffee costs at KLIA2! Passengers won't even feel it!

Cost increase can be passed on to customers. If it results in airfare going up a couple of bucks so what, customers will still by. People will still need to fly. And you talk like a RM4 BILLION decrease in debt is nothing.

I'm looking at this long term, not in and out, in and out. Still, I admit all the volatility does make me slightly anxious. Oh well, no risk no reward right chaps?

Highly doubtful this will ever happen.

Everybody knows the hike has to come sooner or later. Most stocks will be affected, not just AA. Fundamentals of AA's business remains unchanged.

Wow Tony poached Mr Daillencourt from GE? Tony's not messing around with this - bringing in the big hitters. This is why I like AA - Tony's not stingy when it comes to attracting talent.

Dengue has killed thousands of Malaysians over the years. One death nearly every day in 2015 alone. Which is the bigger problem?

Chances of zika endangering pregnancy about 1 in 100. This whole issue has beenot blown out of proportion by the scare mongers and fear peddlers. I imagine a pregnant mother's lifestyle choices like drinking, smoking, prescription drugs use etc probably do more harm http://www.todayonline.com/singapore/low-risk-zika-related-birth-defects-say-doctors

One of the reports, I can't remember which, mentioned they think the majority of the sale proceeds will be paid as dividends so that Tony and his boys can use it to pay off what they borrowed to fund their private placement. That makes sense too. But yes, either pay dividend of pay down debt, its good for shareholders - the dividend is just more immediate.

Unlike SARS, zika is not airborne. SARS was spread easily through breathing in droplets from an infected person's respiration - a real concern when sharing a confined space (like an airplane) with many people for an extended period of time. That's why SARS affected air travel much more significantly than Zika will. Its makes more sense to compare zika with dengue and you don't see air travel affected by dengue right?

@meathere Agree completely. Supermx is messing with people's hard earned money here. Frightening people, especially newbies, unnecessarily here into selling low and incurring losses just because of his own personal hate for Air Asia. If he has valid reasons based on fact, by all means he should state them here in a professional manner and let all evaluate accordingly. Just simply screaming SELL! SELL! with price forecasts obviously just picked out of his ass only causes panic among some of the new investors.

I'm glad I held on tight in spite of the steep dive the last few days. Bottom line is I believe Tony wants to take this company to the very top globally. Does his track record till now not prove he is capable? Air Asia is arguably the best Malaysian brand known globally. Imagine what he can do in the next few years. Do you really believe the worth of this company is only RM 3 to 4? I find it difficult to believe that a man with his vision and capability was only in this to make a quick buck with his private placement and then manipulating the stock price as alleged by certain parties here the last two days. They may be greedy and short sighted but that doesn't mean Tony is as well. There are businessmen, and then there are the true visionaries.

Thanks JJchan. So in other words, no fundamental reason for the sell down other than profit taking and dividend obligations on the part of the big GL funds. No sign of "distributing" by TF looking to make a short term buck then as alleged by certain parties on this forum?

Secrecy that's what I'm saying - even assuming PlsGive's theory is correct that AAX and AA performance are closely correlated in spite of the vast differences in the dynamics of their respective markets, hasn't AAX performance improved significantly relatively speaking?

All indications point to this being one of AA's best years ever - if not THE best to-date. Low fuel price, increased market share, high load factor... ask yourself what real, solid reason is there for the price to be whacked down so harshly? Remember, the same thing happened last Q just before the results came out.

Price also dropped close to 10% in the days leading up to the release of last quarter's report and then cruised upwards from there to where it is now. Now is the time to test your confidence in the company. Do you believe AA will deliver results again? Be greedy when others are fearful.

Now, now kittens...don't bicker. All of us who held to this point has made money regardless paper profit or realized gains. Let's just be happy for one another, ok? I for one am happy to stay and enjoy the ride a little bit longer. Even if I were to sell, I wouldn't know what to do with the cash: too little to invest in a decent property, too much to let it sit in the bank earning nothing.

Wasn't the PP approved way back in May when the share price was much lower? There was plenty of concern over the dilution back. I don't believe the PP proposal was ever "shelved". It has been ongoing ever since and priced in accordingly. Even JP Morgan didn't factor it into their very bearish analysis.
