Fund managers did keep abreast by calling the company IR... Serious Individual investors could have called...retailers mostly likely sold.... serious investors did read QR, would have known the delay in the Vietnam factory from the capital commitment. .. Those "MongChacha" also do not know the planned capacities for the 2 factories have been doubled or tripled up ! HAHA!

Don't worry! More and more fund managers will be in this stock. It will be more and more transparent as it continue to grow bigger and bigger. The fund managers surely would request for it.
Btw, for FY16 apparel revenue for NIKE was USD9.5 Billion and Under Armour was USD3.2 Billion. The market is quite sizeable for Prolexus to grab.
Once the fabric mill is completed, coupled with the new Vietnam factory, Prolexus would be more competitive in capturing a bigger market share from its contract manufacturing with Nike and Under Armour.

The fabric mill will start production first... then the Vietnam apparel factory...both early 2018....
Fabric mill ultimate capacity 200 million yards per annum... wow! This alone will exceed rm1 billion in revenue..
Vietnam apparel factory capacity 26 million pieces...total capacity 40 million pcs..
Fantastic Future Growth
From 14 million pieces to 40 million pcs...apparel manufacturing.... almost tripling up ..
Revenue from apparel manufacturing also rm1 billion !

Niki, when will the fabric mill in Kluang start production?
2017-08-11 09:58 | Report Abuse
Change in design due to doubling in capacity in the Vietnam plant? From about 14 million pcs to 26 million pcs? So long as there is massive growth in the future... why mind the slight delay... haha!
2017-08-10 22:49 | Report Abuse
Capex for the Vietnam plant has been increased from RM22 million to about RM30 million as deduced from the Capex allocation, total rm130 million - rm100 million for the fabric mill.
So the Vietnam plant capacity has been increased. Initial production of 30% was 4.5 million pcs, not 3.5 million. Apparently the Vietnam plant now has a capacity of producing 26 million pcs (40-14).
200 million yards annual production for the fabric factory could be the ultimate capacity pending further future expansion.....
The company should be knowing what they have planned for and would not simply put down the figures.
2017-08-10 09:58 | Report Abuse
"Authorised and contracted for" meant already authorised to spend and contract/purchase order issued.
"Authorised but not contracted for " meant the capex is ready to be spent but the contract/purchase order has not been issued.

No! You misunderstood.
Total Capex committed is rm130million excluding land costs of the 2 factories. I meant only paid a few millions (part already paid) as reported in the latest QR. The fabric factory (Prolexus Textile Park) Capex is about RM100 million....

Meaning the expansion plan is much bigger now. The management now implementing the expansion plan of the planned stage 1 and stage 2 together. There may have room for stage 3 future expansion....as the fabrics factory could have a capacity of 200 million yards annual production. The stage 1 as planned was only 14 million meters as reported in the rights issue circular to the shareholders. .. Total Capital Expenditure for the 2 expansion now is about 130 million (part already paid) instead of 77 million as reported in the rights issue circular to the shareholders. Fabric manufacturing is capital intensive as it required M&E facilities like air conditioning, electrical installations, waste water treatment plant, etc apart from the machineries...

Syariah Compliant
Prolexus lost its Syariah Compliant Status in May 17. The most probable reason was its Cash holding exceeded 33% of its assets and the cash was placed in USD deposits, as read from AR16. Come Nov 17 for review, it is highly likely that it will regain its Syariah status as the cash may have been disbursed for the dual factories expansion if not relocated to Syariah Compliant financial institutes. Just my guess, lol..

Fabrics manufacturing is capital intensive whereas apparel manufacturing is labour intensive. Fabrics manufacturing needs a lot of electricity and water. In those developing countries where reliable supplies and competitive costs of electricity and water are not available, it would not be competitive to set up fabrics manufacturing plant thereon.
With weakened ringgit, is Malaysia competitive in Fabrics Manufacturing?

Ramatex, listed in Bursa, which manufactured fabrics in the upstream and apparel in the downstream, was doing so well that the major shareholders took it private @rm2.20 in 2007. Could Prolexus be as successful ?
2017-07-31 22:12 | Report Abuse
For FY15, the co consumed 15.5million meters of fabrics and the revenues mainly from apparel manufacturing was about rm350 millions.
The planned Kluang fabric factory initially would only produce 14 million meters for own consumption. However, as per the above job advertisement, the planned installed capacity is 200 million meters. Apparently, the management has revised the plan and go ahead on full swing building full capacity instead of in stages. The Capex for the 2 factories has increased to approx. rm130millions as read from the 3QFY17 report, instead of rm77 millions as advised in the rights issue circular to the shareholders. This shows the confidence of the management on the planned dual expansions.
Upon full running of the Fabric factory producing 200 million meters fabric, the revenue from the Fabric Factory alone could easily exceed rm1 billion as the sales value per meter easily more than Usd1as googled.
With vertical integration or going upstream producing knitted fabrics, the company would become very efficient and competitive, eventually enhancing net profit margin by more than 5% as reported in the rights issue circular to the shareholders last year. This is an important competitive edge as not many garment manufacturers have own fabric manufacturing factories or are vertically integrated.
My 2 Sen of views and findings.
Buy/Sell at your own risks.

According to the above advertisement, the knitted fabric factory annual production capacity is 200 million yards. How much is this in term of value, RM? How many millions pieces of apparel can it be made into?

And Prolexus is setting up a knitted fabric manufacturing factory....the material they use for their apparel manufacturing..
2017-07-25 12:21 | Report Abuse
Nike FY17 apparel revenue USD9.654B. Nike sourced from 430 apparel factories in 41 countries. The market is also big enough for the producers. There are 2 types of apparel with different materials, knitted fabric or woven fabric. Prolexus produces knitted fabric whereas Magni the woven fabric. Nike is reducing inventory recently and this may have affected the sales of some suppliers perhaps those producers of the knitted fabric like Prolexus.
I expect the drop in earning in the last QR is only temporary as Nike cannot keep reducing inventory and at the same time aiming to increase the revenue from FY17 USD34B to USD50B by 2020. However, I expect the coming Prolexus QR to be not so good YOY as Nike may not have reduced the inventory to their target yet but I also expect the QR to be not bad as the 4Q used to be the strongest Q.
Once the new factories are up and audited by the OEM customers, the co could expect to receive new orders.
The fabric factory in Kluang could enhance PAT by 5% as reported in the rights issue circular to shareholders last year. The Vietnam factory could more than double the present capacity once fully run.
This is a long term stock and not suitable for those short term traders looking for quick gains and those who has no patience and confidence in the company.
In every investment, there is risk.
Just my views and

EPF has long appointed many external fund managers to help managing their funds...The above are their 30 largest percentage shareholdings of listed companies in Bursa. They are now the largest shareholders of many listed companies such as Gamuda. These FM would regularly update themselves with the companies they invested. This is a right of a shareholder, not restricted to FM only.
EPF, apart from the directors, is the only shareholders holding more than 5% ( Now 7.3%) in Prolexus right now. Many other funds may have added or reduced but they do not need to declare as their holdings are below 5%. Many FM started investing in Prolexus in 2014/2015. They have their investment thesis. I believe many of us also invested based on our own investment thesis and judgement, not because a certain fund buying or selling. It will be very naive to do that. But when more fund managers are buying, they are sending hidden messages. They usually know more than what we know and what we don't know. Like it or not, they usually have more privileges.
These are my 2 SEN.
I like to stress that I am not here to influence anyone to buy or sell. Any buy or sell from any of you, I believe the share price could not be moved meaningfully either way afterall. Furthermore, these are info available from Bursa or the web and investors are very intelligent and are not so naive that they could be influenced so easily. Hahaha!
When we invest with our real money, I believe we know what we are doing. This is not a hypothetical game or just a simulation.
Buying/ Selling at your own risks.
Happy Investing.

Yeah...
EPF has their fund managers.... You will be wrong if you think that they are like you and me! They visit company management regularly and have access to more info but not price sensitive info la.....
EPF has many fund managers and sometimes different fund managers have different opinions of the stock they are holdings so one may be selling and the other buying..haha.
Prolexus is not a GLC co... EPF funds buy Prolexus on its own merit and not because they are forced to....
EPF more than often are forced to buy many GLC and suffered losses...an example is FGV....that's Why their performance is below expectations.
I did more findings into Prolexus recently and the EPF buys reassured my findings.... hehe!
Fund managers do more research and findings than what you think....and have access to more info than you and I... They are big and stable shareholders..... especially institution like EPF....and most company like these types of investors.
You may differ what I said....afterall we are here to share opinion and info....
I view the purchases by EPF positively. At least the shares are now being transferred from weak hands to strong hands....
If you are still waiting to buy... best of luck !
