Antie. Let me teach u a lesson la... Wat u just said is net cash. A company can have plenty of net cash if there is build up of payable. Likewise a company that pay it's debtors in regular basis can have very low amt of net cash, but it doesn't mean the latter is better than the company mentioned earlier. Must take working cap into consideration (receivable, payable, cash in hand). The best way is to determine it's excess cash. U know wat excess cash mean or not? It's cash not needed for the core operation of the company. Excess cash is cash that can be invested in financial securities or any other investments not related to the core business, or can just be distributed to shareholders as dividend or bonus share if the company is interested to enlarge it's share capital. Now i ask u do u know how to calculate excess cash? If dun know dump investor like me are more than happy to teach u.
